Rock 'n' Roll Nightmare (1987)
Cheese to the fifth power!!!
Oh my goodness! I love this movie! It is so incredibly cheesy and fun! A friend and I blindly rented this back when we were in high school (lo those many years ago) during one of our horrorfests. We laughed so hard we cried. This is low-budget film-making at its best. The monster seriously looks like it is made of papier mache, tin foil, and light bulbs. Thor's costume, that horrible band, everything is so amazing. Fans of bad horror must see this flick.

Funny stuff!
This movie was really good. I enjoyed all the performances (particularly Matthew McConaughey and Jenna Elfmann) and the premise was cute. I don't usually like comedies, but this one kept me laughing most of the way through. I think some of its critics were looking for something DEEP or a POINT in this (perhaps something about the perils of our reality TV obsessed world), but I saw it as strictly entertainment for the sake of entertaining its audience.
Ocean's Eleven (2001)
Slick!
This movie was slick! It was all about being slick! It ended up being too slick for its own good (or mine). I wasn't the least bit entertained by this film and the acting wasn't on par with what I expected. A lot of the movie reminded me of "Snatch." That would have been a good thing, except that "Snatch" was excellent and this film just emphasized how much better that film was using the same formula.
Halloween: Resurrection (2002)
Crap!!!
As a fan of the "Halloween" series, I was very disappointed in this movie. The plot was ridiculous (Blair Witch meets Big Brother...oh please!), the acting was bad (Busta Rhymes chews scenery like no other), and I thought the cinematography was awful (it's hard to get into a movie when you can't see anything). It's sad to see that the Greatest Horror Film ever made is now content to release stupid sequels that imitate all the crappy copycats that came after it. Very disappointing.
Dazed and Confused (1993)
Guess you had to be there
I was four when this movie was supposed to have taken place. Perhaps if I had grown up during that time, I would have gotten it. As it was, I found this movie pretty boring. Not bad, just boring. I did think Matthew McConaughey's way-too-old-to-be-hanging-with-high-school-kids guy was hilarious. He's about the only thing in this movie I could identify my high school years with.
Halloween (1978)
Best Horror Film I've Ever Seen
This is the best horror movie I've ever seen. I first saw this when I was about 10 years old, and it scared the heck out of me. I've watched it numerous times since then and it still scares me. I will only watch it during the day for fear of nightmares. Michael Myers' menace was so real, especially when compared to the many attempted copycats and the continuously downward going sequels. The lack of an explanation for his rampage made it even more frightening. Well-acted by the cast of fairly unknowns and Donald Pleasance who will always have a special place in my heart for this role.
