Anna & Kristina's Grocery Bag (2008)
Love this show, Love Anna and Kristina!
Anna and Kristina have to be the best Canadian import to the US since sliced bread! Okay, so maybe we didn't import sliced bread from Canada. So they are #1~! Could there be a more charming, beautiful, delightful couple of ladies to watch screwing up recipes in the kitchen? =) I'm not a big fashion bug, so watched their fashion show prior to this one but didn't much get into it as a guy, who's wardrobe consists pretty much of just jeans and T-shirts... But I do like to cook, so when they came out with this show I was thrilled.
They are adorable. You can see it come through that they are really friends. And its good to see them be honest with the recipes they work with (though I think that episode with Glamour magazine was staged. The recipes turned out horribly, and they both gave the magazine a thumbs up? Seriously, did you get a feature article or something in Glamour and feel you owed the magazine something?) Other than that though they have been very straightforward on the show and they are both ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE, DELIGHTFUL women. If I was starting a harem, they'd be #1 and #2. Okay, into creepy fan territory, so will go now...
Stargate Universe (2009)
Best of SG
I agree with the featured review from the Australian writer.
Stargate Universe was by far the best of the series. I've watched the original and Atlantis, and while they are good and have their own unique appeal, Universe was much more gripping and engaging.
Its my top science fiction series next to Star Trek Enterprise, another underrated and prematurely cancelled series.
The Stargate Universe is a place I could actually imagine myself living, on board Destiny, with all its conflicts and limitations, unlike the other SG series where I would feel, to some degree, trapped in a two-dimensional world, a sort of stifling prison. I love Richard Dean Anderson's work and thought Atlantis was also very engaging until the did away with Dr. Weir, but Universe really blows both of those series away.
Maybe the short-sighted executives who run these studios will realize some day that it takes awhile to build up a new fan base for a series. SGU definitely deserves a second chance. It hasn't been gone long yet, and could make a profitable revival.
We all want to know if they survive the three year journey, finally leave the drones behind, etc... There is at least one online petition you can sign to encourage revival of the series and I encourage you to do so. It might be as Gandalf once said, only a "fool's hope" - but it is still worth hoping for.
I miss TJ, and Eli, and Chloe, and Young and Rush and Greer and Brody and Volker... Bring em back!
