The Mitchells vs the Machines (2021)
Until the climax began, the movie was ok, but then, I started enjoying the movie a lot more.
This movie shows why the climax of a movie is so important. Until the climax began, I was actually a bit underwhelmed by the movie. I even yawned here and there. It is a good movie, it has a strong emotional core, but the action scenes did not engage me much. But once the climax began, it is brilliant. The movie went to the next level. It made me enjoy the silliness. It gave me the freedom to feel silly, and not feel bad about it. Because of the very entertaining climax I give this movie a 9/10.
Seulgirowun Gamppangsaenghwal: The Second Trial (2017)
Took the show to next level.
After watching the first episode, it was a choice for me whether to continue this series or not. But after watching this episode, it has become a compulsion for me to watch this series. I connected to the characters very much by the end of this episode.
The Great Indian Kitchen (2021)
This movie should've come long back. At least now it came.
A brilliant movie. This is a movie which supports Equality of genders, unlike the feminist movie 'Ishq - Not a love story', in which the girl just does not fight for herself at all, but insults the man (that man has his disgusting flaws of being concerned about whether the harasser kissed her or not, rather than knowing how she is). The heroine in this movie fights for herself in a valiant way. She walks out of the marriage. That man obviously did not change, and nothing more is expected from him. The director gave a very valuable message to such oppressed women - Don't waste your life by trying to change such men, they never change, so better just leave them and live your own life. Much needed movie.
Kaththi (2014)
Mass commercial entertainer with a heart.
If you want to watch something that is logical, and abiding by the laws of physics, don't watch this. But if you want to watch a movie that entertains you, and grips your heart at times, then Kaththi (Knife) is highly recommended.
Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
If Dan and Dave didn't want to be in the ship, they should've got out, instead of drowning the ship.
Dan and Dave have insulted the entire fan base, not only insulted them, but they have insulted the love the fans have for this series. If Dan and Dave wanted to get into Star Wars, they should have left the show, and kept it into some capable hands (I'm sure there are capable people who would've handled the show a lot better than this). What are the duo thinking when the fans are scolding them? That it is good that they got the money they wanted? That they have the love of their own families, and that they don't need to be bothered by the scoldings of any angry fans? If they are really so disinterested in what the fans are thinking about them, then why not leave the show, and let the fans consider somebody else as the savior of the show after Dan and Dave left? It is purely their ego that made them end the show. They must have said to each other, "We don't want to continue running this show anymore, we want to leave, but if somebody else comes in takes over the show, then the audience will hail that person. Let's not give anybody else a chance to claim the authority over this show. Let's end this show while we are running it." With such ego, they have spoiled a great show, and insulted the love of the fans. Such an insult to people who showed so much love.
We Can Be Heroes (2020)
As an adult I didn't like it, but as a child, I loved it.
Those who don't like this movie, please stop taking this movie seriously. Do you remember Enid Blyton stories? This is like a modern version of Enid Blyton stories.
Commit Mental (2020)
The adaptation is top notch.
I wondered if they would ruin the Permanent Roommates show, but they kept the flavor in tact. Enjoyable throughout.
The Social Dilemma (2020)
Ok, I'm getting manipulated into seeing Facebook. What's the problem.
One problem in these kind of documentaries I find is, they show us that we are getting manipulated into watching Facebook and YouTube. Ok, but there a two questions - 1) What is the problem? 2) What is the solution?
So, I am becoming a robot by watching whatever they are showing me. What is originality? What am I going to do otherwise if I don't watch Facebook and YouTube? Am I missing spending time with my family? Is that what this is all about?
Gang Leader (2019)
Except the first and last fifteen minutes phase, it's entertaining.
The first fifteen minutes is not very engaging. Once Naani enters the movie, the film got a lot better. But the last fifteen minutes again went downhill because of an unnecessary or rather unconvincing fight scene. Naani's strong zone is comedy and emotion. When he does macho fights, somehow they come across as fake. Directors should take better care when they show Naani fighting. But the rest of the film is very entertaining. Naani makes us laugh, and Naani makes us cry. As far as comedy and sentiment goes, Naani is a great talent, and they are the strong points in this movie too.
Ishq (2019)
The girl just sat inside calmly, doing nothing to solve the situation.
While watching the painful trouble the boy and the girl were going through with the torturers, while feeling disgust towards the perpetrators, what really bothered me is that the girl just sat inside the car, without even trying to speak against the perpetrators. She should've spoken out against them. The boy had to deal with the entire situation there when the two men were torturing them. When a woman doesn't join her man to fight against the trouble, it is not equality. Equality of gender comes when both the boy and the girl share each other's pain and deal with a situation together, helping each other. The girl did absolutely nothing to resolve the situation along with the boy. It's extremely depressing seeing that.
Good Omens (2019)
A great tribute to a work of Genius.
Ever since I read Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, I have been wanting to read or watch a continuously innovative work of Comic Genius, playing in the realms of absurdity. Finally I found it again in Good Omens. This is high quality writing. The filmmakers have done justice to the Novel. Thank you.
3 Days to Kill (2014)
You will enjoy it better if you don't take this too seriously.
A lot of reviews are pointing out the logical flaws in the movie. That's the problem of the today's cinemagoers. They want a film to be logically flawless. But a movie is not a scientific thesis or a law trial. Movies need not be logically flawless. Ask your left brain to give it a break and enjoy this movie. It's entertaining.
Madeo (2009)
I hated this mother more than I loved her. She just spoiled her son into a dumbass.
The Directing, Acting, BGM, everything is top notch in this movie. It's constantly engaging. Masterclass. But for one thing, I couldn't really get myself into the movie. It's the mother. I'm interested in psychology and I studied about the Oedipus complex. This mother is too possessive of her child that she spoiled him and turned him into an idiot. She takes too much care of him. So much that she does everything for him. He is trying to come out of her clutches, but finds the comfort zone too tough to leave. Definitely his mistake too. But as I watched the movie, I grew more and more angry with the mother. She never for once taught him how to live. He is trying to protect him in each and every part of his life. That only leads to a stunted development of the son. Mothers like this look like angels, but they are the curse for men.
