Magnum P.I. (2018)
CBS really pissed me off
When I heard Magnum was canceled I was mystified, dumbfounded, and in a state disbelief. It's a great show. The main cast is as blended, multiracial and multi gender, and the cast ensemble works really well together. Why on earth would cbs cancel?
Julia (2022)
I remember watching Julia
I laugh and enjoy and remember and feel amazed and get pissed off. Writers and director have recreated a cultural and culinary icon in a truly enjoyable way. The show gives Julia a life I didn't get when a chiild. Yet it also reminds me of the sexism and racism and homophobia of the sixties. Yet it doesn't become heavy or pedantic. I can't remember when I've enjoyed a show so much. Thank you Eboni, Melanie, and crew.
Harry Wild (2022)
Jane Seymour's best role ever?
Retired literature professor solving crime. Fun repartee. Enjoy the literary references employed in the plots.
Personally I think Jane's character is too young, vivacious, and witty to be retired.
We find it hysterically funny.
Murder in Provence (2022)
Very British
Don't watch if you don't like British humor or beautiful views.
The utterly British accents and sensibility is incongruous in
The French country side. ( or where ever it was filmed).
But it is delightful if you like the genre
Of Brit shows.
Kung Fu (2021)
Enjoyable
Enjoyable action scenes. Enjoy seeing so many Asian and Asian American actors and actresses. Some meaningful philosophical, social, political, and family topics. The story line is decent.
Unfortunately it has the same name as a very different show form when I was a lot younger than I am now. Unfortunate because so many people do not judge this show on its own or seem to want to recreate the past.
How boring it would have been if they'd tried to recreate the old show. If folks would let it stand on its own and just watch for the entertainment value and not compare it to the past they might actually enjoy it also.
