Superman & Lois: 30 Days and 30 Nights (2022)
Fantastic. All the feels
Wow.
I usually don't review and rate episodes, but this episode brought multiple arcs and emotions with perfect execution.
Up to this point, the cinematography, music, and dialogue have been great.
Nat and John Henry's arc has been slow burning to this point. The presentation had me in tears.
The election coming to a decision was mixed in well with Kyle's struggles.
This episode feels like the one-off episode where all of the supporting characters gets to have their stories on full display and development.
I really enjoyed the build up and presentation of Jordan's developing powers.
I can go on - this is my favorite episode so far in the series.
Mr. Robot: 407 Proxy Authentication Required (2019)
Amazing
The cozy, play style was a different, but fitting environment for so much to unravel in one episode. Split into 5 acts - we get some character development, reveals, and a shocking turn of events. I was at the edge of my seat and the payoff is satisfying.
Star Wars Rebels: Trials of the Darksaber (2017)
Great episode
Love this episode exploring the backstory of Sabine, history and lore of the Darksaber.
I believe this is a tie in from the Clone Wars when Maul took Mandalore.
The ending scene might be my favorite so far - passionate, great fight, and all still giving you the childlike joy of Star Wars.
Star Wars Rebels: The Last Battle (2016)
amazing tie in from clone wars to rebels
This was trip down memory lane for rex and clone wars fans.
I love these my enemy's enemy is my ally episodes.
Love the exploration of what it means to fight a war, its purpose, and working together.
Best season 3 episode so far. This feels like an unintentional way of ending the clone wars properly (before there was final clone wars season was created)
Star Wars Rebels: Twilight of the Apprentice: Part 1 (2016)
captivating
My favorite episode by far so far in the series.
Introducing maul is brilliant. One of the best characters arcs from the clone wars. Such a dark, sinister man, but yet so understandable with his beliefs we almost sympathize with him.
I love the exploration of the dark side.
To beat the enemy, know thy enemy. Even if that makes exploring it yourself.
Stargate: Atlantis: Common Ground (2006)
The best episode from season 3
An iconic episode that paves the way for the rest of the series.
Stargate: Atlantis: Enemy at the Gate (2009)
Sad to see it end
I came very late to the show once I saw that it was available with Amazon Prime.
We should be grateful it got an ending and not a cliffhanger.
Season 5 was a bit of a drag and It felt like we crawled to the finish line.
The finale had a bit of everything:
- Nostalgia -- the chair, the city going into orbit/hyper drive, seeing the inside of the Hive ship one last time.
- Atlantis returning to Earth.
- The banter between Sheppard and Todd. I'm glad they didn't go away from their usually respectful but cautious bond. Even until the end, both guys still kept their biases for each other's kind.
Yes, there are parts that were a bit too convenient like the wormhole travel, Todd having two zpms at his disposal (how many more is he hiding! oh well it doesn't matter now), the stargate placed on a Hive ship (I mean it was initially smart to act as a stargate block), and enough firepower from one nuke to take out a hive. I also found it interesting that they didn't decide to give anyone an honorable death scene, given that the the show was canceled. The only character that actually dies is Weir. It would have been nice to at least feel the weight of losing Ronan.
Enjoyed the show and its diifferent plot arcs. They really under used Teyla, Ronan in the latter seasons. I'm going to miss the stargate dialing sound, those obligatory medieval world episodes and ancient tech we never knew more about. I'll miss the entire cast excluding McKay.
Stargate: Atlantis: Sanctuary (2004)
One of the best episodes from the first season
Up to this point the season has been up and down in terms of interest and pace. This one stood as one of my favorites. I'm a sucker for the one-off episodes where we get to see a different side of a character, in this case Major Sheppard.
The majority of the season has been plot driven but it was nice to see a change of pace with a more character driven story telling. Romance and spirituality (which wasn't really explored up to this point) added a nice touch to this episode. I wish we saw more from Chaya, but like the food from their picnic (the last left from earth), we will just have to enjoy it.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Inescapable (2019)
Great episode to remind us of the power of Fitzsimmons
One of my favorite episodes in AoS is the solo episode with Gemma alone in space. Such a contrast to the pacing of the show and provides great character development.
This episode is similar but still unique - it explores the individual pasts of both Gemma and Fitz as well as their relationship. There are definitely some bones to uncover.
We get a reminder of the unbreakable bond and love of FitzSmmons, all while building seamlessly into the story line.
These solo (in this case duo) episodes are gems.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: New Life (2019)
Potential wasted - sort of. Still enjoyable. Enough to keep me invested to see the last season through.
While I feel the writing has been pretty good and within character, I felt Izel and Sarge's character arcs were a bit wasted. They were certainly finished but I was left with many questions about their motives, their histories, and the why. A good villain is one that you can understand their goals and motives (see Thanos, and Mysterio recently for Spiderman FFH). Why should we be scared of the Shrike and the people through the portal/monoliths?
Dialogue was pretty solid between the cast. Their chemistry is basically second nature at this point. I wished they would create an arc for Daisy but oh well. I hope it's not money/contract related.
The action and CGI felt a bit low budget for a season finale. The special effects for season 5's finale was insane! It felt like they blew most of their budget for the season opener and first half of this season.
I'm still grateful we got a season 6 and one last season to go.
