Shrinking (2023)
It wants to be a comedy but it's not funny
A psychiatrist who doesn't know how to interact with people, gives questionable advices to clients, gets into fights and has some kind of pseudo emergency every single day that he is unable to resolve.
His daughter has no personality whatsoever, his neighbor wants to replace her daughter's deceased mom for some reason and tons of LGBT characters to tick the rainbow checkbox that is required today in every movie and tv show.
This show is very shallow, too dumb to be taken seriously and not fun enough to be a comedy. I do not recommend unless you want to watch it while vacuuming your living room.
Imawa no Kuni no Arisu (2020)
Overdramatized piece of crap
Characters are shallow, acting is poor, actors are crying non stop over petty things and for long time, and worst of all, every single piece of action is just not realistic at all. I understand this is fiction, but come on, at least try to make it more relatable. Fighting scenes are too long and unremarkable. Bad guys are slow, clumsy, stupid and without energy. Good guys are the luckiest ever, surfing between the bullets and when injured are able to chill and heal on the streets faster than in a hospital. This would be a nice comedy if characters were not crybabies.
As others already pointed out, this tv show is probably for younger, or at least more impressionable, audience.
Dubai Bling (2022)
People need to chill down
It's not a perfect show but it is more than enjoyable to watch. Emirati are actually represented despite what people are commenting. Let's not forget that in the UAE local population represents 10% only.
The tv show has literally "bling" in the title and people find a way to complain about it because of the misrepresentation. Hello? It is perfectly representing rich population in dubai. You/We are not part of it, but is real. This is not about poor or middle class, which also exists. It seems people just like to spit on dubai regardless of the topic.
Thank you netflix for bringing such a show and showing the other side of dubai.
Judah Friedlander: America Is the Greatest Country in the United States (2017)
Judah is a savage!
He has the ability to joke about any topic thrown at him, it's impressive. You will be entertained from start to the end. Tons of sarcasm and ironie, exactly how it should always be.
No Time to Die (2021)
James Bond franchise destroyed
Ok so I will preface this by saying I'm all for empowerment of minorities and women. But I don't like seeing my favourite franchise being totally destroyed in the name of that empowerment.
James Bond is supposed to be a bad ass man, seductive and reckless. Here we watch him being overly attached to one women and becoming a father and replaced by a black woman in his role of 007... This is ridiculous and heartbreaking. If you want to create a black woman franchise, please do so, I'll be happy to watch it and enjoy it. But don't destroy its legacy by making him someone he never was.
Utopia (2020)
Disappointed
Most of the positive ratings come from the people who didn't saw the original series.
This tv show tries hard to be a perfect remake, so much that it completely misses all the important parts, the soul of the original: the music, the characters, the pace of the story...
Arby character is totally butchered and has no depth, Jessica Hide is unlikable etc. Overall, the actors are just bad unfortunately, and the directing is mediocre.
This was pain to watch after watching the original. I can understand that this show can be of interest to those discovering Utopia just now, but if you put some effort and find the original and watch it, you'll come back here to lower the rating to 1 too.
Peace.
