What hold did they have on him to make him do this crap. I mean everything's bad, acting, directing, story, effects... I fell asleep the first time I tried to watch it and almost crawled out of my skin the second attempt. A sad day for movies.

The story could have worked. The direction not so much. But the bad acting was unmanageable and I'm very, very surprised Jean Reno appeared in it, he must have done it as a service to a friend or something... Sorry, but it was just hard to watch.

Great cinematics, constantly funny, lots of movie and historical references, sentimental, and very entertaining. Ryan is himself with funny punchlines and smirky comebacks. The only thing that actually bothered me was Cathrine Keeners younger self computer generated face that was too obvious, so I think that says a lot of the rest. Great entertainment overall!

I forced myself through the first minute before I got pissed off for paying $5 for it. I can't say anything good about it. Literally nothing, because it was pure 100% crap. Budget was probably less than I paid to watch it...

Read the real story of Panfilovs 28, they were no heroes as painted out to be. As usual with Russians, it's all about glorious cover stories, an extension of the propaganda of WW2.
As far as cinematics go it's okay, but directing not so much. Too many speeches and tough-talk about saving the motherland, kicking the Germans and saving the world, and too little reality. The Germans are painted out to be weak, while the fact is in 1941 they were stronger than ever. But then again Russians never had a problem rewriting history, which in my opinion is a disgrace of the millions of men who sacrificed their lives in the real battles. It's a shame, honestly.

On the front cover of this movie there's an alien. As in the classic Alien movies with Sigourney Weaver in the lead. They also play on the "Alien vs..." concept, but there IS NO ALIENS IN THIS MOVIE. You'd make a mistake putting this movie in the same category as for example Alien vs Predator. It's nothing of the sort.
Also, the cam shots are too close, the acting is B class and the smoking, ironic, smart-ass broad was really just too much... I mean, she was the most annoying person, second-guessing everyone, being an idiot - that's her character, okay. But the acting was just waaaay too much. The concept of "less is more" this woman had never heard about. Then, from out of nowhere she's suddenly dead, no clarity - nothing, she's just dead on the floor. It was like "what happened?". I chose this scene because it describes the entire movie... no clarity, bad acting and bad directing. Sorry, but it's true.

When I saw this movie the first time, I didn't understand much of it. Could be language difficulties, or maybe the versatility of politically sound (and maybe true) messages the movie sends. Like a lot of other people, I find this to be a prophecy for the future to come, but even if you don't care about politics this is a great film. It does contain it all - tension, love, action, moral - the works.
After seeing it my fifth time, I do see the incredibly thought-through, woken way of thinking by the writers. This movie really represents what our society has become since it was written.
I can only hope my comment won't be censored like in the movie!
