The New York Butcher (2016)
Misty Mundae has never been better.
A decent psychological horror film, good acting by most of the cast, especially Erin Brown aka Misty Mundae. The script and the premise were very interesting and it would have been nice to see what could have been done with a bigger budget, but as is this is a definite watch. The specially effects looked good and there's even a love scene thrown in for good measure. Low lights were all related to the micro budget this film was likely shot on. If you're a fan of Misty like I am and you'd like to see her do some real acting, then check this flick out. I've seen her in almost twenty films and this is the most and the best acting she's done be far.
Paranormal Activity (2007)
This "movie" is a piece of sh*t
Boring, slow, and stupid are the only words that come to mind while watching this hot mess.
I downloaded it for free and still couldn't watch it, don't waste your time or money.
How this movie is getting good word-of-mouth is beyond me. You would think that after the first wave of people saw it they would warn the rest of us poor saps, but I guess misery loves company in this case.
I'd rather watch a marathon of Andy Milligan or Ed Wood movies than watch this crap full through once. The people that recommend this movie were likely the same morons that made, macarena a number one single.
Hookers in Revolt (2006)
Animal Farm but with Hookers, this hilarious exploitation movie puts a smile on my face EVERY time I see it!
I very familiar story line for those of us who remember reading "Animal Farm" in high school. For those who need refreshing the book is a satirical fable of animals starting a communist inspired revolt against farmers/humans and the leaders of the revolt being corrupted by their new found power and oppressing the animals equally if not more than the farmers/humans did. The book was an allegory for the Russian revolution. "Hookers in Revolt", pretty much follows the book to the letter with the hookers/animals, cops/dogs, pimps/farmers, animal farm/escort service. This movie is enjoyable for me on 2 levels it's real funny to watch how the director (Sean Weathers) works in the parallels and more importantly it's also just a really entertaining offbeat movie. It's very hard to describe it's kind of a mix between "A Clockwork Orange" and "Death Race 2000". Action, dark comedy, political satire, beautiful women, naked bodies and wild sex scenes (including one that looked very real and very hot). I must watch for any cult movie fan, awesome movie!!!
Lust for Vengeance (2001)
I unique reinventing of the slasher flick with more sex and less gore
This movie has the feel of an exciting paper back murder mystery. First off it tells it's story in a unique way in that it is both episodic and non-linear which seems like it may be overkill and hard to follow, but it's really not since the plot is quite simple and the movie is more about character analysis than anything else. The movie is based around 5 girls and a psycho from the past who wants revenge and kills them off one by one. A very cliché and standard story line for this genre except the killer and the killings come off as almost an after thought, it's there just to be the glue that holds the movie together, I like what the director (Sean Weathers) does with this movie in presenting something you've seen before from a different point of view. Highlights of the movie include a very funny split screen phone conversation, an avant-garde death scene and what is easily the best love scene I've ever seen in a movie! Ever! This movie really under the category of a giallo and is a must see for any fans of Dario Argento or Mario Bava
House of the Damned (1996)
Funny and enjoyable, the original "House of the Damned" a hard to find gem
I young girl named Liz is having a hard time dealing with the recent untimely death of her father. Her strikingly young looking and attractive mother seems alarmingly indifferent and emotionally disconnected from her daughter. Liz's somewhat derange grandfather tries to convince her that they are really brother and sister and her mother is an evil queen who will kill Liz at midnight and steal her youth to stay young (something she's been doing for a few hundred years apparently). Liz doesn't believe him until all of her friends that she invited to her birthday party and her grandfather, I mean brother excuse me, are all already dead. But wait there is hope as her fathers ghost comes in to direct Liz to where the scroll is so that she can break the curse, however she will have to fight off all of her friends who have come back to life as zombies to try and stop her. This movie features curses, black magic, ghosts, a house coming alive and a rapping zombie. Clearly the director of this movie (Sean Weathers) doesn't take himself or this movie too seriously and neither should anyone watching it. It actually has a surprisingly great score and it's good for some cheap low budget movie thrills with a few laugh out loud moments. Definitely worth checking out if you're a fan of The Twilight Zone television series or a fan of The Return of the Living Dead and Evil Dead movies.
