Redeeming Love (2022)
Touching
The cinematography stands out. Acting by both lead actors is splendid, Abigail deserves an oscar. My only issue is the 6 star rating: worse movies about nothing of value to the human species have recieved 8! This shows how skewed the world is and how biased it is to anything remotely christian. The film is not even overtly Christian, with enough sex scenes thrown in to offend any sensible believer or parent For the sake of reaching more people with the vital message i forgive the scenes in question but would not recommend it to church groups.
All in all the greatest picture i've seen in 5 years.
A Quiet Place (2018)
Could not believe this movie got a 7+ rating
The movie is all about an alien monster who hunts through and only through the aid of its ultra sensitive hearing capability. It has no sense of sight or smell. It can be killed with a well placed shot from a shotgun. Yet somehow they have seemingly wiped out human civilization. Makes no sense to me. Of all the monsters created by Hollywood this version be the least dangerous and harmless. Even without all the modern weapons of the military, just make a sound behind a trap and they could all be captured and killed easily. There is no need even for a high-pitch sound. The solutions to this particular alien problem are too many at every level, yet none has been explored from the offensive viewpoint.
I seriously cannot enjoy a movie where the solution to the problem is so easy. The entire premise that they attack any source of sound is suicide already; they would have wiped each other out when they were babies.
Unbelievably bad film, honestly.
Deilai Chaan (2014)
It is so lame it is painful
It is painful watching many indie productions from northeast India that pass for a film. There is no artistry or creativity whatsoever. Rather than waste your valuable time making these things called "films," I would suggest the producer or "director" to just narrate the story in front of a camera and hope for the best. While you are at it, come up with a story that does not sound like something a person with below average intelligence could come up with in a 2 minutes brain exercise.
Independence Day: Resurgence (2016)
Dissapointment Day
There are so many things about this film that i hate. Samples:
Great graphics in the first movie and here too but they alone do not entertain without believable content.
An entire city is destroyed and the planet is threatened yet the so called heroes showed no signs of grieve whatsoever.
That talking white ball is too convenient.
Secret Window (2004)
Wasted talents
The film begins well and runs like a normal crime thriller. It builds up the tension and i couldn't wait for the resolution. Then in the last 15 minutes it conveniently turns into a psychological drama. There were no indications whatsoever to the hero's state of mind during the whole film prior to the last 15 minutes. I took the film seriously till then. So when Johnny Depp appeared in double out of nowhere it was as if my world ended. I hate psychological thrillers, and hate it even more when directors use it as an excuse for lazy storytelling.
What a waste of excellent actors and splendid cinematography.
