The dark cruel world of the Joker.

JOKER is a dark, depressing, moody, violent masterpiece. The film rest upon the shoulders of Joaquin Phoenix and he pulls it off brilliantly! The entire cast is awesome especially De Niro and Zazie Beetz.

It's hard to believe the guy who directed The Hangover trilogy and Road Trip is the same guy who directed this punch in the gut brilliant flawless slow burn gritty glorious film.

There is no Batman to battle or evil supervillain to play off of. This is the story of one man's journey into darkness and that is why Joaquin Phoenix's Joker is easily the best Joker that has ever graced the big screen in my opinion.

Will Phoenix win the oscar? Probably not. I can't see that spineless (Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences) politically correct tool of an organization giving out any major awards to a film this good.

Joker is the best movie I've watched in the past 10 years. The flick gets 10 out of 10 severed thumbs.

If you didn't already know the story centers around Arthur Fleck a mentally troubled comedian as he embarks on a downward spiral of social revolution and bloody crime. It is his story, it is the world as he sees it.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)

An Awesome Epic Giant Monster Extravaganza!

Godzilla: King Of The Monsters' is an epic kaiju movie that's loaded with awesome Giant Monster battles.

The film is absolutely beautiful.

Leatherface (2017)

My Thoughts On 'Leatherface'

Please just STOP already! Let me start by saying I did not like this movie.. Leatherface has more in common with Bonnie and Clyde than TCM..

The story centers around a teenage Jed aka Leatherface escaping from a mental hospital with two Bonnie and Clyde wannabes and another inmate, also kidnapping a young nurse. From there, the trio and the nurse take a incoherent road trip into hell..

This movie is not good at all, and in the process sinks TCM brand further in to mediocrity.. I didn't have high hopes going in to it, but the flick did have director Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury going for it.. The duo behind one of my favorite horror films of all time INSIDE.. So I did have at least some hope..

But it was not to be, I don't know what went wrong.. Maybe to much studio meddling? Who knows.. Anyways Leatherface offers absolutely nothing when it comes to good story telling or likable characters.. I'm not going to into spoilers, but when things to come ahead.. It some of the most (all of a sudden) bullshit I've since, ugg.. Never mind..

Positives: some good gore effects, we do get a little bit of boobies.

Negatives: Terrible story, mediocre acting, awful characters.

I hate to say it, but I had more fun with Texas Chainsaw 3D and that is saying a lot.. grrrr

Amityville: No Escape (2016)

Amityville No Escape' is another pointless found footage flick that centers around a group of so-called college students going in to the deep woods to understand fear.. Yes it's even dumber than it sounds.. Anyways..

There is also a subplot involving a video tape from 1997 that has some lonely ass house wife yapping at the camera.. Apparently her husband is in the military and on deployment..

This has to be one of the most boring movies I have ever watched, literally almost nothing happens in this film.. The story supposedly takes place in Amityville, NY - and I think the video house wife lives in the old Amityville horror house? But I may not have been paying close enough attention.. I'm just not sure..

Now to be fair I honestly can't say the acting was horrible, I think the whole cast was doing the best they could with what they had to work with..

Positives: A couple of scenes worth of boob shots.. So So acting.

Negatives: Terrible incoherent story.. Shitty shaky cam..

Do yourself a favor and avoid this stinker.. Grade: D

Rings (2017)

This Franchise Needs To Stay Dead..

"RINGS" Overall the movie was just blah, it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be - but definitely not a good flick.. The film is basically about a college professor (Gabriel) watches an old VHS tape that just happens to contain the Samara curse video.. He also learns to stop impending (seven days) death, you have to make copy of the video and have someone else watch it..

For some reason the professor decides to turn the video tape into an experiment with his students.. One of his students (Holt), along with his girlfriend (Julia) set out to unravel the real mystery behind the Samara video..

The main problem with the film is the story, it's just not that interesting.. You can tell the studio/writers/director really didn't know how to resurrect this franchise.. Because the plot of the film is so convoluted, it makes very little sense..

Once scene that stuck out for me, is when Julia witnesses one of the female students getting killed by Samara.. Her only real concern seems to be 'if her boyfriend had sex with the girl lol..

The flick stars: Matilda Anna Ingrid Lutz, Alex Roe, Johnny Galecki and Vincent D'Onofrio..

RINGS gets a Grade C- "I did enjoy it more than The Ring 2, but that's not saying much"..
