The Phantom of the Opera (2004)
Loved this Movie
I have loved Phantom of the Opera since it first came out on Broadway . I have now seen the play 5 times, the last time in Sept. 2005. When I heard the movie was coming out, I was thrilled, of course I thought Michael Crawford would play the part. When I found out he was not, I thought, well, the music will still be there, lets wait and see. I had never heard of Gerard Butler, I have to admit, I was curious. When I did see the movie I was not disappointed. I thought he was wonderful as the Phantom. He brought a new dimension to the role, he was forceful, and he was also pitiful when he had to be. Another movie now added to my huge collection, the music is just breathtaking. I also thought Emmy did a wonderful job as Christine. I loved the whole thing!
Yanks (1979)
loved the movie
My children were just babies when I saw this movie at the theater in 1979. I really loved it and have all these years. I guess the romance and the finality of goodbyes, not knowing what could happen made it all the more intense. The racism scene was hard to watch, very hard. I am sure things like that went on though. It is a treasure in my huge movie collection. I hope someday to visit England and be able to see some of the towns that were in this movie.Richard Gere is a wonderful Actor and this was the very first time I had heard about him or had ever seen him in a movie. He brought a realism to this part, he was a perfect guy to play an American soldier! Talking about it has made me want to look at it tonight!!
Tell Me Where It Hurts (1974)
This movie showed me my future as a housewife and mother
I loved this film, it gives you hope, Connie does not know where she belongs anymore. Is she just a wife and mother, is there nothing else for her to look forward to now that she is middle aged and her children are grown.
Anyone who feels they are suffering the empty nest syndrome, and the "does my hubby still love me" syndrome, watch this movie and have some hope.
