Black Widow (2021)

Regardless of critics I will rewatch it no problems.

I read a few hardcore comic fans review and I get it. Their not happy. That being said however I don't recall ever seeing diehard comic fans ever happy about any DC or Marvel movie. Casting issue's too many jokes, not enough action.bla bla bla.

For me this movie was very good. I'm not a diehard comic fan but I am a fan of superhero movies. I loved learning about Natashia's history. I love the interaction with her sister and the choice for the sister is great as far as I am concerned.

There are a few flaws here and there kind of like goofs but nothing worthy of ruining the film nor my enjoyment.

I understand one person was upset by the anti hero's lack of lines and portrayal but isn't that what makes an anti hero mysterious and more villainous. They act like a pure evil killing machine. Thats the whole point. One day if this villain crosses over then they can give that person an entire backstory. There's no hurry.

So anyhow if your a person who enjoys superhero movies and doesn't take them so serious that a bad joke can make you give up on life in general then your going to sit down and enjoy this film with whom ever your watching it with. I can guarantee it. Especially after this Covid 19 fun dry spell.

Below Zero (2021)

Not a waste of time

I normally love action packed American films but I must say that this was really good. It had action but not over board and it also had a very nice twist at the end that some say they saw coming but as a watcher of American movies I didn't see this particular twist. It was actually pretty refreshing. Now this movie had one thing that I really didn't notice until the very end scene, when I realised it I just started laughing my head off. Now this is not a spoiler or nothing it's got to do with the main actor's height. I just never realised how short he actually was through the entire movie until the final scene. Where he walks past a dozen or so police officers and most of then are women who tower him by more than foot or so .To me that was weird because as a Kid I always wanted to be a cop but there was a height and weight requirement that I just couldn't meet at the time. Those requirement have since been abolished. Any how very good movie worth the watch not just during a pandemic either.

Jack Ryan (2018–2023)

The Great confusion

The greatest confusion about Jack Ryan season 2 is not the so called revisionist writing of the script, no the confusion is that so many people are giving bad ratings because they seem to think somehow that a television series show reflet actual historic events even though the entire story is fiction. One guy suggested that the whole plot line was to show how much we dislike Trump. Where one gets that from is ..... I have no clue. When I sat down to watch Jack Ryan season 2 I wasn't expecting it to provide me with accurate history lessons I was sitting down to be entertained, and I was. Very much so. Every episode ends with the feeling that we are getting somewhere towards the goal. The acting is very good and the action is terrific. I guess the hardest part about making a series like this is that there is always someone who expects the series to follow history and events to be pictured correctly. But it is a series not the news. If you want the truth about what's happening in that country then watch the news from that country. Don't watch a television series. Its like watching Roadrunner to learn how to catch a bird. Was season 2 worth it, Yes I was entertained and I enjoyed every minute of it. It was different that season one but still very good. Jack Ryan evolved from season one to season 2 in his abilities and eagerness of getting involved physically into dangerous situations something that I would have expected him to do after season one.

M.F.A. (2017)

Tried to turn it off but just couldn't

I read a few reviews before deciding to write this and what I read was they felt this movie was an attack on men in general and that in order to enjoy this movie you had to be a hardcore feminist. Well that's just nuts, as a male I for one liked this film. at one point after I read the reviews I tried to stop watching , I guess I felt that I had to support y gender since that is what they thought. But I just couldn't. There was something that pulled me into it. made me want to watch it all. The reviews that I have read that critic this movie in a negative way are not really critiquing the movie but how they side with the story being told. Saying the movie is bad because its unfair towards men is a weak critic about the movie itself and more of a view into what that person thinks about strong women to begin with. The movie itself is rather slowed paced but always kept me intrigue enough to want to sit and watch it all. Its not my typical type of movie , I am more of an action pact movie guy but every now and then I find myself captivated by a slow paced film such as this.

As I am beginning to type my thoughts I know that I might upset some people. So I ask that you forgive my lack of knowledge on this matter. To begin I admit this movie was great. The scenery was amazing, awesome sights. The music I found went very well with the action and the emotions being portrayed. I enjoyed every moment. The only nag I had was Exactly what made this man a legend. This is my second movie of an Aussie Outlaw the first being The story of Ned Kelly Both were extremely well made and the scenes again very beautiful. But in this one I fail to see the grandeur of his how to say outlawness if that is a word. I know the movie doesn't show every robbery that he has done but is also failed to show us exploits that were done to earn him a title such as Legend. There is at one point were one of the men in the posse set out to catch his asks the others if they had ever dealt with Ben before and one man says yes and then another tells a story that you really can't tell if it was true or not but yet again the stories were ordinary stories nothing seemed exaggerated where as when men talk about a legend they always tend to make the story larger than life its self. After all isn't it part of being a legend to have people exaggerate your exploits. To me the only thing that seemed to be exaggerated is the title. The Legend of Ben Hall. OK you can throw your rocks at me know. But I did really much like the movie. as one review stated ,it gave a good glimpse into how life was back in those days and how far ones neighbours are in times of need. I personally love these type of Aussie movies.

Code Red (2013)

Not bad at all

You know not every film maker starts out trying to create an Oscar award winning film. Just like you and me who go in to work they simply try to do their best with what they got. This film is not a great film but a good film. After viewing I didn't get that "oh what a waste of time" feeling. It was good. You got the feeling that everybody tried hard. Sure there are some problems with it but no matter what you Watch you will always find problems with something. This movie didn't make it an struggle to Watch to the end. you kind of want too all by yourself. So far it's got a score of what 5.7 well that sounds totally logical to me. I myself give it a 6 out of 10. To all involved Thanks for the Entertainment. Their is one thing I would like to thank everyone for especially. This film didn't feel the need to throw in bare breast to help bring more viewers. I've got nothing against bare breasts in films but too many times it is used as a ploy to get Young males to Watch. Bare breast have their place when used properly. Now I don't know if this was done intentionally or if the main actress simply refused to do it. but well done. In this movie it would have just cheapened the movie. So again Thanks to all involved.

Compliance (2012)

Great movie,

It is very rare for me to actually give a 9 to a movie, if the movie is good , good I give 5 then if it is better than good I go up but a nine has to be something special. This film is just that , something special.

I read a review where the person gave it a one because it made that person extremely irate. well for me if a movie brings out that much intensity whether good or bad than it did it's job and more and doesn't deserve a one. Again this movie does.

Myself I began to get uptight at about the 10 min mark and as the movie progressed I got more and more frustrated. Fustrated at the victim for being the victim, at the manager and employees and husband for being gullible, and yes the caller for what he is doing and who he is. But my frustration was different towards each. Not different in force or amount of frustration but in the type of frustration. I wanted to console, confront and beat the hell out of somebody all at the same time and for the entire time of the movie.

When the movie ended I wanted to do something to try at least to help from this ever happening again. If a movie drive you in that way then what else can you ask for.

I feel some people have watched this and gave it a bad score because of certain scenes of the young girl. I too feel those scenes could have been more (pg) and it would have still brought the effects wanted. But because of a couple of nudity scenes in the movie itself I can not all of a sudden say it was a bad movie even if I would have preffered a more pg scene. I have to look at it as a whole and as a whole it really got to me. The way it was filmed and the lighting and all I kind of felt like I was an employee there at the time but unable to do anything about it.

They say this was taken from real events. Did this really happen? I don't know but it is certainly believable. I have seen certain employers think they have certain rights and certain employee bullied into believing them. Nothing such as in this film but still abuse of power by any means of the term.

I recommend this movie to people of all ages but if you are parents of teenage girls I would definitely try to get them to watch it too. Great job to all involved Thanks for the 90 min of anxiety, frustration and terror hihihi.

This movie tries very hard to be something it is not....Good. I read every review before watching it and I watch encouraged to the thought like one stated this movie doesn't take it 's audience as fools.

From my view point I just finish watching a movie that pulled out every single stereotype and put them all together into 1 movie.

It 's just too much but yet i'm no fool just Stupid for believing the reviews. Any how I stated that this movie could be summed up in 5 words and those words are "What the hell was that" If I had to write the plot keywords for this movie i guess they would be : Abduction, Rape, crime,drugs, racism, hillbilly, ex-cop, porn, gay porn, serial killer, drug abuse, cults, etc etc.. The list goes one. Yet I still have but 5 words for this, What the hell was that

Zombie Undead (2010)

I went into this movie knowing off hand that it was a zombie movie and that I should not expect a master piece or even an Avatar sort of movie. What I got was ...well. ..how can I say ...... man! I hate to be negative about somebodies hard work. This movie had me confuse and wanting to turn it off after the first 20 min. The script was really not good. The actors at times tried, tried very hard and at times a little too hard. It didn't seem natural at all. For a zombie movie the lighting was way too bright. The sound was terrible. it sounded like the sound was bouncing around. it was very echoing. Add techno noise to that for music and you just made yourself a headache. Looking at any actor, not a single one made there role seem convincing at any point of time except for maybe one guy who was playing a man dead lying on the ground. It's a shame he wasn't one of the lead actors. I'm not going to say that is was predictable or that there were plot holes cause after all I did say I knew I was going to watch a zombie movie. There pretty much all that way. Every once in a while however you come across one that is a tad different or is really well made. This is not one of those. Sad, very sad. Was this a waste of time ??? I'll let you decide that for yourself. All i'm going to say is if you want to watch this don't pay a fortune to do so. wait until you can either get it real cheap or free

Smoke Screen (2010 TV Movie)

A decent Movie to watch

I know, It's not really a new movie or anything like that. I just got around to watching this one now, as I am writing and I am actually pleasantly surprised by this one. I find the visual aspect of it was very good. It doesn't have those made for TV looks. The audio too is good. The plot is interesting and I can't really admit to foreseeing the end before its time. Well at least not at where I am presently.(she just go run off the road by someone who was listening to her cell phone call) There are a few point that one could possible be irritated with. But in all nothing really major. As mentioned by others, the relationship that forms between the two main actors doesn't really seem plausible but yet how many movies have we all seen where two actors going through a rough patch have an intimate relationship. Probably every one, so I don't think this really destroys the movie.I doesn't give it a boost either I should say. If your looking for a movie that is not action packed and that the plot holds up and you don't want to waste time then I really think you should give this one a shot.

I wrote a review for a different film yesterday and stated that if you were to put on a kid happy face and watch the movie you would really enjoy it. I read both reviews for this movie and guess what, I don't get it. I tried watching this lightly, I mean as a child would do, not trying to pick out errors, or faults just sat down and tried really hard to enjoy, but I couldn't. This movie just doesn't do it for me. I read in a review that this was a surprise after another and very well done. Me six year old son told me everything that was going to happen before it did and he had not seen it before. Everything was completely predicable. The script was original for sure. For a two year old. I hate writing something negative about a film but sometimes you just have to say the truth and deal with it. The acting was.....well you know when someone is trying, really trying to play a role but he just doesn't fit the part. and to compensate he starts to over act. Well every single actor does this except for one. The best out of all actors. That would be the baby of course. There is actually one scene were I watch and both actors involved actually made be believe in them for that very short scene. The scene was when the omega kid hits on his buddy's hot mom in the kitchen. That 10 second interaction between the two actually looked real for there characters.

Sometimes a movie can be so stupid that it is actually that fact that makes it so funny. Not here, not by a long shot. I won't say don't watch it ,I'll let you decide. But if you do decide to watch it please come back and tell me where I went wrong. What should I have done differently in order not to view this in a negative way, if at all possible.

Soldiers of Fortune (2012)

Don't trust your first impression.

First I am glad that I didn't read any of the reviews before watching this. I think that if I had I might not have bothered watching it. I know now that I would have lost something, a few good laughs. The first 15 minutes I wanted to turn it off and watch something else but I gave it a chance and then surprisingly it got a lot better. I didn't try to watch it as a serious movie but more of a comedy and it worked, worked great. I just loved to see a bunch of rich pampered babies get bullied for once it was so much fun. Look not a great movie but damn was it fun to watch. I laughed like I had not done for a long time. To watch this movie with a critical eye is just not the way to watch it. just sit down , relax and put on your young kid eyes and laugh.

Not bad. Not bad at all. When it first started I almost stopped it due to the visual aspect of it. I really can't explain it it just looked cheap. But then I got to see a few actors I recognized and decided to give it a chance. I am actually glad I did that. turns out the movie had me on the edge for a good time. Not the entire length but a good portion. I really liked the kid, turns out he is my second favorite serial killer. My first of course being Dexter. hihihi

There was one cast member that I could have done without and I must say that it's not really the actors fault either. The girls. Boy oh boy I just hated every time she would scream. I mean she is there trying to hide in the woods from 4 killers and she screams her lungs out.A little later she does the same thing and they attach a few sound effects to it to try and make it even more shrilling. It annoyed me more that anything else. Derek Mears, wow I love watching this guy. He was awesome.

I really enjoyed the face the step brother made when he saw his step sister kill the first bad guy. hihihihihi He just lit up, from a odd young lonely kid to someone who just found a new best friend. hihihi Great face. I kind of wish there were more bad guys. hihihihihi I really enjoyed this. I realize this movie brought nothing really new to the screen but hey remakes are made all the time, year after year. Doesn't mean there all bad. as one already stated, another home alone but more violent. Hey, Home alone was good. Oh and just for the record I don't normally take for the serial killers hihihihi. Only when they are good. hihihi

Stash House (2012)

Got what I expected, Not that bad of a movie.

I will start off by saying that I am a Dolph Lundgren fan. I will however say that I have not loved every movie he has made but I am still a fan. I like how he plays his roles as honest as possible. He doesn't fake it to try to be something he is not. He is not a great actor but a good and honest actor he always give 100% of himself.

That being said I can not rate the movie on that and him alone. if you have seem some of his other films and enjoyed them well this one is pretty much the same. The cosmetic view point in this one is even better than normal for his style of films. The story was much better too and the rest of the actors played there part pretty good although I though Dolph was the best. Please don't expect a grand master piece when watching this, remember what type of movie you are going to watch and then sit down and enjoy. Too many people sit down to a Dolph Movie or Stallone or Jean-Claude Vandamme and expect a award winning movie. Why ? When has that ever occurred. Then they say it was a waste of time. .... well sure if that is what they were expecting , they're right but it wasn't the movie's fault.

I sat through this and just relaxed and enjoyed like ones supposed to do.

Rosewood Lane (2011)

Reveiwing a movie is open to our own personal opinion and everyone is entitled to there own opinion. For me I read all reviews posted here and although I enjoyed this movie I do agreed with some of the negative reviews that states that it was slow moving and a bit lacking on thrills. That alone however doesn't mean it was a bad movie or as some state "aweful waste of time." Now to add to there points they start reviewing the size of an actors lips, or the age of another who supposed to be a kid or even criticize product placement in the first have.

I think that when you have to find such small items to pick on then in fact the movie wasn't all that bad. Other negative reviews write sentences with single words longer than my complete name put together. But if you read exacting what they are writing and yes with the help of a dictionary you soon realize that some just use big words to give themselves a certain look because at the end of there conclusion all those big words just basically mean nothing, just like a politicians reply to a question he doesn't want to really answer honestly.

I'm not saying this was a great movie but I am saying that I enjoyed it. I did not get that "hey I was robbed "feeling once it was over. Sure It had some unanswered issues but nothing major. They could have done certain things differently yes but they didn't. What I watched is what they did and I must be honest on what I saw. Good . Good movie.

One thing though is that they call it a horror film and that is where maybe some of the bad reviews are coming from. Disappointed horror film fans. This is not a horror film but I would say more of a mild thriller. If I was in the mood for a good horror film and saw this I would have been disappointed too.

Blood Money (I) (2012)

I read a lot of the past reviews and yes there are areas in this movie that are at times confusing and yes we can not clearly understand every word our hero is saying and heck yes some of the special effects are very badly done. The plot was not exactly clear either. However that all being said, I must say that when I sat down to watch this I wasn't expecting an academy award winning, Oscar taking movie, no I was simply expecting the old style martial arts movies from the old days,and yes, even a Bruce Lee style movie, and for me that is exactly what I got. I have yet to sit down to a martial arts movie and expect an Oscar, no I expect great fight scenes and this movie has that for sure. We don't get a choppy fight scene where the screen cuts from one angle to another after every punch to hide the fact that the stunt person is actually doing it, no this movie lets you see a continuous flow of action during the fights and not close up on the face or arm or leg but on the whole body in motion. The main actor here might not have been a Bruce Lee cause there will never be another Bruce but as far as his fighting style on screen he would make Bruce proud. Visual physical poetry in motion. It's true I give this movie a 5 which is good, and thats just because of the great fight scenes.

I guess I want to agree with pretty much everything MBunge from Waterloo, Iowa wrote in his/her review. (sorry Not sure about gender just by screen name) The first thing I did when it was over was to go online to see if maybe there was a series coming this season along the line of this movie. I really mistook it for a pilot for a new series. Tell you the truth I would like to see it done too. Yeah sure I gave it a 4 but for me thats not a really a bad thing cause for me 5 is Good anything about means beyond good and slightly below doesn't mean it sucked, of course a 1 would say that but I didn't give it a 1. I enjoyed the Story, I enjoyed the acting and actors,I enjoyed most of the script, the flashbacks were not that much of a problem but there was something about how this movie looked that I just couldn't believe it actually cost 3 million. I mean even if they had grade A actors and so it felt like a very low b film.

Anyhow , I don't feel as though I wasted my time nor money but I wouldn't push to be in the front of the line to see it either.

I first rated this a 5 but I started to have great regrets and had to give it what it merited and not what I wished it did. So I went from 5 to 3 and 3 is still a little on the preferential side. I guess that the fact that this is supposed to be a true story and that I respect the generation who fought for us in WWII I was really hoping this was a movie of the year kind of deal. But sadly no. nothing at all in common can be said. As some already pointed out, the use of close ups can be a very effective tool, I agree but when your close up last so long as too actually start counting the actors pimples well it kind of becomes more of a distraction. The Acting, ....I'm not even going to comment on that. too difficult. This could of been such a great movie if a little effort and of course budget was invested into it. A little heart. I really think this movie would have been a lot better if the actual guys who where there just told the story themselves in a docustory . I normally try to find something nice to say somewhere even if the movie was bad but in this case I have to make an exception. Sorry. The only good thing about it is that is came from a true event.

The Sleeper (2012)

Surprising

This movie is everything I read in the review I read here. It is an80's style slasher film. Acting is not that bad,filming,lighting, sound, not bad. Especiallyconsideringthe budget. Make you kind of wonder what this crew could do with a budget of a million or more and very much more what did some directors do with the millions they had for their work and ended up a lot worst than this here. I actually liked this movie. Of course there is nothing new here, it has all been said and done several times over. That being said it has been 30 years since so it was kind of a trip to go down this lane again. If I was to compare the quality overall of this film vs the budget that did it with I would truly have to say great job. I have seen too many million dollar films that were just so awful and to have this quality for so little its just surprising.

Sand Sharks (2012)

Plagiarism is defined in dictionaries as the "wrongful appropriation," "close imitation," or "purloining and publication" of another author's "language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions," and the representation of them as one's own original work (as copied from Wikipedia) The filming, camera work ,lighting, music and even some of the acting is OK to quite good, but God O'mighty the idea, and even most of the scenes are exactly like Jaws. At least the beginning of it that is. I don't recall if there were any scenes in the film that were not actually predictable when it wasn't being copied from jaws. ah yes I do remember,there weren't any. I wouldn't say that this movie is a complete waste of time because some of the crews actually worked very hard on this and I wouldn't want to neglect their work nor efforts, however that being said I am definitely not talking about the writers, producers or director. They should know better. I am glad to have watched this at home and not at a theatre where I would have to pay a large amount for it.

River of Darkness (2011)

Expected more out of everyone and everything.

Look I love wrestling, been a fan now for close to 40 years now. Just because I love wrestling it doesn't mean I love all the wrestler's movies, but I do make a point of watching them all. Call me curious or respectful but I must see them all. I was anxious to see this one I had heard of it I forget how exactly but when I saw saw it was available I grabbed it. To be completely honest, the part that I liked the most was when it ended and all the credits had gone by. Sorry, I guess I just expected so much more, especially from Kurt Angle, Not as much from his acting but from his acceptance to be in this movie. I never expect Academey award winning performances from my favorit wrestlers but I do expect them to at least be fussy about what class of movie their going to appear in. As a wrestler he is always very believable and sometimes I tend to wonder if he really is acting or not. So, got to admit, that's good acting no! Too bad he didn't do the same in this movie though. Even though he was probably the best out of them all. Kevin Nash should study the undertaker's movements if he wants to play more living dead characters, way too smooth, I seen him do a better zombie imitation in a wrestling ring. Sad.....

Apart from acting everything was terrible. The lighting, the stunts, special effects. For me, that is what really sunk this movie. If it was just a far as acting I could have rated this higher But no. My first 1 vote in history. Sorry. I just expected more.

Held Up (2010 TV Movie)

Simply Hilarious.

This is the first time I actually take time to write a review about a movie I watched, But I just could not help myself. I had no idea what to expect here and I hate low budget films. The first few seconds of this film I was not in my seat so I didn't realize that this was low Budget but the moment I sat down took a look at the screen I said to myself 'darn!'. The moment I heard the first line spoken an unforced laugh came from my mouth. I was hooked. Right there. I laughed throughout the entire movie. I didn't look for errors or reality I just let myself laugh, and this movie had what it took to help me along. The visual aspect of this film I would not rate to high at all but the script was so funny it made watching easier cause as I said I really dislike B budget films. Why did I rate this so high.... cause it is the funniest film I ever seen. Don't let the cheap filming fool you. Watch the movie.
