Sharknado 2: The Second One (2014 TV Movie)

A good time
31 July 2014
Who thought they could top the first Sharknado but they have. This time the sharknado hits New York City. From the opening airplane sequence to sharks in the subway to the Empire State Building Sharknado 2 is truly awesome. Who doesn't want to see sharks in a skyscraper?! There is a ton of celebrity cameos in this movie. There's nothing like Matt Lauer and Al Roker reporting on a sharknado. The terrible cgi in the movie makes it even better. The end of this movie is one of the most epic endings ever. It even tops the chainsaw scene from the first Sharknado. I don't think I could have asked for anything more from this movie. I don't know about you but I am for sure looking forward to Sharknado 3.

Video game movie
23 July 2014
I went into this movie thinking it would be terrible as such of past video game movies. I watched this movie because I have played just about every need for speed game. However I was surprised that this actually turned out to be a good movie. At parts of the movie it absolutely feels like the video games. Most of the movie is driving which is fine without much story development. The story isn't an important part of this as the movie is suppose to be about driving and that's where it delivers. There are times in the movie though where cars should sustain some damage but they don't. Overall the cast was good except for the British accent which is terrible. I would like to see a sequel as fans of the video games should like this movie.

Give It A Try
14 July 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I didn't know much about this show going in and haven't read the book I don't think I would have watched this show had it not been on HBO as HBO has my favorite shows on TV right now.

This show is about a mass disappearance of people from the earth who all have nothing in common to this point. The story of the people left trying to cope with everyone suddenly just vanishing. So far it has followed Kevin Garvey who is the sheriff of the town, trying to keep some order and deal with his teenage daughter. He is also dealing with this group of people who wear white and don't speak. This group of people is very cult like and I'm very interested to see where the show takes it and what this group is about.

So far the show is 3 episodes in and it has me hooked. The first episode started off a little slow but I except that of shows as they set up the location, plot, etc. The acting in this show is awesome as expected from an HBO show with stars Justin Theroux and Liv Tyler. So far there has only really been character episodes with each one getting better. The last episode ended with a priest Matt Jamison played by Christopher Eccleston and how his church congregation has become only a few people since no one can explain the people who disappeared and everyone has lost their faith.

I'm not sure how some people can say no to a show after one episode as in a good show the plot has not been fully developed. Myself for one though like this show and will continue watching and hopefully find the reason why everyone disappeared unlike lost where some mysteries were never explained.

Good Could Have Been Great
14 July 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I went into this movie with high expectations and when I came out I was disappointed. First off Joel McHale's acting was great even with me questioning how he would be in a serious role. The movie has great suspense building throughout which I thought would build to more than it did. I liked the movie however I felt like something was missing from it. It is mostly the ending that made me feel like more should have happened than the exorcism at the end. Also horror movies need to stop relying on jump scares so much as now when you come into a horror movie there totally predictable. I'm not sure if I could even classify this movie as a horror movie its more of a drama/suspenseful movie. Hopefully there will be at least one good actual horror movie this year

Excellent Survival Story
12 July 2014
I didn't think this movie would be that good with some of the reviews I've seen so I waited until the movie was on HBO. I'm not sure why a lot of people don't like this movie. This was an excellent tale of trying to survive with all the odds against you. This movie draws you in and makes you root for the characters without actually getting in depth to their lives. You don't need to know all about someone in a survival situation because it really doesn't matter what they did in the past. Some things in the movie aren't realistic but its a movie its not real life so I'm OK with it. These are some of the CGI I've seen in a long time. I'm not to sure why there's so many people who dislike this movie.

Godzilla (2014)

A movie about humans
11 June 2014
First off this is my 1st review and I will keep it short and get right to the point as I know i hate reading long reviews. This is just based purely on if the movie was entertaining and it was. It was not what I excepted the movie is more about humans and dealing with the issues that come from Godzilla It surely felt more like the original Godzilla movies. However I thought there wasn't enough time spent showing Godzilla himself and the destruction he causes but as I was watching it I didn't seem to care as the human story lines became better than seeing Godzilla destroy everything in his way for 2 hours. Other than that it was a great movie with superb actors and effects.
