Breaking Bad: Blood Money (2013)
Season 5, Episode 9
8/10
W.W. is back after a long pause

Warning: Spoilers
I was so much exited (like millions of other viewers) to watch the second chapter of this final season. This was all worthy because now we are going to see long awaited "Heisenberg vs Hank" battle.

Both opening and ending sequence were incredible.First we see that Heisenberg is revealed to public and second Walter saying that if Hank doesn't know who he is, perhaps he should "tread lightly."

Lydia coming to car wash and complaining to Walter points that her character is going to be explored more in remaining seven episodes.Jessie doing charity was very relishing.Soul didn't get much to do but he will, in future episodes.

The movie is for you if you like action more then the story.

Director Ram Gopal Varma continues the revenge saga that he started with the first film, which released in October.

In case you missed it, Varma begins with approximately 25 minutes of footage from the first film to bring you up to speed. In the starting sequence of the movie most people thought that Rakta Charitra 1 was playing by mistake.Clearly Varma doesn't believe in montage.

The films are loosely based on the life of Paritala Ravindra, a political leader from Andhra Pradesh. While the first part focused on the rise of Pratap, played by Vivek Oberoi, the second focuses on how his arch-enemy Surya, played by South star Suriya, takes revenge.

It's a high decibel, heavy-handed saga of killing and counter-killing without a break or even a larger point.

Though Varma does tell us at the end that the film demonstrates the futility of violence - a noble sentiment, which is not unlike preaching abstinence at the end of a porn film. Because for over two hours Varma explores the myriad ways of inflicting violence– so heads are crushed, limbs are severed, families are bombed and bullets pierce bodies without a pause.

This is Varma's gritty universe, in which all the men make cryptic pronouncements and smoke and stride in slow motion. And just in case you still don't get it, the bombastic soundtrack underlines every emotion.

Rakta Charitra 1 had an urgency that kept the narrative moving despite the clumsy voice-over and mind-numbing violence. The sequel has some powerful scenes but lacks cohesion. In places, the scenes seem stitched together quite randomly. Oberoi, who was so much more effective in the first, mostly flares his nostrils and looks grim.

But Suriya saves the film from being a total loss. His expressive eyes have a quiet strength and his presence sears the screen.

On the whole, RAKHT CHARITRA is not for the faint-hearted or the lily-liveried. The violence, the blood and gore depicted in the film will shock and disconcert you, which only goes to establish as to how proficiently the subject material has been treated. The film is targeted mainly at those who love to watch aggression, violence, bloodshed, brutality and massacre on the silver screen, but a chunk of the movie-going audience (ladies and kids) will choose to stay away from this scene of carnage.

Will someone please find him a better Bollywood script?

It's a perfect history lesson.
3 December 2010
Ashutosh Gowariker retells the astounding true story of the Chittagong uprising of 1930. Led by a fiery school teacher, a band of 64 revolutionaries, most of them school-going teenagers, launched five simultaneous attacks on British strongholds in Chittagong including the cantonment area and the telegraph office Ashutosh recreates this largely forgotten event with sincerity and sweat but unfortunately Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey comes off a high school history lesson: plodding, stilted and in long stretches.

The film's entire first half is the set-up to the event the nuts and bolts of planning a revolt, getting enough investment, planning and co-ordinating each step. Ashutosh introduces us to half a dozen characters but the screenplay doesn't adequately flesh out even one.

The second half has more urgency and momentum and climaxes in the inevitably tragic but rousing finale. The dialogue is always lofty and theatrical and the actors are insistently noble. Abhishek Bachchan, who plays the leader Surjya Sen, is in sober, benevolently smiling mode. We get little hint of the fire in his belly.

This is a great effort to bring such hidden subject in front of us but if you like fast paced cinema then its not your type of movie.

If you love good cinema, watch it. My vote 7 out of 10.

Go watch it but not in 3D.

Warning: Spoilers
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is the third film in the series based on CS Lewis' fantasy novels.

In this installment, the two youngest children, Edmund, played by Skander Keynes and Lucy played by Georgie Henley, are transported back to Narnia along with their obnoxious cousin Eustace, played by Will Poulter.

The three embark on an adventure on the high seas, which of course includes enchanted waters, the nefarious Dark Island and a gigantic crustacean creature that looks like the Kraken's first cousin.

Many of it is fun – I enjoyed the nasty Reepicheep and Eustace who of course eventually discovers his noble inner self – but most of it feels like a retread of all the adventure fantasy films you've seen before, with the requisite moral science lessons.

Action is great, full of special effects and the comedy too( thanks to Eustace and Reepicheep).Young actors (Edmund and Lucy) are improving film by film, but the dialogs are not handled well.

I have seen both 3-D and 2-D version but I don't recommend 3D(IF I have seen 3D first I would not go and watch 2D).As it is just the fashion right now, they have to work hard to reach at the level of Avatar. Not just the motion blur makes the movie 3-D.

So folks go out and watch this but avoid 3D version and save your bucks.kids gonna love it so don't miss the family.

"The Chimneys of Green Knowe" was very good book and adaptation of this book as movie was very wise decision,As the movie make justice with the book.I have seen many movies based on novels but this one is really amazing and honest to book.

The cinematography is beautiful, the acting is superb especially Maggie Smith(Linnet),Eliza Bennett(Susan) and Alex Etel(Tolly) have done a great job.Movie is a little slow in start but as soon it reaches in the middle you are bound to complete it.The director gave this movie a soft treatment. The music is not so well but it is not bad at all.

Finally If you are the fan of "The Green Knowe series" or just want to see a movie in your weekend go borrow the DVD as this a rare movie.

This is called comedy
2 September 2010
I saw this movie recently on DVD, the reason I did not go to theater was (actually were) new actor, new director, and the plot was also not so much thrilling, as 9/11 and Osama are not in news now.

The main drawback of most Bollywood comedy flicks is, they do not have any plot at all, and most of them have only three things 1.Misunderstanding 2. Marathon of characters 3. Old or double meaning Jokes in place of dialogs

This film was nothing like old crap and to my surprise, I was completely wrong; the cast does justice to the movie's theme especially "Noora chacha" played by Pradhuman Singh and yes "Sikandar"(the chicken) too. Ali jafar with his impeccable timing is well suited in his first appearance in Bollywood. This is perfect platform for him to be launched in such a good movie.

The main USP of "Tere Bin Laden" is a well-crafted script with total fresh idea and of course superb direction. What a debut for Abhishek Sharma. It is a satire on the system; it is a fine funny take on the whole world fighting with the terror. This is the movie you should watch with your friends or family if you want to double your experience of fun.

And the last line: Don't read this, go watch movie and please do not watch it alone.

An hour full of laugh
19 July 2010
Warning: Spoilers
I have heard a lot about this show but never saw.One day I was just swapping the channels and I watched it,thanks to channel nickelodeon India. Now me,my family and also my friends are regular viewer of this show. The concept of show is similar to Tom and Jerry but it is having more laughter and of course a lot of surprise.

But the main reason the show captured the mass was dubbing, yes this show is being aired as dubbed version in India Germany and UK. In Indian version the mimicry of famous Bollywood star voice like Shahrukh Khan,Sunny Deol,Amreesh Puri,Sunil Shetty,Akshay Kumar,Paresh Rawal,Gulshan Grower and many more is used. So all the laughter is doubled after Complete Audio-Visual experience as the dialogs are superb and so are the renames like Joey is Lambu(tall),Dee Dee is Mote (fat and hungry),Marky is chote (small) and Jack is Fauji (soldier). After watching one season in dubbed version, I bought the DVD and watched the rest.Even without voice my experience was unaffected and the laughter was never reduced. This is a must watch show for everyone of any age.I love it more then once I loved Tom and Jerry in my childhood.
