Good Cop, Bad Cop (2023)
Still no such thing as good reviews.
Sadly many reviews are either made by the sort of intellects you wouldn't expect to squeak by with an average score in basic elementary school core english much less an online review. People who in their first title can prove they didn't watch the documentary or even a snippet of it as this countermands the very basic point of the documentary good hunting bad. Then naturally like most of the worst reviews after proving it has no place here and even less to say it dives off into the deep end of radical political and social views as well as absolutes. The only thing made clear by this review "no such thing" is that this poor fool greased his review up slipped past whatever review they have and submitted itself for obvious rejection. Sadly they have gone back to ground aka the basement where they live clearly the bulk of their life experience through a tiny screen being fed only a tiny deeply dramatized view of the world that they respond to with each preceding click.
Oddly they have chosen crazy online shut in leftist world.
Box: Metaphor (2023)
One hardly has to go beyond the title of the film to see just how awful it is going to be.
Imagine having to spell out for a dystopian sci fi thriller that the box is a metaphor. Did they anticipate the intellectual limits of their small potential audience very well or were they simply too dumb to even flirt with mediocre filmmaking.
I honestly didn't waste more than 3 minutes on this. The very opening intro was so awful both being writing in a slow very clear font while also being read aloud was strange except perhaps in a video game intro.
The very first premise is how this torture and governments in general are all bad at things and how at any other time this would be considered inhumane.
Illustrating a radical naivety to how very different periods of time and circumstances create very different societal perceptions of what is right and wrong what is necessary.
Worse after deciding i definitely couldn't watch this and still have hair left on my head i dared to proceed on past the 2 minute mark approaching the 3 minute mark. Where in the next opening scene much of the previous statements were reiterated nearly word for word by the little lady on the screen in the box now explaining the same tedious filler to the character.
Its like they were going for some sort of worst film of the year award on purpose.
Perhaps everyone involved learned all their filmmaking and writing skills from a tik tok video and have never seen anything that wasn't in the bargin bin at a closed down truck stop.
I suppose its possible it became intelligent purposeful and amazing after this point as if by magic or madness.
My magic 8 ball however indicated all signs point to NO.
I watched less of the film than the trailers run time.
I still regret that mistake so much i had to login to imdb to toss it a one star and a review both in hopes of saving others from even wasting a second on this.
It seemed like civic responsibility somehow.
Bad Education: Haunted House (2024)
Season 4 and 5 are like most modern reboots... awful
While the decision to revive a title that was so popular throughout the east in modern times seems at first hopeful and exciting the experience for fans of the original 3 seasons was far less than worthwhile.
The magic and careful formula of cast members and their more distinctive characters intermeshing into stereotypes was much more purposeful than the additional seasons.
There is no longer many aspects or careful dynamics at work. The new main teacher taking the place of jack whitehall just can't bind or carry the lesser students and actors at anywhere close to the same level.
I wasn't even aware they had done a season 5. No doubt the time and money invested versus the profit or generic filler was a go for the bbc decision makers. That or the more edgy conspiracy theories like its purposeful propaganda towards more liberal ideology even if its at a financial loss is a success to them.
It has a very lifeless soulless overall vibe compared to the early format. Not that they don't try to honor the original spirit of the show mind you but that it simply fails by quite a stretch.
Frankly im shocked they greenlit a 5th season. I find it interesting that it has been split release over winter break meaning it was at least so bad it had to go into the worst scheduling slots shows can get.
AHS has the same fate this season being split over a many months break which is horrible for the viewers. Then again thats simply the nature of the industry. Things always go downhill and must be put in their appropriate place.
