Witte Wieven (2024)
The VVitch ripoff
I imagine the other reviews on here are by the crew.
Sorry but this feels so much like The VVitch but not as good. Girl gets her powers from the dark forces in the woods and ends up embracing them. Its exactly the same.
Some very odd choices here by the director. Its really low budget and it feels it. The story telling is also confusing at times. Its also really short for a feature and lacks any real arc. I watched it in a group and we were all bored 10 mins into it.
They probably did as much as they could but it doesn't really go anywhere and it all falls apart in the third act. I didn't buy the characters or the acting.
Chimera (2023)
Absolute twaddle
Its very obvious to me that the only other review on here is by Ash Thorp himself.
'A unique experience' is an understatement. All style no suhbtsance just like Ash's other work. 10 out of 10 from the other reviewer is utterly hilarious.
Pretentious is the word I would use to describe a lot of this type off work. Its not art. Its pretty pictures for sure but its not film making.
All the fanboys that follow Mr Thorps work will lap this rubbish up all day long.
Its vapid and empty.
Bad acting. Bad concept that disappears up its own backside just like,e Lost Boy.
Please Ash stop. Stick to UI design.
Maggie (2015)
Absolute garbage from a very average director
Where to begin.
The whole thing is drowning in body fluids and emo slush. As for producer-star Arnie, trudging grimly through this nonsense.
Henry Hobson shouldn't be let near a film set ever again. This is clumsy, cheesy and cliche. After 10 mins in I wanted the film to end.
The good reviews here are clearly the director posting his own made up reviews. I don't think there is any great storytelling in here, I think he's more concerned with making the shoot look pretty.
I think Henry should stick to graphic design personally. Some nice title sequences on his reel and thats about it.
I give this film 1 out of 10. 2 hours of my life I will never get back.
Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire (2023)
How Zack is continually allowed to make garbage like this is beyond me
I don't get it. I don't think he's made 1 truly great film. Dawn of the Dead was probably the only film in his filmography that was really enjoyable and a fresh take on the genre.
His commercial success speaks volumes as its mostly music videos and thats what his movies feel like. There is no tangible plot or substance. Its all visual.
This film suffers in so many areas from plot to script to performance. Its as bad as Army of the Dead and I thought that was one of the worst films I had seen in a decade.
Please stop giving him money and take that 200 million and give 40 million budgets to some more competent voices.
