The Lords of Salem (2012)
Stupidest movie I have ever seen
I loved all of the other Rob Zombie movies I have ever seen, but watching this was a complete waste of my life. There was absolutely nothing scary about this. It was more disturbing (if that!) than anything. Horrible "special effects" (and I think calling them that is being overly generous). It definitely had the potential to be an interesting horror story but, in the end, it absolutely fell short. In fairness, there were a few interesting twists in the story which were unexpected, however, in it's overall execution and screenplay, it simply flopped -- WAYYYY short of anything remotely close to "the most amazing piece of cinema released in the last decade" as a previous reviewer had written. If for some unforeseen reason, I had actually paid money to see or accidentally bought this DVD, I would be one truly unhappy customer and demand a refund. I happened to see it for free and still was so disappointed I was motivated to come to IMDb and share my disappointment solely with the hopes of saving someone else the hour and a half of wasted life. RZ must have been high as a kite to think this was worthy of being released.
End of Watch (2012)
Good movie but horrible ending
I enjoyed the movie but the ending was really a let down. They built the story up very nicely and then it just ended totally empty. I really thought the movie was going somewhere and then—BOOM!—everything just completely fell apart. It almost felt like they just didn't know where to go with it at a certain point.
It had a nice mix of drama, comedy, romance (and "bromance", lol) and everything was really well done besides the let down of an ending. I am not sure if maybe they were trying to leave the door open to a sequel maybe? Either way, it's not a movie I'd recommend for friends solely because in the end, I kind of felt like I just wasted my time.
Sleepwalk with Me (2012)
As mediocre as mediocre gets
Really boring movie for a supposed "comedy." There is very little to write about and most of the movie is just one, long, dull flat-line. The main character is boring, the plot is almost non-existent and there was maybe one or two lines through the whole thing that even warranted a chuckle. I generously gave it 5 stars ONLY because in contrast, I've seen some REALLY horrible movies.
I have no idea what else to say about this movie but apparently am required to write at least 10 lines.
The only interesting aspect of the flick are the times where you're not sure if he's dreaming or not which forces you to pay extra close attention. Otherwise, you may very well find yourself falling asleep to this which is the last thing you'd expect when you turn on a comedy.
