Mortal Kombat (2021)
Bad bad bad bad
Bad writing...
Bad acting...
Bad choreography...
Bad cg hidden behind scenes so dark that even raising the screen light won't solve...
The only kind of redeeming aspect was the nostalgia it procured and the music.
And since the yardstick of video game movies includes the infamous street fighter movie, it is probable than in a few years this bad movie will be regarded as "so bad it is fun".
The ABC Murders (2018)
If you are a purist, do not watch
If you do not know anything about Poirot and Agatha Christie this is enjoyable.
But if you are a purist you will be disappointed and maybe even angry.
Amadeus (1984)
in one word: grandiose
I first saw the movie when I was around 8 years old. An old tape on which we taped over later. But I still remember the emotion I had at that time.
Since then I have seen the movie again and I must say that I am every time delighted since the emotion is intact. The play it is based on invents this rivalry between these two passionate music lovers and brings a canvas of love, hate, respect, betrayal and magic.
Milos Forman brings here a vision of the play in its most superb aspects such as the scenes extracted from several operas. Everyone will, after seeing this movie, remember the two main actors (F. Murray Abraham and Tom Hulce) but on my part the acting of the others have much to do with the quality of the movie such as the priest (Richard Frank), the father (Roy Dotrice), the emperor Joseph (Jeffrey Jones) and last but not least: Constanze (Elizabeth Berridge).
Great movie, I never get tired of watching it My grade: 10/10
Hollywood Ending (2002)
Enjoyable
One of the most visual comic movies of Woody Allen: very enjoyable. A good criticism (very cliche) of the movie business in the US but adding the comment that Europeans might also be wrong about it. Woody Allen directs himself playing a director that goes blind... Very funny situations come out of this as you might think. Always very thick in its description of the American movie industry but all for a good cause, make us forget our real life for close to 2 hours. Mainly just a good peace of film for Sunday nights...
