The Space Between (2016)
A gem
I came across this movie by total chance, and feel very fortunate to give it a try. The argument does not follow that standardized and overly saturated Holywood lines, feeling a bit more familiar and authentic, despite the rush with which the action develops. It leaves the spectator with a warm feeling good feeling and that is the should be the main goal of art, to make you feel, to make you think.
There are some moments in the narrative that could be better explored, are not fully explained and where the soundtrack could be other, or that the camera approach could be different, but the actors do a great job and overall the result is very pleasant.
And Friuli Venezia Giulia is just gorgeous!
El desorden que dejas (2020)
Nice series with lots of potential
Although I didn't read the novel this series is based upon, you have the perception that the storyline has the potential to be really good. The main actors are great and the locations give it a sense of realness. However there are a lot of key moments, mainly in the last episodes, where you get the feeling the directors weren't able to tell the story at the best pace (a bit rushed) or create the deserved suspense and proper connection of the plot threads. Congratulations for the original series.
Rebecka Martinsson (2017)
Surprised it isn't more know
Rebecka Martinsson really needs to be available on more mainstream streaming platforms. This series is well written, with engaging stories and character development, enhanced by beautiful photography and a nicely fitting soundtrack. Previously unknown to me, Ida Engvoll representation of this strong, smart and independent character is just wonderful and is without doubt one of the main foundations for the fantastic final result.
