The Pregnancy Promise (2023)
1 star. Sorry not sorry.
It has been said that Lifetime movies are where careers go to die, so what does that say about those who are just starting out? In this case, it's nothing good.
Most of the cast were good enough actors but the actor playing Lucy made what could have been a decent movie hard to complete. You cannot get by on big breasts alone. Perhaps with a few years of acting lessons she could become a halfway decent actor, but as for now, she's just not believable.
I like mysteries, which some call this a mystery movie, I don't. I may have enjoyed it more if I were younger. I think it's suited for a less mature audience.
I Am Not a Lost Cause (2023)
Let's talk about the elephant in the room.
I stumbled across Christopher Siaens' work and something stuck out to me. I thought that maybe I was jumping to conclusions so I went through all of his videos. Now I can say that I find his work disturbing.
Not the videos themselves, but the fact that he only uses women in his videos. I was only able to find one with a male in it. The actresses do very well acting, but there are men who could do a well.
I don't know, maybe he thinks that men will not so these roles. I know many actors who would love to do more roles like this.
Maybe he thinks that these issues do not effect men. I hope that this is not the case as these issues are not gender specific.
Piercing Wounds (2023)
I'm sorry, but I don't understand how this is getting 10 stars
Speaking about the 10 star rating, I understand that we judge low budget indie films differently than we do Hollywood movies, but whoever gave this 10 stars must be either the director, one of the cast, or the director's parents.
The only review I read that was honest gave this movie a 1 star rating. They were the only ones who mentioned the horrible wig and weak fighting. And yes, I agree with them when they said that you should not write, direct, and star in your own movie. It's very self centered when you do. You're putting your ego before the movie.
Put you ego aside and let someone else take the lead. It helps the movie because it lets you focus more on directing and it shows that you care more about the movie than your own fragile ego.
