Pokémon Journeys (2019)
It's pokemon. Just enjoy.
First off, let's get the negatives out of the way - ash seems really dumb; Goh catches Pokémon with no battling required.
Right now for the brief review....take it at face value. It is Pokémon and for kids and it is enjoyable. We see so many new & different locations, as well as meeting some fun and likeable characters along the way. Great to see all tue Pokémon that feature - both old and new creatures.
Forget the haters and give it a go. At 20mins an episode you won't regret it. It sets the scene nicely for follow on masters series and helps add bit of context to later films.
I grew up with Pokémon blue and red, but I am really enjoying the new stuff. The battles are exciting and let's not forget the ever faithful Pikachu! An excellent travel companion for Ash.
Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing (2018)
Brilliant viewing for a good laugh
Not a massive fan of Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse I was sceptical. Neither am I a fishing fan!
However, this show proved not to judge a book by its cover.
This was brilliant programming and excellent way to unwind and enjoy half hour of television.
Fishing element aside (which was great viewing incidentally and so pleasing when they caught the fish) it was great to see two life long friends chatting and reminiscing. They were so genuine and candid with each other.
Mortimer proves he is more than a comedian - a great cook and fisherman too. Lovely to see his fishing skills progress through the show, and his genuine joy at catching a fish.
Give it a go and you will not be disappointed.
