Superstore (2015)
Great show!
The last few episodes of the final season have me laughing hysterically!
Great ensemble cast!
Please make a Sandra spinoff. My pitch would be that Sandra joins a cult and slowly takes over - like a comedic breaking bad.
Anyway I will miss this show!
Next Day Air (2009)
Great characters.
I felt like the storytelling and characters are the strongest part of this movie.
The editing effects are a little dated. Lot's of freeze frame.
Not all of the comedy dialogue is strong but all of the actors are just funny alone and everyone has great chemistry. So many great duos and pairs in this movie.
This movie is like a lower budget Coen brothers movie. It is also an example of how you can make a great movie for 3 million dollars. The movie made 10 million.
This movie hit all of the right notes for me and is the perfect length.
Da 5 Bloods (2020)
Delroy Lindo and Clarke Peters were amazing
There are some great performances in this film. Clarke Peters is always awesome. And Delroy Lindo deserves some awards for this film.
Some parts of the movie get a little cheesey while others really highlight the actors' talent. Sometimes it feels more like a play than a film. I think that is why some people don't enjoy it as much.
The score was not so good sometimes. Kind of felt dated in that respect.
I watched this on a Friday night, paused halfway through, and when I woke Saturday Chadwick Boseman had passed away. He's given some great performances. It is an interesting thing because his character in this film is very Christ like and messianic in death.
Again you need to watch this for Delroy Lindo's performance.
Also I can't help but feel that black movies are attacked on IMDb, probably from a small group of people with too much time on there hands.
It's on Netflix, so just give it a try!
We Were Soldiers (2002)
Here's why it's a 7 out of 10.
The movie is essentially good. Great characters and battle scenes are found in this film. I feel as though most people will enjoy it. If you like war movies, you will find this movie worthy to sit down and view. The only problem I see with this film is that it feels like a combination of good scenes and lines from other films. The apolitical analysis of war in this film does not stand out from many modern war movies. The characters in this movie seem to speak dialogue that they would only speak when coming home from a war (or analyzing it when they became older men), not in the middle of it. That's not to say that most movies pull that kind of wording on the big screen, but this film felt a little forced (and sometimes cheesy). But check it out - You're best reason for checking this out: Sam Elliot. What an awesome actor!
