Pokémon Journeys (2019)
Fresh and interesting.
Graphics: the graphic style gets better and better over time, the colors are smooth and gentle. Journeys is quite similar to S&M, I don't like Xy too much because the graphics are beautiful but too glossy.
Soundtrack: so cool and impressive, I've rewatched Ash and Goh sitting on Lugia's back countless times largely because of the music, every time the OST comes out, I get goosebumps.
Pokemon: seeing so many Pokemon in the anime is amazing. Anime is geared towards kids, so it's fun to introduce Pokemon along the way.
Pokemon and trainers: Pokemon Journeys makes me feel like not only trainers take care of pokemon but pokemon also take care of trainers, typically Raboot and Eevee.
Characters: new characters bring a whole new feeling. Goh and Chloe bring new personalities and stories.
Chloe: a cautious and straightforward (and a bit tsundere) heroine. Her development revolved around many supporting characters. She is completely different from the previous heroines.
Goh: a unique dream, a completely new goal, I'm curious if he will catch Mew first or capture all the Pokemon first, both of those things are unbelievable, following such an unlikely journey is interesting.
Relationships: they are portrayed quite closely. With Ash and Goh it was very clear in the first few episodes when they disagreed, argued, and realized the right point. With Goh and Chloe, the childhood friendship is depicted in very small but delicate details in many episodes, every time they get into trouble, they think about each other.
Stories: stories give meaning. They are very light and playful, only regret that the limited time of the episode makes them too short, so it is difficult to convey to many people.
The role of the old character: they return with completely new roles, like Gary (developing Goh), Serena (supporting Chloe), Clemont (supporting Ash).
Legendary Pokemon: it's great to be able to see them more often and understand them better, like what they can do.
There are over 100 episodes now and I swear I watched it no less than 5 times. There are too many new things for old fans to accept, I'm an old fan too but not too attached to them.
