Titli (2014)
Boring useless film.
No songs, no romance, no dance. Is this bollywood film or some documentary? Don't know what I've seen. Didn't understand anything that was happening accept some bad people taking cars and some guy who is fighting with family. In our Indian culture, no woman would have boyfriend if she is married. In our culture it is a woman's duty to stand by husband. This film is corrupt and it was boring also. The camera is shaking and for no reason their was weird sounds of radio in background at some parts. Also who is this silly actor? Titli is a weak character. He is not a hero like our bollywood heros. He is ordinary. I am also ordinary so why I spend money to watch another ordinary guy? Very slow movie. when our hero could have done action and gotten the revenge against his family, instead he is just walking around. They should have added good action and gotten better actor like tiger shroff to make it more appealing (A film also needs to be marketed)....At least a little end credit item song they could have added to attract audience. This is a weak film and only for people who find blank wall entertaining to stare at.
PK (2014)
A propaganda film
This film has been made by a bunch of atheist propagandists who want to spread the nation with depression, hatred and hopelessness. An anti-religion film made by pseudo-intellectuals who think hat they are so smart and know it all. It is an insult to compare Hinduism with other religions like Christianity and Islam. Hinduism is the true religion and this film has made a mockery of it. I think every Hindu should get together and boycott this film. Boycott this insult to humanity and disgusting film. Let us stand together and fight for our faith. Aamir Khans character asks, "Where is god?".....Even the filmmakers haven't seen god because they are clueless people. God can't be seen, but he is watching all of us. Everything is decided and very few thing are in our hands. God chooses what will be done to all of us. If something bad happens to you then that means you deserve it due to your past sins.... "Karma" they call it. Everything has a reason. I say this film is very bad with ill intentions.....
Haider (2014)
Mediocre Film
There is nothing in this film.......Only good acting, but tooo slow. This film only has story but nothing entertaining. It's a copy of Shakespeare's Hamlet. Shakespeare himself is just so boring that why would we want to see a film on him? Instead I prefer watching quality films like bang Bang this week. Cool action, romance, masala and songs! This is what we like....This year the other good films in my opinion were Heropanti, ek tha villain and Kick! These 3 films were best!
"Haider" is like art film for festival people and those who appreciate such things. For me, I waste my money on film. Didn't understand only what was happening. I encourage bollywood to stick to masala entertainers. Even Humshakals was at least funny even if not many people liked it. It was more quality than haider. India is about song, dance and masti. Such boring films like "Haider" and this other film, "Lunchbox" (booooorrrrriiinnng), are just not welcome here.
Overall I give Haider 4 out of 10. Acting was good but Shahid makes too many funny faces.
Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014)
So sad....So very pathetic!
What is so new about this film? We have seen this same film a million times, done in different ways, but they are all basically the same!
What I don't understand, is what do Indians love so much about this same old story being told over and over again? The screenplay was weak, many moments were unnecessary and forced. A lot of the plotting seemed very convenient and stupid.
Secondly, this film gives rise to the "Indian Hypocrisy" that Indians are known for....For example their is a sex tape scene...On one hand Indians get so offended and talk about sanskaar when their are meaningful films that deal with serious subjects....But in this so called "FAMILY" entertainer, showcasing sex in a comical manner is absolutely FINE with everyone? This shows the childishness and double standards of Indians...
Also, why is it that so many bollywood films end up taking a dig or make fun of subjects that are considered to be quite sensitive in other parts of the world? This shows that Indians are so out of touch with reality....For example, the "Gay" scenes were done in such a way that they were mocking homosexuals....In the rest of the world, people would be insulted by this cheap humor, but in India the FAMILY audience loved it!
What does this say about indians? Are we so unwilling to grow beyond our mediocrity?
The Lunchbox (2013)
How can people like this film?
Firstly it was a very normal story....A boy and girl who never meet. The same thing happens over and over again. Irrfan opening his lunchbox and eating. The girl yelling every morning and sending the lunchbox....This same thing over and over again......How can this film work in the B.O? It's an art film and such films don't work in India. No drama, no masti, no entertainment. Just boring, slow moments, and too simple. No star in the film or any songs also.....If this is "real" cinema like some people say, then what are blockbuster films like "Chennai Express", "Dabanng" and "Rowdy Rathore? Obviously those are better since they earned more money. That is what people want. People don't want to get bored in the theater. Also, we never saw the "auntie" who that girl was always yelling at so that is bad direction. Also, Saajan is an old song, who wants to hear that again....We Indians want masala, action, thriller, item songs and all...We don't want such mediocre film... I would rather watch doordarshan than this movie. Or discovery channel. It's like documantery...
Don 2 (2011)
typical bollywood action flick...No originality and all gloss
There is nothing new about this film and the one liners are so 80's...
Also, what else can you expect from an Indian action film besides a mix of all Hollywood action flicks? There is some mission impossible, some Oceans Eleven and a bit of Die Hard all mixed up in this film...What Indian filmmakers fail to understand is that spending a ton of money on the look of the film (action, foreign locations, etc) Doesn't make a good film! Ya they will earn money and the film will probably be a hit since Shahrukh is in it....It's like since they got a star, they added all the dazzle but forgot about a nice, creative story!
Do Indian filmmakers lack the ability of coming up with new stories or is it that they realize that the audience will except ANYTHING as long as the film has a star? So why put in the effort if all we need is SRK?
Look at the Hollywood commercial films...Not only are they entertaining, have stars and all the great action, but they also have a story that hasn't been told before....Indian commercial film= A star, foreign locations, some stupid or copied storyline, dance numbers with white background dancers...Do people in India realize how pathetic this is?
That Girl in Yellow Boots (2010)
Good film
Truly an achievement for Indian cinema...Anurag Kashyap, the writer of films WATER and SATYA and director of films, Black Friday, Dev D, gulaal has given a good film... This film is not your typical bollywood song/dance love story. This is independent Indian cinema... Overall the film is told well, but it could have been better.... I still prefer Anurag Kashyaps BLACK Friday and Gulaal (For its poetic touch)....
This man is the future of Indian cinema along with this filmmaker named Dibakar Bannerjee...Other great filmmakers include Vishal Baradwaj (Maqbool, Omkara), ashutosh Gawarikar (Lagaan, Swades, Jodhaa Akbar) and Aamir Khan (Taare Zameen Par, Rang De Basanti, Dhobi Ghat)....
Watch this film if you want to see cinema from India BEYOND bollywood
Shaitan (2011)
weird film...
The shots and songs were good... That's it really...Very strange film with weird story... To much violence also and a few boring moments. Didn't get the whole thing about Amy and her mom... Did she go insane at the end or something? WHy was some sequences to different, like that whole flashback within flashback... So stupid and odd...WHy would you do that? The acting was good and that one guy was really good... The parsi guy. Kalki is good but not good looking enough to be bollywood actress... She also has a very odd choice of films to act in. The style of the film was nice, but overall story didn't make any sense... Why would someone agree to being kidnapped for money? Couldn't they have gotten away in some other way? Also, why is Anurag kashyap obsessed with such dark and depressing films? I think he doesn't understand that bollywood is about having fun and being entertained... It's not about making such boring films for people that want to think. I don't pay ticket to think, but only to have fun. I would recommend the recent ready instead which had many fun moments and Salman Khan (A super star!)...The songs and dancing in ready are MUCH better than this odd film...
Ready (2011)
A film for the illiterate and uneducated
This film has no proper story, no structure, nothing unique, typical salman style...What's so great about this film? Why is everyone loving it? Such mainstream rubbish in the name of entertainment...Look at the type of films that release everywhere in the world!
Only this type of a film can do so well in India...Mindless, childish, stupid, superficial, badly made, cheap....Salman showing off his abs, no story, the dances were alright....But what was the point?
When such innovative, provocative, and unique films get ignored in India, films like THIS, Welcome, Singh in Kinng, Houseful and all the other "MASALA" Rubbish become box office blockbusters...In a land where their is so much culture, tradition, history, folklore, etc etc, most Hindi films are either copies of foreign films or mimicry of western styles...The worst thing is that the audience prefers such mediocre films over quality...Meanwhile, mediocre films are also awarded and given publicity on T.V...Quality is completely ignored in India and this film is a disgusting example as to how such mediocrity can do well...
I thought India was a land of intellect? Do people read in India? I would understand if such a film would do well in the rural parts, but even the middle class, so called "educated" public are going to watch this movie....
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011)
VERY bad...Not believable...
This movie made no sense...THeir is no such thing as pirates! Also their is no such thing as mermaids and how can water make you live forever? Such a fake move, only affects and 3d was OK, rest boring and stupid...Also Penelope is sexy and the sword fight sequences were fun to watch but no logic... Whoever came up with a story like this is from another world and needs to understand reality. How can a man get stabbed and not get killed? How can a man simply pick up his sword and create magic like that? Also those mermaids were all wrong...I mean I have heard in other stories that mermaids (even though they don't actually exists) are peaceful and loving... In this movie they are shown as being evil which is completely ridiculous... Doesn't make any sense... Also the background score was repetitive and Johnny Depp has a lot of wrinkles on his face...He looks old...Plus Al Pacino needs to get a new job cuz he looks like a monkey..Overall I wouldn't recommend this film...Even the first film sucked because there is no such thing as pirates and no logic! Stupid movie...
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)
Not believable...Stupid...

Stanley Ka Dabba (2011)
booooorrrrriiiiinnng
What the hell did I just watch? This film was boring! Why do I care about what a kid goes to? There was no good dance sequence or star even in the film...Who thought that such a film can be made in India? We want action, romance, love, comedy, masala! Non of that was in the film so it's a complete FlOp! Taare Zameen par was OK because Aamir was in it but the Amole Gupte guy isn't good enough to sustain film. This movie try to be like Hollywood and fake. It try to tell story but wasn't entertaining or fun. So far I think Dabang, wanted, houseful and Tees Maar Khan (SHIELA) were the only good films recently where out money is worth the ticket. Bollywood is just about fun we dnt wanna think when watching film. Same like in TZP the only fun thing was Aamir khans entry and that song...In Stanley it was fun when the kid sang the song from Kaminey and when he got slapped. The kids acting was good, the story was OK(nothing great, to simple and no twists) and the directing was boring. Overall don't watch unless you watch...Instead watch quality bollywood like upcoming ready or RA.ONE..
Source Code (2011)
STUPID! What was the point of this FILM??
Why do we want to think when we watch a film? It was too confusing and I didn't understand what is happening...Why did this film release in India also I don't get it. The screenplay was stupid with the same sequence being shown over and over again... That is not what we paid for to see...We want entertainment here in India, not such "intellectual" films...Most people in India won't understand a film like this! Hollywood always tries to confuse the viewers and all with their movies....
Basically it just wasn't entertaining and I kept falling asleep... There wasn't any masala or singing/dancing either! What kind of a film is this? The girl was good looking but that's the only positive thing about this boring film
Tees Maar Khan (2010)
Brilliant movie
This film is exceptionally well made...The depth, innovativeness, and the provocative nature of this film is outstanding! A great film is all respects...The character arcs of Akshay and Akshay are amazing...Katrina is a beautifully talented actress and gets into the SKIN of the character. This film isn't for everyone...It's only for people that appreciate quality cinema and films that really make you think! I am glad this film was made because it really represents the intellect of our nation (India)...Only people as smart and intellectual as us can appreciate such quality art...The direction, writing, the acting and cinematography was brilliant...I also loved the beautiful lyrics...It shows how far the industry has come.."SHeila Ki Jawani"...Oh the poetry...Oh The subtext...It's brilliant! Please watch this movie only if you appreciate quality films that have something different to say...If you enjoy films like "Udaan", "Black Friday", "LSD", "Phas Gaya Re Obama", then this film is NOT for you...This is a quality film unlike those...Those films are extremely regressive while TMK have "progressive" written all over it! This is where out cinema is heading...Hooray!
Rakhta Charitra (2010)
Good but could have been better...MUCH better...
Ram Gopal Verma is back in good form...Well, kind of... This movie isn't in the league of Satya and Company, however it is much better than his recent films. To some extent, he is back! There are quite a few sequences in the film that work quite well. It's a nice story about REVENGE.
What works in the film. Well, after the first 15-20 minutes, it is quite clear what the protagonist plans on doing. His father and brother are killed. He and his mother lose two family members and now it is up to him to set things right! One murder takes place after another, in a very chilling and gripping manner. That's what works! It is exciting to see the villains get murdered and we are with the protagonist throughout the film. The death of the main antagonist, BUKKA REDDY, is especially excited....
I would recommend this film for RGV fans. This is better than his other recent films (Rann, Phoonk 1 and 2, Shiva, AAG, etc)...
