The Amityville Horror (2005)

Nothing but a palely entertaining show

Seeing this film was most definitively a bad choice amongst all other films in theaters at the moment. If you're in for some good special effects and screams from teenagers in the seat behind, well then maybe this is your film. I was in for a good horror movie, which knowing from the hype it would be not, but nonetheless "watchable" in terms of plot and acting. For the most part the movie focused on the 'husband' which is in fact a comedy actor that really doesn't fit the part, and as expected the wife is indeed hot as we are used to nowadays. You would wish the clichés had stopped there, but no, they keep on coming for the rest of film up to the end of it which in my opinion was dumb and very very weak.

I should mention that in this movie there are things like a dead little girl, dead people in the basement, ghosts appearing in the mirror, and the list goes on... In a nutshell this movie was kind of entertaining in a manner that it is actually well made in terms of special effects and is fast-paced, but the story is totally irrelevant and the acting is very very poor. I would recommend you skip this one and go watch something different for a change.

The Girl Next Door (2004)

Not the usual flick for chicks...

The movie sure looks like all movies we're used to see. Fortunately it didn't live up to my expectations. I was waiting for usual romantic-comedy crap and what i got was something way funnier and a lot more deeper than typical teenage films.

I recommend it as a light movie that should be seen by people on their first semester at college. Obviously the movie does not stand up among the others( it has a nice ending, a lot of hot women, some of the same old jokes... ), but it is quite better.

When the movie finished i ended up very excited about life, and how it can turn it all around. It is all up to you.

8½ (1963)

Visually stunning

This is movie is not for everyone, and people who watch all kinds of films and understand more of cinematography and direction than usual should enjoy this film. I have never really liked Fellini's works, mainly because i don't like the way the "plot" flows, and the way the story is told ,but this movie makes it up being one of the most beautiful B&W films I have ever seen. Not only the movie is appealing to the eye but it also deals with important issues of the human soul and has memorable quotes which I'll probably remember for a while.

Needless to say it is a must see for all Black And White fans and people already into Fellini's style, but I would also recommend this movie to people who do not like Fellini if anything for the mesmerizing visual of the film.

This movie's got a strong 7/10 from me, which means I recommend it indeed.

Wild Strawberries (1957)

Great direction, memorable images and flawless acting. A wonderful film

One of the best black and white movies ever made is Wild Strawberries. Ingmar Bergman gives a masterful direction and his b&w work is so superior to other directors that all scenes are impressive. A cruel, touching story about an old man who has to confront loneliness and aging. A must see for any Bergman fan and for all the people who are looking for great films. One thing i noticed in Bergman's films is that he has kinda an obsession for wild strawberries, watch "The Seventh Seal" and you'll agree with me.

I am tired of trying to find a good movie with jennifer lopez, i guess i have seen most of her famous movies but they simply doesn't work, she is not good as an actress... Stick to the music please

With this movie i am giving up on her movies for good. I dont know what else to expect from her , but at least she is not gonna make money from me again.

The Jungle Book 2 (2003)

Lives it up to my expectations as a Disney sequel

The Jungle Book 2 is a typical Disney sequel, the graphics are not so well done as in the first one and the plot is full of cliches and totally predictable.

This movie is obviously directed for kids , but the fans might like it too. I myself was never a big fan of Mowgli, nor Disney Sequels, and it was ok for me.

First thing to say: Do not waste your money and time with this movie. I have warned you, i feel better now. I don't know how can people still waste money to do such crap, at first i thought it would be a thriller, a bad one, but with some good scenes. Oh boy, I was totally wrong, it is a comedy ( figure why ) : The acting is totally laughable, seems that everyone is doing a stupid role on purpose. The plot is hummm... err , plot , plot... is there a plot? I could list a lot of problems in this movie, but i got to one conclusion, it is a comedy. I am positive about that, the only thing( no big deal ) that was missing were the LAUGHS.

My rate 0 (ZERO).

( BTW: There is one laugh , when she goes on a training course, it looks so much like, i dont know, van damme movies, even remembers me of Joe Somebody )

The Powerpuff Girls Movie (2002)

Well Balanced cartoon

I must confess i was never a fan of powerpuff girls, i may have seen some episodes but not more than that. I've just had a surprise, i am 16 years old and i really enjoyed the movie, so did my sister ( 10 years old ).

The way it was designed , the good story, the funny jokes makes this movie a rousing success on every level. People say the action scenes are a bit overlong, i agree with that, but as well as it may look a bit like that it is never boring, so i will do justice to this nice little film :) ---> 8/10

Whether you like cartoons or not i am positive it is worth a watch

Out Cold (2001)

Although it may seem like the same old crap, snowboard, hot chicks and funny jokes actually WORK!

Ok, I know everyone think this movie is idiot, predictable and has its stupid jokes. I could be with you, I dont like this kind of movies, specially when it gets as bad as "The Sweetest Thing" , "The New Guy" and others from the genre...

But I am here to say that this is one funny movie! The Snow boards sequences are super! We don't care for the acting in movies like this, since we laugh and feel good, it's all right. I am asking you to not be led by the critics, because people sometimes forget to watch a movie as it is supposed to be, do yourself a favor and don't do that.

I recommend you to watch this movie and have a laugh with your friends. But i must say it is not great, there are no mesmerizing jokes, but still got its charm...

My rate would be 6 out of 10, but that blondy , oh man, she deserves a nice star so my rating is : 7 / 10

What Women Want (2000)

I would give it a seven, but the ending spoiled the movie...

This movie is a comedy that has even nice performances and i must confess that the idea is very good too. But I won't recommend you this movie, why not? It is just a "normal" movie, there's nothing about it, I am sure you will smile times in times, but in the end you will have yourself in a cliche that just doesn't work.

I don't think the end had anything to do with the movie, and it was unnecessary to be so romantic, we all rent movies like this for a laugh and not for some boring drama completely expectable...

That said the movie in itself has its comic moments but i am sure you can find better movies than this one. I gave it a 6, but it could be worth a 7 if the end wasn't so bad.

By The Way, if you're looking for a nice comedy try Monty Python And The Holy Grail.

Spider-Man (2002)

Fine Movie... Couldn't be great...

This movie is o.k. I recommend it to anyone who wants to spend some with a movie that finishes happy and wants get out smiling. Sometimes we all get tired of the same old sh*t, but this one does good and times in times you will have yourself inside the movie, that means this movie is really entertaining. The effects were a bit of a let down, if you pay attention you will see that sometimes he "throws" his web in the air ( I really don't know how can that glue in the air :p), although it has some flaws there is never a HUGE mistake. Go to see this one with an open mind and try not to pay attention to the effects, it is not good to see flaws in a movie, it spoils everything. All in all good movie.

My Rating 7/10 ( by the way the USA flag in the end of the movie sucked )

The Fast and the Furious (2001)

Crap...

Here we have a movie for teenagers getting 18 years old and dying to have a car. This is the specific public for this movie. Fast And Furious fails in everything.

Acting: None of the actors have a nice performance, and they tried to put some conflicts with people, it is something like : "I don't like you" all of sudden.It just doesn't work.

The Cars: Although the car sequences may seem a bit "cool" it has several flaws, and you don't need to pay so MUCH attention to see it. Again they think we are dumb enough to don't realize it.

THE MOVIE: I don't even know if i can call it a movie, when i finished watching it, all i could remember were cars, and hot women, and cars and women and some cars with women. Is this really a movie?

Conclusion: DO NOT WATCH IT! Unless you want see some women with some cars put in a movie with no sense.

I am sure you will find worse movies to rent than this one, but not much.

A Goofy Movie (1995)

You can watch it over and over and over....

This is one of the finest Disney Movies ever made, i have seen it and i must say that it is really cool. Although it may seem a bit dumb, it is very good for children and for grownups, not only the story and animation but the jokes are quite clever. I have seen this movie a thousand times and never get annoyed, i recommend it to everyone who wants to see Goofy at his best. This one deserves 5 stars ;)

A Beautiful Mind (2001)

Better than Good Will Hunting

Although it may seem just a boring drama, it is quite good for a biography and it is also entertaining. When i went to watch this movie i didnt know it would be so focused on his mind,I didn't know he was crazy , and only at the end i was sure he was, his visions were so powerful that i believed he wasnt crazy, it is all because Russel Crowe's acting, it is super, I dont think Denzel Washington deserved the Oscar... Well anyways, go see this movie if you want some powerful stuff, not some crying tear jerker... And I must say that this one is far much better than Good Will Hunting :)

This movie is completely bad rated by people, i can't believe that people can give a rate less than 8 to a movie like this.

This movie raises some moral questions and not only that, it is funny and clever... I can't imagine a better ending for this movie, i think everyone should see it.

I couldn't help but give it a 10/10

Minority Report (2002)

Worth a 10, but there is one little flaw

First i must recommend this movie to everyone, specially if you are a Sci-Fi Fan, a movie really worth a watch with super action scenes and moral questions.

After watching this movie i couldn't help but feel good for the "happy" ending and the doubts it lets, i was going to rate it 10/10 ( it deserves ) but there is one flaw in this movie( DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT ) :

After John Anderton is arrested , his wife discovers that he is "innocent" and goes there to free him, the thing is that she gets in all the system using John's eye, now you tell me, how can some HUGE protected system with something so important to take care, do not deactivate John's access in any way (considering that he is accused by murder )???

Despite that, a great movie: 9/10

A Clockwork Orange (1971)

Sometimes i ask myself, what makes a movie after all? Well, i have just got the answer watching this movie. When the movie ends, you can't help but feel the magic, the music, every single frame of the movie in your head and above all that, the strong story line which is funny and at the same time violent, but i am pretty sure you will like the "violence", because it is not about rape and murder, it is a hard critic to society and that's why it is so perfect. Stanley Kubrick was a genius, and in this movie you can see it so well, that will take a long time for you to forget how much you enjoyed it. That's why i think it is "The Movie" cause it has music, acting, art, beauty, life, realism, sci-fi, violence and humor. Clockwork Orange gets a 10/10 Because it is perfect...

Thir13en Ghosts (2001)

Even with 13 ghosts they couldn't scare you...

This movie sucked and how it sucked, it is boring, the acting is even worse, not to say the story line that is so weak that will make you laugh instead of scare you.The effects are quite good actually, but as we all know that doesn't make a movie ( at least for acquired tastes ). Don't bother to watch this one, it is just a "movie" and not a film...

Joy Ride (2001)

There isn't much to say about this movie, you dont need to think, you dont need to cry, you dont need to turn off the lights, all you have to do is just sit down relax and pay attention and this movie deserves attention. That is all that Joy Ride requires from you to have FUN! Yes, you will have fun with this one, it is comic, at the same time serious, it will make you feel the fear , the performances are great, the idea is great too... If you didnt watch it yet, go for it! If you want to have fun with some friends on a weekend , rent it, 100 % of chances that you will like it

This movie is amazing, the kind of movie that keeps you guessing right to the end, it is so well encoded so well acted , and most of all , it is original it is all in backwards, i thought the thrillers had ran out of ideas, but then came this movie :) So, go watch this movie! nine STRONG stars out of ten, that means it is almost a ten
