Le daim (2019)
A flop..
By far, his weakest effort to date. I love(!) his previous movies - "Reality" is one of my all time faves, with 10/10 rating, and others are strong 9/10, but this fell flat on me. I did't laugh once. A major letdown for me
I Kina spiser de hunde (1999)
A failure..
Was really looking forward to this as I'm a huge fan of Scandinavian dark comedies but this was more like a Dogme 95 manifesto style student film project
What Dreams May Come (1998)
I really wanted to like this but..
I really wanted (and tried) to love this as I love Vincent Ward's other movies (especially, "Vigil" and "The Navigator"), but this one just didn't resonate with me at all! Yes, visually(!!!), artistically & cinematically it's very impressive (and deserving the awards it had received), but the story seemed dull and very Hollywood-esque. Sad too see that "the bigger the budget the weaker the filmmaking"
The Souvenir (2019)
The devil is not so black as he is painted
In my humble opinion, the devil is not so black as he is painted, i.e. those numerous 1/10 reviews on here. If you can relate to toxic relationships or been in one, you will appreciate that aspect of the movie, how painfully accurately it's been conveyed.
Réalité (2014)
Genius!
It's been a long time since I've given 10/10 to a full-lenght feature (gave one to Capernaum as well) and I only have like a dozen of 10/10 rated movies here on IMDB from 1000+ rated titles. This was so deserving! It's brilliant.. it will leave you puzzled and elated how good it is
The Flood (2019)
Not moved by..
Many reviews here seem to dismiss the movie by focusing on the apparent political leftist bias (which I can handle) yet it's not the reason the movie is below par - it's the poor acting (except for the lead, Lena Headey) and cliché dialogues that left me underwhelmed. I'd relate more to refugee TV news stories than this fictionalised account.
The Call (2015)
Beautiful...
I usually wonder why with music as an art form it can take only 3min to evoke strong feelings of sheer joy or utter sadness yet with movies it's a full-lenght feature. Not as a rule of course, but that seems to be the pattern. The Call, being only 3min long, proved me wrong. So wrong. I wept.
Prism (2015)
Worth watching
Indeed, as the first reviewer has mentioned, it's a homage to Fahrenheit 415 movie/book, however, I was disappointed with the ending.
Into the Ashes (2019)
Stay away
Pointless, dull.. and full of cliché lines. Pathetic film-making.
