Beloved Sisters in a Love Triangle
16 October 2014
This is a very intellectual, very complex movie. I had expected a movie more focused on Schiller's relationship with Goethe since they are such giants in German literature and history, but the movie focuses on the 3 way loving relationship between Schiller, his wife and his sister in law.

I left the movie wondering how much of the movie was fact and how much was conjecture. The expert opinion is that the events in the movie could have happened, and many of them likely did. All of the historical context is correct. It is also a fact that Schiller's sister in law wrote Shiller's biography, which would confirm the deep feelings between Schiller and his sister in law that is portrayed in the movie. Highly recommended.

Great Satire
10 August 2012
The movie is a marvelous satire on the American political system. It does a job on the effect of money in politics, the mindset of the social conservatives, the fluff answers to questions in debates, the focus on getting reelected over personal beliefs, and especially the lack of any rules in politics. There are veiled analogies to John Edwards and especially to the Koch brothers, who are famous for giving millions of dollars to Republicans. The guest commentators include Wolf Blitzer from CNN and Chris Matthews from MSNBC from the center and right. I am guessing that Fox News commentators chose not to participate.

The movie leaves you with a good feeling when you get out of the theater. I laughed out loud all through the movie. I highly recommend it.

A Great Horror Film
25 May 2010
This movie is not for everyone. Those people who are expecting a teen slasher movie will be disappointed.

At times, this movie reminded me of "Motel Hell". I was sitting in the theater thinking to myself that I could not believe that this sequence of events is actually happening on the screen. It is definitely unique. It was disturbing. It has the same impact as "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre". The movie will stay with you for some time after you leave the theater.

I was expecting the movie to be really gross. But that was not the dominant theme. The theme was horror.
