No Sky Over Whales (2009 TV Movie)
8/10
Great Cast!
13 January 2010
I loved this movie. Why? Lets see: Common German TV Stars - check. Uncommon international Star - check. I couldn't believe it when I heard that lambert signed on for a German TV movie but now that I saw him in it I hope he will do more films in Germany.

okay, he looked VERY old but hes still a serious badass. the way he was introduced was great and you could tell from his scenes with legend adorf that he had fun shooting that movie.

okay the chemistry between him and ferres is bad but never mind its the highlander for petes sake! I hope that they will do more movies like that in the future maybe with a modern topic this time. (this whole save the whales thing is very 90ies) great cast, good movie!

The Angel Maker (2009 TV Movie)
7/10
intelligent German horror movie with a twist
27 October 2009
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was a pleasant surprise as it managed to translate an urban German legend into a modern day setting. Promoted by the television station as a horror movie it actually is a psychological thriller using common horror themes.

Many Pro 7 movies like "Gonger" tried to copy Hollywood movies but "Wer hat Angst vorm schwarzen Mann?" tells an original story that uses common themes and clichés to mislead the viewer into believing hes watching a mystery themed story, while the events lead to a realistic ending.

The performance of the actors is not believable at all times but the main characters still deliver an emotional connection to the viewer that serves the suspense plot. Good to see that German horror films can indeed have soul and intelligent character structure.
