Jigeum uri hakgyoneun (2022)
The breakfast club meets zombies
South Korea can make damn good zombie shows.
Overall, this was a fun, intense, and emotional watch. I binged it and couldn't stop, which I normally get bored of doing with most shows.
The characters were greatly developed and the story was compelling. You'll find yourself shocked with grief, laughing at well executed jokes, or intensely watching the screen wondering what will happen. Literally anyone can die in this,
which adds to the anticipation. If you aren't into reading subtitles the English dubbing was also well done.
A couple quirks here and there, like the constant replaying of old scenes during "aha" or reminiscing moments. It's a bit overdone but not a problem really.
I don't want to give it a 10 because it's not like it's the best show ever made, but I would give it a 10/10 for entertainment alone. Definitely worth the watch.
Resident Evil (2022)
Not terrible, but not resident evil
I think most of the poorest reviews are because it doesn't feel like resident evil. I'm sure the people watching right away were expecting a certain standard as fans of the franchise. It's just kinda another zombie show. It's nothing spectacular but it was an enjoyable watch and the acting was pretty good.
The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window (2022)
Genius! Loved it
If you like satire comedies with fun "who did it" story lines like scream, or intentionally cheesy lines intended for humor, like those in Jennifer's body, then this show is perfect for you.
Making fun of the recent influx in films and books beginning with "the girl" or "the woman" often involving witnessing a murder, this short series perfectly executes subtle and not so subtle cliches in dialog and props. I found myself engaged in its story line and laughing frequently.
It does not deserve its low ratings, and will be appreciated by fans of unique comedies. The poor reviews are likely due to those taking its jokes seriously or not understanding the point of its humor.
