Percy Jackson and the Olympians: I Become Supreme Lord of the Bathroom (2023)
Good but painfully cringe
Writers and especially Disney, understand this, as Percy Jackson fans, we read the books in our preteens, and now we're in either senior year of high school or early college. You guys need to grow with your audience; a lot of the jokes miss extremely hard and tons of scenes are insanely cringe worthy and felt like they were directed towards eight year olds. I try not to be that guy, but every single casting was terrible. I think they could be all amazing actors and actresses, but not for the role they were given. The CGI is incredibly terrible. I cannot believe a movie made in 2010 had beyond better CGI than a high budget show created in 2023. In the first film Mrs. Dodds looked amazing in the first movie, Grover's walk and legs looked amazing, Hades looked amazing, healing sequences looked amazing, Chiron didn't look bad either... but this? The CGI has been nothing but low quality MCU show CGI (Loki not included, that show was stupendous).
Loki: Heart of the TVA (2023)
"You'll Never Be Him"
By far the darkest episode in MCU television along with the greatest editing, direction, and dialogue too. This is really a step up for the MCU, I've been hating on the MCU after No Way Home. Everything from the shows and movies were corny copy and paste, with no substance and terrible dialogue, acting, sets, cgi, you name it. BUT LOKI?! This was an S tier episode and almost made me forget it was MCU. Ms Minutes is extremely creepy and the unsettling feeling provoked is something that Marvel doesn't usually put out. The Cinematography is a 10/10, the handheld shots are beautiful and really puts you in the action. The Pacing is a 10/10, it knew when to slow down and when to speed up with out taking away any screen time. I could go on and on but my fingers are hurting from typing, good work Justin and Aaron, y'all directed very well 🤝
Harley Quinn: Batman Begins Forever (2022)
Best Episode of the entirety of this show.
First off I absolutely love how many animation and art styles they used, they used the same colors as The Animated Batman series, they had so many call backs to not only batman but to joker as well.
The comedy was great as always and you can really sympathize for both Bruce and Harley. They did a great job of showing Harleys Therapist side.
And unlike most episodes where Harley is being annoying or nagging at Ivy, she felt like she was really going through character development unlike any other episode.
Dr Physcho was great as always, clay-face was hilarious, Harley was hilarious and yet it felt so dark at the same time. Absolutely an amazing episode for DC comic fans.
