Dangerous Breed: Crime. Cons. Cats. (2022)
I'm sorry I watched this.
The main character of this story is so vile, repugnant, and obviously guilty of so much horrendous behavior towards women, despite no convictions. After watching this, which I did in the hopes of a satisfactory resolution which never came, I felt dirty and soiled. Simply because I entered his world by watching. The filmmaker seems like a nice and smart guy, but it's hard for me to understand how he could not have seen the real reality, immediately, on day one. Finally, it's a tragic story. Not only because of the obvious abuse, but also because so many women damaged enough to put up with this.
On the Case with Paula Zahn (2009)
Paula ruins her own show.
I had no idea that she wasn't in the room with the people she appears to be interviewing until I read the the reviews below. But it explains a lot. She is awful! Ridiculous, insensitive, and sensational questions. How many times does she ask, "What was her death like? How did you feel when....?" OMG! It's cringeworthy. And could she speak any slower, or articulate her words anymore than she does? How did this show get so many seasons? Also, many of us like to see stories about cases that were solved and where justice was served. But many of these are still open cases. These should be in a separate show....i.e. Unsolved Mysteries.
Don't F**k with Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer (2019)
I take exception to only two things. Videos and last sentence.
Extremely well done. I take exception to two issues, and thus I rated it a 9 instead of 10. 1) There was no need to show the videos. It's a form of porn, and worse, it's disrespectful to the victim. 2) The last sentence was insulting to the viewer, in this case me, who had just spent 3 hours watching. The woman speaking is there to present her story, and not make a sweeping value judgment about the audience, an audience she's essentially attracted by participating in the doc. And completely out-of-step with what preceded it.
Grégory (2019)
Disgusted with the policeman who judged the mother based on appearance.
As a mother who lost a child, and knows of many others like myself, his comments were offensive, even worse. There is NO way for anyone to know what's in the heart of a grief-stricken mother. Every grieving mother I know mourned differently, especially in public. Sometimes donning a nice outfit, applying make-up, doing one's hair, is the only thing you can do to keep yourself from drowning. 'Fake it til you make it.'
The fact that he even commented on her 'prettiness'. Oh my.
There's Something Wrong with Aunt Diane (2011)
Denial and Insensitivity
Tragic and devastating for so many, including the witnesses and first responders. But the parents that lost all three children! I can only imagine that this documentary, even the idea of it, would only add to their pain. Better for the young boy if the family pursues therapy, acceptance, and ultimately meaning and growth from this tragedy.
