Lie, illiteracy and stupidity
Lie, illiteracy and stupidity in any episode... Well, one can hate the Soviet Union, but no one, I think, can deny that the SU protected its vital interests close to its borders, not over the seas. One must hate the war, but not his motherland. It is more than strange to see boys who hate one another from the first glance, officer who does not care of ammunition of his soldiers, even though his own life depends on it, an airplane at the landing speed that lost about quarter of its weight and did not zoom over the runway, etc. Rage and revilement filled me urge to have a wash after I've seen the film. Dirty thing. I feel abuse for the ones who passed through the Afghan war.
Torpedonostsy (1983)
One of the best films about WW2 aviation
The film describes actions of the soviet torpedo bombers over the Barents Sea. You'll feel ruthless horror of war and cold of the Northern seas. You'll see why torpedo bomber usually made only three battle flights. It is hard to beleave, but one of the last scenes of the film -- fire in the cockpit -- is ABSOLUTELY realistic. However, excellent use of the original chronicle film and air film shooting.
Khronika pikiruyushchego bombardirovshchika (1968)
The best film about military aviation of WW2
"Diving bomber chronicle" is one of the best films about the World War 2. This is the story of Honour and Duty. It describes the last three days of the Pe-2 soviet diving bomber crew -- the three young men about 20: a former school teacher, musician and artist. An excellent integration of original documentary film chronicle into the modern film shooting. One of the best works of Oleg Dal ( air gunner ).
