Meet Joe Black (1998)
Live a life such that even death will fall in love with it!
What a masterpiece! Great acting, innovative original story, good looking cast and a first class direction. The story is kept simple but its so novel that keeps your intrigued till the end. Death is the ultimate truth and we all know it, uncertain about it and most of all many fear it. But the message that the movie is trying to give is that live a life with dignity, righteousness, balance of joy and work, experience & express love and put your family first. Once you have lived such a fulfilling life, even death will fall in love with it.
If you are a person who has a philosophical inclination, who think about the meaning of life and wonder how to embrace the ultimate end, then this movie is for you!
The music of the film throughout was perfect. Actors brought life to the whole cinema and script. Most of all the ending was perfect too, no unnecessary dramatization, no heroic ends, just an artistic philosophical beautiful ending. A must watch for all who love movies with some creative story and depth!
Tomorrowland (2015)
A movie for believers and dreamers!
Yes, the script is a bit complex, a bit modern and yet a bit retro, it doesn't talk about how and all this keeps the viewers wondering to an extent! But that is the purpose of it. Its not about HOW, its about WHAT you believe in! Its about restoring hope, to believe that a change is possible however impossible it may appear. It is a film truly for believers and dreamers!
Apart from visual effects and great acting, the movie tries to give message and create awareness of how the matters that affect our environment and earth needs our attention. There is no time to wait for the right time, it is the time to act now to save a future. Our ancestors have given us this legacy which we enjoy, its our duty to give a better legacy and world to our next generations. Let us carry forward the legacy, fix the mistakes, give hope and a better Tomorrowland! :)
Loki (2021)
A Master Piece!
Couldn't get any better at it, may it be the story, acting and direction. The climax was so fulfilling and made all sense of all the complexities. Yes there are few episodes where it felt a little mundane and no clear sense of what all is happening, but if you hold on till the end all will fall in place. I am glad, i did hold on till the end!
Tom and rest of the team did an excellent work. Kudos to the story writer and director for making this masterpiece. Only such classics dare to challenge to think differently, tend viewers to think differently and eventually give some food for thought about what is the time, reality, science, fiction and ultimately the purpose of all of it!
Indian Police Force (2024)
Extremely disappointing! Dont ruine OTT platform quality.
Total lack of logic, safety and seriousness of the plot. The very first start is with all aiming gun at a child, another child is left with bomb in hand and all others are just staring at him. Yet another scene where bomb squad comes to defuse the bomb, but our Hero is still standing with 2 of them just to hold the bomb without any protection gear. Obviously the 2 bombsquad members could have managed, but the director wants to show how courageous our Hero is and don't need any safety.
In another scene, the bomb is in car and our other Hero without knowing the scale of bomb impact or if its nuclear, simply drives another car and rams into the car with bomb from behind, takes a reverse and watch the car explode.
And after all this happening and Hero giving lecture to fellow policement that no one will go home and we will investigate. Immediately after that while catching an informer/suspect the scene focuses on wife calling and love and love you too...
Grow up film makers and directors, Indian viewers no more take all this nonsense story line and mindless direction any more!
On top of this, the positive reviews are fabricated where most of them have similar text of 'pulse-pounding intensity of Indian Police Force'. Great job!
Satyaprem Ki Katha (2023)
A romantic comedy, a social message and world class acting!
So happy to see Bollywood attempting to break the norms and mindless action trend with such amazing mix of romantic comedy and trying to highlight some pressing issues with our society.
Actors, directors and writers have done an excellent job!
Especially Karthik and Kira have done a wonderful acting to make an impact.
Initially i thought the script is similar to Hum dil de chuke sanam and its a possible remake. But I was so wrong, they hit the script with an unexpected turn and an important one which is faced by our society.
Wont have any spoilers here, so go watch the movie and you wont be disappointed!
Be like Satuu :)
Alien: Covenant (2017)
5 years later on a re-watch and the current AI boom, I could realize it had more to offer!
I loved Prometheus and the plot of engineers create humans and for some reason they wanted to destroy their creation. It was very well put story in a movie, great acting and amazing direction. The ending kept wanting for more to know why did engineers wanted to destroy humans.
Finally when the movie covenant got released after 5 years of long wait. I thought the question is going to be finally be answered. But alas! We know what David has done and that lead to extreme disappointment! The story of engineers what was expected in this sequel. The whole excitement was lost and hated the story line for that reason.
But now that I thought to give it another try, after 6 years and in an era of ChatGPT and AI booming. The storyline did felt like its making sense. Although not what was expected as a sequel to Prometheus. But as an independent storyline and a bridge to original Alien story it did made sense. The acting was up to the mark, direction was good. So a solid thriller, horror, action movie!
I just wished this would have been the 3 part to Prometheus and the 2 part i.e. Alien Covenant should have focused more on engineers story and why and how they created humans and why they wanted to destroy them. That would have been mind boggling, original and very creative!
I hope someday if Mr. Ridley Scott get to see this and other reviews, and decide make a true sequel to the master piece.
