Perfect blend of mass and class 😍😍

Man this film is beyond review. This film is a perfect example of brilliant filmmaking - storytelling, action, comedy, songs, elevations, characterization, everything's top notch.

Not to mention, occasional goosebump moments. Actually I regret not watching this masterpiece in theaters. So let's review the film now

Positives - 1. Storytelling, 2. Character writing, 3. Goosebumps, 4. Songs & BGM, 5. Cinematography & Cammerawork, 6. Climax😍, 7. Emotional scenes

Negatives - 1. Average CGI work(coz of budget), 2. Some of the comedy scenes were irritating

Anniyan (2005)

What's wrong with Indian directors?

First of all, I'm Indian myself and seriously!!What's wrong with Indian directors? Well the question is rhetorical and the only plausible answer is another question - "What's wrong with Indian audience? "

Now coming back to S Shankar. He's such a great director and the concept of his movies are amazing, but he fails terribly in execution. Many people call him "Indian Nolan" And somewhere I agree to it. Similar to Nolan, his movies are diverse and have awesome concepts but what he lacks is writing and proper execution

A movie based o split personality, should be dark, psychological with solid writing. But nahh, Shankar be like - "let's use this creativity of mine in adding irritating comedies, unnecessary songs and dance and weird fight scenes"

This film has very poor writing - how can split personality give someone enhanced strength, durability, reflexes? How can someone remove mask using photoshop? How can one defy gravity with split personality?

Ignore these, and rest of the film is awesome. Chiyaan Vikrams acting is top notch, the dark scenes are so thrilling and the character of Aparichit was so well fleshed out.

Overall - Switch off your brains during romance and action scenes and switch it on during investigation scenes and scenes involving mythological references and symbolism.

Challenge (2004)

College Or Brothel?

Seriously!!! Sports drama? College drama? Or R.... Khana?

College - An institution where you can study after you leave school(Source - Google)

That's the definition of college according to popular belief and google. But what's shown here in the name of college is -

Treating women like objects, brothel like environment, gang war and politics, police laathi charge, police shootings, murders and unnecessary intimate scenes

Not a single time in the entire film, something related to education is mentioned, just all those which I mentioned above. And some "little" Sports drama to justify the subject

Ok, so now time for some Positives - motivational, good acting by lead, terrifying villain, choosing a sport like rugby over cricket or football.

Thief of Yama (2007)

Is It Even A Film?

Nahh it's definitely not a film. It's a 3 hr long spoof/sketch video which was supposed to be posted over YouTube Kids, which even kids wouldn't have enjoyed.

Junior NTRs above average acting is the only positive element in this movie. Talk of anything else - direction, concept, story, characterization, dialogues, supporting cast, action scenes - they're all below average to be best.

Still I don't know why I gave this film 4/10. It doesn't deserve more than 2/10. But ok, Rajamoulis film - hence added 2 more as bonus lol😂

Anything else left? 50 more characters required, so let me add another line - "Worst Rajamouli movie ever"

Jawan (2023)

What a treat for SRK fans

Atlee is no doubt an amateur filmmaker having rookie direction & storytelling skills. But this time he rocked the boat. Talking about the movie, here are some key points :

Positives - Action scenes, wow moments, emotional scenes, background music, acting of SRK, overall pace, social message

Negatives - Songs, storyline, romance

As a whole, the film is great. It definitely has some flaws but they can be overlooked. Sure it drew inspiration from popular movies and shows, but let me remind you "A rainbow is formed of seven colours".

Heard that they're planning for a sequel? Goddamn excited for it!!,

Maanagaram (2017)

Masterpiece

Awesome film. A very well thought out film with brilliant execution. Positives - Tight screenplay, brilliant character dynamics, unpredictable twist & turns and a social message(If u think it this way). This film feels little lengthy at some places but overall it's great. A solid 9/10 from me.

But, I'm giving +1 as bonus coz it's debut film of Lokesh and pulling out such level of direction in debut film is difficult. Neither did Lokesh have stars, nor budget in those days. But what he had(and has till now) is talent. Hence, a big salute to him. Pls Lokesh sir, make such similar masterpiece movies today.

Dunkirk (2017)

Disappointed!!!

After watching masterpieces of Nolan like Interstellar, Inception, TDK Trilogy, I planned to watch Dunkirk after hearing all the critical praises. But after watching the film, I feel it's pretty overrated. Not Because it's a bad film(it definitely isn't) but because of all hyped reviews. I mean come on guys, this is definitely not the best film of Nolan as per as the critics

A bunch of characters presented in front of the audience with no bonding & chemistry. Many emotional moments but hardly do they hit you. I get that it's a fast paced story driven film, but come on, that doesn't mean you can put 10-12 characters with each getting hardly 5 mins of screen time.

But yeah I gave the film 6/10 rating because of it's technical aspects like cinematography, music score, world buildip, etc. But to those calling it a masterpiece, either you haven't watched movies like Interstellar or you have some propaganda mindset.

Interstellar (2014)

Masterpiece

One of the best films I've watched in my entire life. Everything is top notch. Concept of Nolan movies was quite new for me since I've watched only TDK trilogy before this which was another masterpiece. So I had high expectations and believe me, I wasn't disappointed. Let's analyze it now -

Positives - 1. BGM, 2. Oscar level acting performance especially by Oscar winning actor, 3. Masterclass visuals & cinematography, 4. Concept , 5. Direction, 6. Hard hitting emotions , 7. World & Story building

Negatives - There ain't any, but if believe firmly in "Nothing is perfect", then okay, here take it, Negative - Rushed & confusing ending

Hence I'll deduct 0.5. But since IMDb doesn't have the option to give ratings in decimals, I'll rate it 10/10. But honest opinion - 9.5/10.

Brahmastra Part One: Shiva (2022)

A Nice Attempt At Making Something Extraordinary

First of all hats off to Ayan Mukherjee for trying something extraordinary in an industry filled with cliche Rom-com movies.

The concept of the film was pretty good, only the execution felt poor

Now let's analyze the movie :- Positives - 1. World Class Vfx, 2. We'll executed action scenes, 3. Great world building, 4. Great direction, 5. Some genuine goosebump moments

Negatives - 1. Too much emphasize on love story than real plot, 2. Chunks of characters introduced without any explanation or character development, 3. Pretty childish climax, 4. Cringe worthy dialogues, 5. Average acting performance by cast

Overall a good try, pretty decent entertaining film, one time watchable Could have been better 😁 Hope Ayan Mukherjee improves it in next part. I should have given it 6/10 but let's add 1 more as bonus for their hardworking Hence 7/10 👍

Simmba (2018)

Why are people hating this film?

Yeah I still can't get why people are hating this. Obviously this isn't a great film but not as bad as people are trying to make it look like. Like 90 % of the top ratings are 1/10, 2/10, etc. Wtf?

Why? Because this film is a remake of a South Indian film? Is that the reason why people are hating it?

Like seriously!! This deserves 6/10 atleast.

Ofc Ranveer Singh was overacting in this movie but is that a reason to give the film 1/10 rating? Guess people have become too much actor-centric than story-oriented. That's the reason Pushpa got so much love despite being trash.

Yeah now obviously this story is pretty old and backdated. Even I agree. But atleast it was entertaining.

Positives - 1. Emotions, 2. Action scenes, 3. Comedy

Negatives - 1. Cliche plot, 2. Overacting So that's my rating 6/10 👍

Magadheera (2009)

Could Have Been Better

SS Rajamouli gives some special touch to his films, that makes them special, it's like his signature move His amazing past & present storytelling, twist before interval and full physics ki g## marna climax.

Almost everything is great in this movie, but what makes it far from being perfect is basically two things 1. Unnecessary songs and cringy moments , 2. Pretty old concept reminded that I'm reviewing it in 2023 . Maybe the reincarnation concept was pretty fresh in 2009 but not today. So it's not a evergreen film.

Other than that acting, screenplay, direction, action scenes, etc made this film special. So, a decent entertaining film.

3 Idiots (2009)

If the word masterpiece had a face

If anybody ask "What do you mean by the word masterpiece? " Show him/her 3 Idiots.

A perfect blend of comedy and emotions Emotional scenes make you cry, comedy punch lines make you laugh, songs bring goosebumps, dialogues make you realize. These are like different positives scattered around, but what brought them together was acting performance of every single character and strong screenplay.

My review is complete, but guess this requires some more characters, so let's provide it

Credits - Thanks to Rajkumaar Hirani for a strong story & screenplay, thanks to Shantanu Moitra for brilliant bgm and songs, thanks to Amir Khan and Boman Irani specially for their acting performances.

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017)

Sequel Better Than Original

Yes!!!

Bahubali 2 is better than Bahubali 1 and it's a fact.

Many people won't agree but if we side by side compare, it's better

I had 3 cmplains with Bahubali The Beginning This film solved one of them which is - Unnecessary vulgar scenes Ex - The one with Avantika Surprisingly, this film didn't have a single vulgar scene, no item song, just heart touching romance & emotions Hence, it's a plus point for me

Direction, Cinematography , Songs, BGM, Action scenes, screenplay, villain were great as before, no time wasting, commenting about them Prabhas acting skills were better in this film as well.

Not only this, Bhallaldev was a better villain compared to Kalakkeya in my opinion So, it's a 9/10 film in my opinion "Masterpiece Pan Indian Film" is my review.

Baahubali: The Beginning (2015)

This Is What The Word Pan-India Means

This is a masterpiece film by SS Rajamouli. This film taught us the meaning of word "Pan-Indian Cinema". I watched this film in 2020,5 years after this film was released and I enjoyed every scene (except some).

BGM - Masterpiece, Direction - Great, Action Scenes - Awesome, Vfx - Pretty good according to Indian standards, Symbolism - This is what makes Bahubali different from other period dramas, Acting - Decent, Songs - You're bound to have tears, Cinematography - Hollywood level,

This film deserved it's 650 crores collection

Negatives lie in three things - 1. Lack of originality in some scenes 2. Predictable & cliche storyline 3. Unnecessary vulgar scenes - Manohari song felt unnecessary, stripping scene with Avantika was totally absurd

In one word - Visual Treat Rating - 8/10.

Pathaan (2023)

A Good Spy Movie For Mass!!

One of the best action movies of this decade.

The action scenes were brilliant, specially the one shot sequences.

Story was at times predictable but chill, one cannot write an entirely unpredictable story in a mass film Direction felt a little off, it was like an inferior version of "War".

Now about characters & acting performances Deepikas character held significance, not a mere showpiece John Abraham's Jim was the MVP of this movie Now about Pathan, I felt like SRKs potential was wasted. The character Pathan needed more depth.

Vfx was a pretty off point for the film.

Songs were okay Music was top notch especially the sequen where a special character enters the screen.

Overall a decent movie with some drawbacks Rating - 8/10.

K.G.F: Chapter 2 (2022)

A Great Movie

Basically a masala movie with good storyline Yes that's what summarizes this film.

This film has a good story, swaggy hero, some cliche dialogues, over the top action scenes, strong emotions and above all a chilling BGM.

This film is loved a lot by Mass audience. But that's not the end. Even class audience will like it if they manage to bear the over the top scenes.

Positives - 1. Intelligent Story 2. Lovable Protagonist 3. Dark Unique Cinematography 4. Unforgettable BGM 5. Great Villain 6. Goosebumps ending

Negatives - 1. RIP Logic 2. Rushed Plot Twists 3. Some cliche & cringy dialogues

Overall a decent movie, fun to watch.

RRR (2022)

A Visual Masterpiece

Yes this film is a masterpiece. Let's analyze :- Story :- Weakest point of the film, cliche story CGI :- One of the best in Indian Cinema Acting :- Except Alia Bhatt, everyone did fabulous job Direction :- I'm nobody to judge the direction of great SS Rajamouli, yet MIND BLOWING Climax :- A literal explosion Action Scenes :- The biggest highlight of the film Songs :- Every single song is masterpiece BGM :- Should've got Oscar in this criteria Dialogues :- Felt awkward at some points but overall good Screenplay :- Fabulous, just a lil boring in second half Characters :- Hits the bottom of your heart.

Pushpa: The Rise - Part 1 (2021)

Overrated Garbage

Generally I don't give low ratings, even movies like Flying Jatt & Housefull 4 got 4/10 from me, so you can judge the quality of the film from my rating.

The director of this film said "One Pushpa equals Ten KGF" My God!!! I wish I had that much confidence in my life as well.

Like what's this 7.6/10 rating coming from?

The film deserves 4/10 because of it's trash storytelling, cringy action & romantic scenes The only good thing this movie has is Allu Arjuns acting, man is literally future superstar If that's enough for the film to become superhit, we've no reason to hate Shehzada as well.

Only blind fans will disagree.

Kantara (2022)

Overrated As F

Seriously, one of the most overrated movies I've watched Basically "Pushpa With Fantasy Elements" Is what summarizes this film.

Only the scenes involving Panjauli dev(Opening scene, horror scenes, climax) were good and worth watching Otherwise it's just Pushpa, nothing else Promoting all kind of anti social activities like objectifying women, disrespecting government officials, destroying forest, illegal animal hunting, etc

Didn't even consider cheesy dialogues, bad acting by some cast members(Ofc Rishabh Shetty did a good job here) and still it's so much.

I'd have given it 5/10(Rating Of Film Pushpa) The only reason it got a little more is because of the scenes involving Panjurli dev.
