Your Place or Mine (2023)
Predictable but fun
You know how sometimes you just need to "come back home" to the old and familiar? Let your brain get some rest and just stick with what you know? This movie is just that. It's not going to win any awards for originality, creativity, or innovation, but it offers everything you need in a feel-good rom-com -
- Actors everyone loves (Reese is always fun to watch and how is Ashton so hot?!) - check
- A somewhat relatable story (yay for rom-coms for people in their early 40s)
- Good supporting actors that aren't stealing the show - check
- A predictable ending that you're waiting for - check
It could be a bit shorter than it is, but all in all it's a fun movie. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a fun watch that makes you feel at home.
WandaVision: The Series Finale (2021)
The perfect show with a lousy ending
It has nothing to do with the theory videos.
It was just a a bad ending to a show that has managed to lay out what seemed to be a deep and complex world, while the last episode just felt like someone said - listen, guys, just wrap it up and somehow close all the loose ends, k?
- A big bad witch? Nah, she's not that strong after all.
- Another Vision? In the most deus ex machina kind of way, Vision just conveniently convinces him he's got all his memories and brings them back and then he just disappears.
- A Fietro? Haha look at the necklace.
- Another big baddy? Let's crash a car to his car.
Yeah, it did have some heart wrenching moments and some open questions left, but all in all such meh ending. So unimaginative.
Such a shame for what has seemed to be Marvel's best works of art.
Jane the Virgin: Chapter Ninety-Four (2019)
There is no actual plot
This season feels like they wanted to have 100 episodes but didn't really have a storyline for it.
No real character development, no motives.
The good old will-they-or-wont-they is getting old.
I mean, this episode actually had a 90 second break of Petra waiting. It felt like "ha ha, look viewers, we don't really have anything to wrote about so let's just let the time pass".
Last season and its ending was so perfect. It's a shame that such a good show became so pointless.
The Affair: Episode #4.10 (2018)
Life is so complicated sometimes
Loved this episode.
Actually loved it *because* it didn't have any twists or spins, and it focused more on the main characters and how they handle their life after this crazy season.
And it was all too relatable, that monent where you just look around you when everything else burns and you take a deep breath and realize this life is effing crazy and you just stand back up and try to deal with everything that happened. Great episode.
