The Offer (2022)
Absolutely not to be missed
One of the best series I've ever seen. Excellent screenplay, direction, cinematography and editing. Acted well by all the actors. Never trivial or obvious, it involves and excites. It allows you to discover what lies behind the making of a film, from a point of view normally little considered by the viewer, often led to consider, above all, actors and directors: that of production. An interesting story develops around the production of The Godfather, at least as much as the one narrated in the film. A story, probably, partially fictionalized, but with many references to real people who built the history of the Paramount production company. An impeccable realization which, except in rare moments, does not lack attraction, from start to finish. Well done to all who made it.
Absolutely not to be missed.
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (2022)
This is not a memorable film
Nice idea. Good script and workmanship, but, probably, for those who are not a fan of Cage, the film is overall "average", but nothing more. Nicolas Cage is less convincing when he plays himself than when he plays other characters. In short, to make a story of this kind well, a memorable film would have had to be produced: this is not a memorable film. The biggest flaw: it transmits few emotions and is less fun than it would like to be.
Boîte noire (2021)
Well-made, a bit too long
Well-made and structured film. Screenwriting, directing and editing work well. The pace of the investigation is well managed, especially in the first part. Unfortunately, everything is a bit long and this reduces the tension for the viewer. In any case, the result is good and would have been even better with a drier route.
