Garmi (2023)
Tigmanshu has destroyed his own original film
It has few moments but overall it goes nowhere and parodies it's own genre through poor story, contrived situations ...
It's been not for nothing that the band of RGV camp folks are deeply unpopular, and out of job. Some one should tell them cinema could be more than a parody of one's own creation.
Someday perhaps these lost souls will make a good storyline and do something with their talents or perhaps it's too wishful a thought from Bollywood's backbenchers.
Some characters are attractive, some scenes bind you to the series but overall it makes you hate such talented director making poor entertainment package.
Antim: The Final Truth (2021)
Exemplifies rubbishness of Bollywood
It's not for nothing that Bollywood is under derisory scanner for churning mindless cinema one after the other. High time people stop watching such stupidity that is called Cinema.
Salman is extending his role play from Big boss, no expression, no effort at all.
Mahesh Manjrekar proves that he Vaastav was a fluke, every movie after that has been on the same lines , a bigger disaster each time.
Decoupled (2021)
Superb irreverent low key comedy
Wonderfully surprised! Loved it. India seriously needs more of this genre of irreverent comedy. Bravo for making something so Louth weight and funny! Enjoyed it a lot .
Gamak Ghar (2019)
A masterpiece that's almost perfect
It was a return to past that mediated by the present, for me, it was also a meditation on that past that is lost and is dying now. Almost all of the scenes are like a painting, and none of the characters are loud or garish, but almost border on acting themselves out in their own story, as if they can see they are played themselves out and with a premonition that this is going to die away, and yet a wistful sweetness of that "gamak ghar" is just too dear to be not relished . Toward the end it gets caught in its own pace and plot, but somehow manages to finish the dirge leaving that imprint on viewers mind.
A masterpiece in Maithili cinema.
Four More Shots Please! (2019)
Crappy writing, more of a story of privileged alcoholics
Crappy writing mars the series that has vacuous characters switching between victims and alcoholism at a brisk pace, and of course with moral insipidity. The character's switch between work life and alcoholism And vice versa ,is merely shown as an excuse to avoid Monotony of the one against another. Of course from the poster it's clear that the show will ride on feminism with four wrecked girls finding their way out in the world ruled by men, yet poor writing fails to bring that out, and then the real reason could be because alcholism is the problem here not gender issues. Watched it because my wife wanted to vicarious live a rebellious women's life, what she got was merely paper tigers and characters picked from trash. Down your shots, this was terrible.
