Nunmuleui yeowang (2024)
Failed
The bigger the expectation, the bigger the disappointment. I fell asleep during the second episode. I tried to pick it up and watched until episode 6, hoping the plot and characters would somehow become interesting, then gave up. Extremely boring and poorly written script. The aesthetics are great otherwise but the dialogues are awful. I dont know what all the hype is about? This drama was highly anticipated because come of the lead actor's popularity (KSM is currently the highest paid Korean actor). Such a waste of money and talent here that could have been better spent on a better scriptwriter.

Lee Joon-gi never disappoints
Such a good thriller that will keep you glued to the screen! Lee Joon-gi beauty and gentleness doesn't make it easy for him to play the villain, but he always manages to be believable when he plays a creepy character. Which is why, I suppose, he is one of the most awarded Korean actor. My only concern is that his appearance seems to gets younger as he ages. As the skilled and versatile actor that he is, he doesn't need to look as good as he was when he was 25. He is always mesmerizing on the screen. Korea should allow their famous actors to age gracefully with wrinkles. That includes the actresses who play the opposite part.
Wang-i doin nam-ja (2019)
Such a pleasure to watch
In summary, it is Masquerade extended version. It is hard to deceive when you have a good impersonation / body double story as good as this. But it is also easy to miss. The series did in fact better than the movie in exploring the characters' deeper thoughts and adding spices to the plot - something the movie couldn't do in a short time anyway. To reprise the role played by the famous Lee Byun Hun is a challenge in itself that only a skilled actor could take. They made the best choice by casting Yeo Jin who doesn't disappoint. Then again, Yeo Jin never disappoints unless the script is completely screwed. The child actor has gone a long way from the Korean 'little brother' days, and he has a very promising future.
Sejak (2024)
Very good but...
I thought it was a very good drama, thanks for the most part by the acting skills of the main character. Yes, they could have much done better in terms of altering the female lead's appearance to make the story credible. Aside from that, the kissing scenes are awful and there is no passion between the actors who are supposed to have fallen heads over heels for each other. The Queen dowager however played her insavory character with great skills (and humor) and recites her lines perfectly. I thought that in many scenes where they appear, she overwhelms and outshines all the other female characters in the plot.
The Goryeo-Khitan War (2023)
Great show!
Great show! Cant wait to see the finale although I already know how it will end. On the whole it is authentic, and close to historic events and what is known about the main protagonists. I think the supporting actors eclipse the main characters and take center stage as the show nears it end, perhaps due to the fact that the King of Goryeo was young and inexperienced in military drills and tactics, and relied upon others to guide him. The royals here are polished, refined and predictable, so less captivating than monarchs with complex, often paranoid and sometimes distasteful personalities. So the downside is that the young king and his entourage of consorts can come across as 'boring'. But the action scenes do the trick in keeping the audience glued to the screen.
