beautiful...but...
22 February 2012
Okay, this movie is beautiful and all but that does not make up for the storyline. It tends to labor on and on in order to maximize the visually amazing sets and graphics. It's as though the screenplay was too short but they still wanted a long movie. There are moments when it begins to come into its own but these again fade as another lapse of visual camouflage takes over. Not to take anything away from this movie, I was impressed by the cast and the fact that Sacha Cohen does a pretty decent job. The side stories are nice and they help push forward the story.Ben Kingsley is brilliant as always. Asa Butterfield has a bright future if he continues in the same trajectory. All in all if you have two hours to spare or are after a visual feast, this is the movie for you.

A fresh take on Christmas
17 December 2011
Arthur Christmas is a lovely family fun film that delivers that feel good factor together with good humor. It has that balance between kid movie and adult friendly atmosphere too. The premise of the movie is how Christmas has changed over the years but after all those changes some of the values of Christmas have been forgotten. Arthur(James Mcavoy)is a goofy but altogether lovable character, Bill Nighy as grandsanta delivers punchlines and old school views which lighten the movie greatly. Hugh Laurie is also brilliant as Steve. the cast was great and the story heartwarming. i would definitely recommend this movie for anyone with a sense of humor, it'll surely be a hit with the kids, both small and large.

fun witty an a little bit cheesy
23 October 2011
This movie was actually quite fun. The fight scenes were splendid, the jokes more or less funny and the acting spot on. For someone who hasn't read the book I wasn't sure what I was in for but after watching it I think I might just get me a copy. Okay I have to admit there wasn't much in terms of suspense but I think the acting saved the movie,Orlando bloom does a nice job as does Christoph waltz. Overall this is just a fun movie about three men and their camaraderie, everything thing else comes afterward. If you're looking for a fun way to spend an hour and a half or thereabout,I would recommend this movie.
