Jeon Woochi (2009)
Funny and Witty
Funny, witty, and pleasant to watch. The martial arts choreography done by Gang Dong Won in this film is awesome and watchable. He sure got the moves and his acting is remarkable. He sure justified his role as Jeon Woochi. If you're a big fan of Gang Dong Won like me, you'll gonna enjoy watching this and you gonna love him more. I've seen him in some comedy films and he sure can pull it of while I like him more doing some serious roles.
The visual effects are also amazing. South Korea can compete with Hollywood films. The actors are all on the A-list. A film you can watch with the whole family. So yeah, its highly recommended!

Descent Film
Another descent film starring the ever talented Gang Dong Won. The storyline and cinematography may be too simple and the plot is not unique, the way actor Gang Dong Won delivers his acting prowess on this film is way impressive. This film is released just a few months earlier than his Illang: The Wolf Brigade movie, you get to see his big character transition from an innocent deliveryman to a "Special Unit" soldier. That's Gang Dong Won. He can perform any role and can pull it anytime. While this film is not your average action film with less combat executions compared to his Kundo performance, this film never missed to entertain its viewers. As a Gang Dong Won hard fan, this movie is recommended if you want to rest from a super-action film.

Best Period Actio Movie
Best period action movie I've seen so far. With star-studded cast, badass martial arts choreography, a pinch of comedic lines, and boy Gang Dong Won as the hottest villain of the Joseon Dynasty.
I've seen a lot of good historical action films created by South Korea, but this one is on my top list. Though too late to have noticed this, I came across this film because I read Gang Dong Won's name included in the cast list. Surprised that he played the anti-hero role, but not surprise how good he is as the main antagonist. This is the first time I'm seeing a movie where I am fixated at the villain instead of the protagonist. LOL. And I am not regretting it. How could he looks so fine while delivering his inhumane lines and killing-spree moves? Not to mention (all) his fight scenes? Honestly, I was rooting for him instead of the heroes. That's how good the Gang Dong Won is. I've watch this film for 3x and still not getting over it.

Not Related to Train to Busan
A lot of bad reviews written but forgot that this is not related to the first film Train to Busan. The production team even said it themselves that this is a standalone movie. While is TTB is more emotional and showcases how humans would react when chased by zombies- basically emphatizes human emotions, let us not forget that Peninsula is a post-apocalyptic event, meaning it is occuring after a catastrophically destructive disaster. While this film focuses on the aftermath of the zombie outbreak, it shows the audience that humans in order to survive, needs to fight not only the monsters but fellow humans who are also trying to struggle for survival. Imagine you found yourself in a post-apocaliptic wasteland, how do you keep yourself alive? This film is not just about zombies versus humans, rather zombies versus humans versus other humans. That is what this film is all about.
Cinematography wise, though this film had a high budget on the production, I think it is still lacking. The action scenes were well executed. Of course we have Gang Dong Won in this film. Who could play it any better? Plus there is Lee Jung-hyun as Min-jung, a badass momma who would do anything it takes to protect her girls. And the girls I'm talking about? I've never seen a teenager girl drives like that like a madwoman. While watching the car-chasin scenes, I only think about Mad Max a little touch of Fast & the Furious. These two girls, I must admit, aside from GDW, nailed it!
Most viewers who have seen TTB may be frustrated in Peninsula because they are looking for more of that typical zombie-chasing-biting-human scenes, Peninsula is actually different, and yes it is not your ideal zombie movie. This time, the producers wanted us to see that after years and decades of those zombies eating humans. Humans now are able to fight those undead creatures. But who really are our enemies?

One of Kim Nam-gil's Performance
One of his best performance! Kim Nam-gil never disappoints his fans and even non-fans. This guy is really something. He truly deserve that Daesang award. He was outstanding in this drama. And the drama, as a fan of crime, psychological thriller dramas, this is a masterpiece. Perfect casting. Great cinematography. Great work from the writers and director. I watched this drama straight and completed it in a day. Mind-blowing. It deserves a standing ovation! My second favorite psycohological thriller drama after Beyond Evil. If you are fond of those kinds of scenes, this is definitely a must-watch.
