Wrestlers (2023– )
9/10
The real side of the wrestling industry
13 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I'm 4 episodes in and I'm loving this show. It's both sad and heartwarming at the same time. We follow the adventures of Ohio Valley Wrestling, a C grade wrestling territory that has been around for 20 years or more. It's where many of the WWE stars came from like Brock Lesnar, John Cena ect. Now it's just a shadow of its former glory. The whole show is run by former WWE wrestler Al Snow who is the leader of this rag tag group of misfits. Made up of people who will never make it in the business except for a few who the show focuses on. While it sounds depressing as hell it's not, it's fascinating meeting and getting to know the characters that become wrestlers. There is highs and lows, an owner who doesn't get the business at all and a bunch of people who have sacrificed everything to chase their dream. Just watch and enjoy without judgement because these are all real people who deserve respect. I really hope they make a second season.

Carnifex (2022)
3/10
Beware the Drop Bear!
27 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Carnifex is a micro budget Australian "horror" movie. It follows 3 conservationists as they trek the bush and stumble into the territory of the CARNIFEX, a bad CGI cross between a koala and a wombat on steroids. Thats about it as far as plot goes and the 3 characters are pretty standard for a creature feature. It takes a long time to get started but the scenery is nice and does build some atmosphere as it goes. Once the drop bear, sorry I mean carnfex attacks it's all the usual stuff you would expect.

Overall it's not bad as long as you go in with low expectations. A good late night horror movie to go to sleep while watching.

The Horde (2016 Video)
3/10
Is it Action or Horror?
8 May 2016
Warning: Spoilers
As far as a horror movies go this isn't all bad. Yes it's killer hillbillys plus some torture porn thrown in. Yes it definitely follows the numbers of the killer hillbilly genre. However the Rambo hero played by Paul Logan who is a terrible actor really lets the whole thing down. OK we have all the annoying teenagers going camping in the woods you usually get in these sort of movies but let's face it watch these movies for the killers right. This is where this movie rises above we have Vernon Wells(Commando,The Road Warrior) Costas Mandylor(Saw Franchise) Matthew Willig(Year One) plus more as our bad guys. These guys aren't the Wrong Turn type of killers but escaped cons holding up with a few locals in the woods. The movie plays out more like an action movie however and this is where it goes wrong. Our hero slashes his way through the cast of baddies with ease therefore taking out any sort of tension the The Horde tried to build. I have to blame the director for this because they had good actors not given enough screen time(Bill Mossely as a bartender, Nestor Serrano as a cop what a waste) so Paul Logan can flex his way through. To sum up not the worst out there but far from the best.

Halloween II (2009)
3/10
ummm well what can I say
12 June 2012
Warning: Spoilers
First of all I love Rob Zombie and I love Halloween movies so I'm not sure what happened here. The first Halloween remake was good for the first half but lost me when it went onto the actuall remake part and sadly its the same with part two. I enjoyed the first fifteen minutes or so set in the hospital but then it was all downhill. Laurie was such a sooky bitch in this that I spent the whole movie hoping she would get killed. Brad Dourif is always good and manages to save this mess a litttle bit. Now the plot Michael returns pushed on by two ghosts one his mother and the other a child version of himself(WTF)to finish the job he started in part one and thats about it. One of the reasons I really didn't like this was because Rob unmasked Michael and he went that way most of the movie(big no no Mr Zombie) and the Loomis Character just seemed pointless as he spent most of the movie plugging his book. I realize the old school Halloween sadly died when Donald Pleasence did but is this what we will be left with?
