The Other Boleyn Girl (2008)
Interesting movie
I enjoyed this movie for several reasons. I'm really not into history all that much, but since Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johanssen were in it I thought I would give it a chance. I really liked how they portrayed the parents as willing to do anything in order to gain favor with the king and all of the important people. That is just like human nature and they portrayed it wonderfully. They were really making a sacrifice in jeopardizing the chastity of their daughters in order to become more important and what not. I wish that they would have shown Mary's husband's reaction a little more. I guess he was just okay with the whole situation or really didn't care that his wife was having an affair with the king. There was probably nothing he could do about it. I would recommend this to anyone who is in the mood for an interesting and intriguing movie.
Shutter (2008)
Cool ending!
I am not a huge fan of horror movies, but occasionally I do get in the mood to watch one. I was intrigued by the concept of the movie. Also, I wanted to see Joshua Jackson in a role that was different from Pacey Witter or Charlie Conway. I did enjoy the movie for the most part. It did drag in some parts, overall, the pace worked well. It intensified at the end. I would recommend this movie solely because the twisted ending. Just when you think it's over, bam! They throw you for a loop. Maybe some people saw it coming, but I for one tend to get lost in the movie and sometimes I don't see the obvious. I really do recommend this movie. It's not too gruesome, which is also a bonus.
Blonde Ambition (2007)
Promotion for Aquafresh
I knew this movie wasn't going to be amazing, but I thought I would give it a chance. I am a fan of Luke Wilson so I thought it had potential. Unfortunately, a lot of the movie's dialog was very fake sounding and cheesy. I think that Aquafresh gave some money towards the production of the film because they were seriously dropping some hints throughout. There is a shot where the Aquafresh sign sticks out at you that you can't help but notice it. Maybe they should have focused on writing and acting more than how many times can we drop Aquafresh products in the movie without people getting annoyed. The movie had its moments, but I'm glad I didn't spend $9.50 to see it in the theater.
Love Wrecked (2005)
Cute movie
I wouldn't say this movie changed my life or anything, but it was very cute and romantic. I also enjoyed seeing "Carlton" from the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. I think that this is the first time I've seen him in something other than that show. Amanda Bynes is absolutely adorable in this film. She is slowly becoming one of my favorite young actresses. Jamie-Lynn Sigler is great as well. This movie had a "Disney Channel" feel to it. I thought it was like something that you would see that would have the tag "Disney Channel Original movie." However, the movie was entertaining and I really did enjoy it. I would recommend it to anyone who was in the market for a sweet lighthearted film.
Death Sentence (2007)
weird, started out good, got worse throughout
I was very disappointed with this movie for several reasons. I saw this movie preview on another DVD so I sought it out. The concept is great. I definitely sympathized with the main character and was empathetic towards the family. At the beginning of the movie I felt this way. However, as the movie progressed I really found it hard to relate to the main character and his transformation throughout. I just couldn't believe that his anger could have been that strong. I don't know. Whenever he escaped the hospital is when I got annoyed. Why didn't the cops go after him? He murdered people. Why weren't the cops looking for Billy? He did murder two police officers! Like I said the concept was great, but it seemed like they didn't know what to do with it as the movie went on.
27 Dresses (2008)
great movie
I really loved this movie! I thought it was so sweet and romantic. I absolutely loooooooooved Katherine Heigl. She did an amazing job with this role. She portrayed the role of Jane unbelievably.
Every time I hear "Benny and the Jets" on the radio I think of this movie now. It has that kind of effect on you.
I really love the way that Tess and Jane's relationship is handled. It is very realistic. I could definitely see that happening in real life.
I would recommend this movie to anyone. I think that guys and girls alike could definitely enjoy this movie. This could definitely be a date movie. It's not overly "girly" that guys wouldn't enjoy it.
WALL·E (2008)
Great film!
I really loved Wall-E! It was a very cute movie and I loved every bit of it. It wasn't my favorite Disney/Pixar movie, but it was great. I fell in love with Wall-E after just a few minutes into the movie. It had a different twist than the other Disney/Pixar movies, but it was very good. I would definitely recommend this film to everyone. The only negative factor is the fact that there is not a lot of dialogue. It worked, but it would have been nice if there would have been some more dialogue. Wall-E will definitely be going on my Christmas list this year. :) Kudos to Disney/Pixar. You have created another classic for us to enjoy.
