Resident Evil (2022)

I don't like the leads

I think their acting is over exaggerated and there were many things that don't make sense for a resident evil show. The previous resident evil with mila felt like miles better. I don't mind the drama and the back stories but the way it was filmed and character development with relationship with the girls and their dad were very cringe-ing. I like the monsters effects though. From the dogs the zeroes, lickers and spicy and even the gator!

I think the special effects and the cinematography were all great. Only the characters that spoils it.

I think the choice of characters and the way it's been played could have been so much better, and less irritating. I really wonder, why film extremely vulgar, teenage brats...

Blue Miracle (2021)

Heart warming, not cliche, and inspiring!

The way the movie is done is real, the color and cinematography is really nice, the script and story are solid and, I like the characters. Overall, the film has really some good production value. The soundtrack and the directing are great too! I think this makes one of the better inspirational real life movies in 2021. I truly enjoyed the moments watching the show and I think it's a great family movie to watch.

It's funny, fun and action packed. Feels like Taken with a different kind of twists. Definitely worth watching. Look forward to sequels!

Space Sweepers (2021)

Beyond expectations!

For such a moving, action packed, dramatic, and great acting... with good sense of twist and turns... all packed in 2hr of story telling. I love it! There is a lot of emphasis on character development throughout the show. This show went way beyond my expectations and kept me engaged. There is also an undercurrent of lesson on morality as well with the main antagonist. There is not much emphasis on him and his organization but that's ok. Overall I think this is a fantastic production. It's not as classy as Star Wars or Marvel but I loved the pace of the story telling. IMDb rating 6.9 is UNDERRATED!!! It must be 7.5 or above!

I think the concept of how teenagers get transported into seasoned actors in a different world is something new to me. I really enjoyed the humor and the way the story flows. My wife and I enjoyed the movie thoroughly and we left the show feeling satisfied.

Risen (2016)

Intense, watch-worthy, and well-told story

I am a Christian, and I have the story of Jesus's crucifixion and resurrection pretty well in my mind and heart. I must say that the story is almost as accurate as it is written from the bible, and the actors did a fantastic job portraying the lives of the disciples back then.

I think the way Jesus is portrayed could have been better, with features that are less prominent, but I think it's down to individual and the director's opinion on this.

Having said that, the movie convicted me and gave me really nice-and-fresh perspectives of the lives of the people and how Jesus and the crucifixion is viewed by the non-believers of that time.

Personally, i think Christians should watch it to gain more insights and have a great 1.5hr of edutainment on the interactions and lives of the people in those days.

The film is engaging, and I was certainly glued to the screen!

The Giver (2014)

Awesome, Enjoyable Clean Fun

Sure its not the most realistic nor the most fast paced action drama like that equivalent to divergence or hunger games. However the message and content are rich and beautiful. The cinematography is awesome and well shot. The design of the scenario and futuristic environment is shown as accurately as they could feasibly imagine.

The emotions portrayed through the acting was realistic and really convincing. I also liked the coldness and the lack of emotion in the community as well.

Soundtrack is awesome, the background music helps with the suspense when it's needed, the interchanging of scenes between color and the greyness of the film is also very beautifully crafted.

I personally enjoy the film, so did my wife and i believe this will be a film worth keeping and watching again in time to come when my baby gal grows older.

Definitely worth my 1hr 40min!

Lucy (I) (2014)

Awesome fun and memorable

I don't think this is a simple brainless action show, but you can treat it so if you don't wish to to think much about it.

I felt that Scarlett captured the audience pretty well, in addition, the directing really engages the audience with anticipation. Morgan Freeman as the supporting lead was very-very suitable. All in all, I think this film is set with a decent pace, with a nice story to tell and to close. I finished the film feeling satisfied and happy with a nice thrill.

I totally recommend this title if you're looking at a nice action flick that has a little bit of depth, a bit unconventional and dark, yet no- nonsense action. The film do have some grotesque parts, especially with the blood and cutting up of tummy lines to hide drugs and all..

The Adventurer: The Curse of the Midas Box (2013)

Adventure, Light Hearted, Little bit of action, and a pleasant ending

If you're looking for a light-hearted evening show that gives a fun atmosphere, I'd say this is a show to go for. Not much special effects, kids friendly, simple and not-that-easily predictable.

I enjoy this show, I won't say that I love it, nor I think it's very well done. I think the acting and scenes are nicely put, just that the story and conversations, as well as how the flow should go, can be done better.

I'd definitely look forward to a sequel if there ever will be (i-doubt it), and i think the twists along the story are pretty neat.

I would say that there are moments that I went.. "come-on... he shouldn't have done that..", or "oh man, that's so stupid".. Still, if you like adventure, little-bit of the national treasure kinda flick, you'd like this movie sense of adventure and its ride.

Prisoners of the Sun (2013)

Oh this is bad

I don't think this movie is worth the time even on DVD! The movie brought us to an interesting concept where the undead can be commanded (not unusual) when there's some planetary alignment (not unusual either). It's an adventure, with a little action that I must say, gets me going to want to watch till the end. However so, the way the actors/actresses acted was not somehow convincing. To add matter worse, the way the story goes, especially towards the end, was nothing good too! I was very disappointed at this production, as this has the potential to make it quite interestingly-good. Unfortunately this movie is definitely-definitely not recommended.

R.I.P.D. (2013)

Fun, Relaxing and Very Enjoyable

I think all movies should be made majority this way. This is a brain-dead- fun-joyful and very entertaining movie. I liked all their wit-jokes and the progress of the movie. It's not too cliché and it's action packed.

The casts are well selected, and their acting is pretty good. The plot is original, can't figure any other shows like it, perhaps a little of the ghost-rider, ghost-buster and lone-ranger kinda set-up, but not too clichés.

No adulterous lewd scenes, just pure entertaining fun. I definitely recommend this for all action movie comedy fans who're tired of 'heavy' shows.

Drive (I) (2011)

Artistic and nice cinematography...but not something i can enjoy.

Personally, i think this movie is artistic and its camera angles, color and the way the expressions of actors and actresses were very-very captivating. However, with all these in mind, it's not a regular movie where i can sit, relax and enjoy the brainless action and simplicity.

This movie doesn't have a deep plot. Straightforward and Ryan Gosling didn't even have dialogue that lasted more than 5-sentences! Having said that, I must say that the casting is real good. Both lead actor and actress carried their emotions and characters real-well.

If you're an film-art kinda person, this is a movie for you... if you're like me,who prefers the usual action, adventure and less-gross kinda movies, then you ought to skip this. :)

The Cove (2009)

Exciting, Insightful and Meaningful..

Though I wonder why they have put so much efforts in making dolphins such an important species as compared to perhaps even human stricken by poverty etc... i realized it's a realization of how evil we as humans can be and how we should learn and see the world with a new perspective when we become selfish.

This film is a must watch! to understand cruelty, greed, political influences, and a story of a team of really passionate group of people who lives with a purpose...

Its a definite must watch, and even while I was tired.. on the way back from work, this movie got me on the edge of my MRT seat...and it was on my mind all the time!

Eagle Eye (2008)

Fast-paced, good and fun movie to watch

I will give this an 8 because it's a pretty simple plot, yet it's fast-paced and it kept me on the edge of my seat down to the last 5-6 minutes.

I like the way the story flow, from the introduction, the way that the plot is built, it's slow, but it's tense. I could sense the seriousness and the action that is waiting to be built upon.

I liked every moment of it, and the action is paced. The cast is good, all the people acting were very (into the show). the storyline is well scripted and i liked the idea of having the back-ground newscaster repeatedly dropping hints on the show about the plot.

I must say that it's not a fresh concept or idea of a show, however, it's a fun filled action (Clean) for families and friends of all ages.

Taken (I) (2008)

Great Show!

This show is fun, and the action is so real that I was so much taken aback. the pace is good and the humor is... cool! The movie depicted the love of a father where he will go all ways and means to rescue his beloved daughter (Child). I think the movie is trying to depict that love story between a father and daughter. it uses lots of 'cold' humor and action to cover that lovey-dovey stuff we see in dramas.

I like every bit of the action, and Liam Neeson, although old, has that charisma to pull this one off pretty well. The ways the baddies are dealt with are with no-nonsense bang on their head, no second chances and I liked that style of action because it leaves no room for the bad-guys who will overthrow the good at the later part of the story.

I watched it with my colleague and they said it's good. Its a show for all ages as well, clean, action packed and best of all, it's an all-time favorite. Repeatedly over and over again, friends and colleagues said that this show is worth the money for the big screen!

American Gangster (2007)

Classics!

I like this movie simply because of its depth and its richness in the content. The movie is lengthy, and contains quite a bit of nude scenes, which was totally unnecessary in my opinion... overall, this is a movie not to miss for those who loves the Godfather, the untouchables, Denzel and Russel.

My initial thought was this movie would be one drag, complicated and full of dialogs. While watching it, too much dialogs didn't bother me as the acting was so-so-so good! One show not to be missed.. just be careful though, 3-hrs will pass you by like the wind when watching a show such as this.

August Rush (2007)

Excellent Movie for music lovers!

This movie blew my expectations out! I wasn't expecting a lot in the first place, thinking maybe this is another of those simple inspirational yet touching movie... however, what I didn't realize is how rich the movie is in terms of the originality of the plot and its music companionship.

You will definitely enjoy this movie when watching with your loved ones or if you are an avid music lover. Music featured in the song ranges from Classicals to Rock, which is what made me fell so in love with.

The movie was also gripping! Hope for the better life that we're all expecting from August Rush just keeps us on the edge of our seat..!

This is a movie not to be missed, and because this blows my mind so much, I decided to give it FULL MARKS!

The Leap Years (2008)

A very relatable love story.. in the heart of town

I would say that The Leap Year exceeded my expectation as a local production. With very artistic camera shooting, beautiful scenes, in the heart of town, along with good casts and a simple story nicely written.

Though I must say that the show can be quite a drag, yet at the same time, there wasn't enough details to fill in the gaps, I personally find the entire movie pretty enjoyable and it was able to keep me looking forward to the scenes ahead.

The show has a nice blend of music, sung by Corrine May, lyrics and scenes matches and its very well picked and played. That is a PLUS to the show. For those who enjoys a simple love story, with artistic style in directing and a relate-able love story of a typical love-no love with light-hearted endings, this is a must watch show! This will be THE movie to watch for couples, especially on the 29th of February.
