Mayfair Witches (2023)
Am I the only one lost?
Like seriously??? I saw the previews and thought this might be interesting. Watched a couple of episodes and figured by episode 6 that it would come together but there are two episodes left and I have no clue what is going on. I feel like they made this with the assumption that people have read the books. So I came here to see if I can get a sliver of hope , some direction on what I am not getting. From the reviews here it sounds like it's not even following the books and the characters are all wrong. I know Anne Rice was a great storyteller which is why I beg the question.. what am missing? I think they needed more back story on these characters and why they are important. Going back to the old days and back to current time, makes it even more confusing. Maybe this is enjoyable to some, but I am still waiting for it to pay off.
The Bear (2022)
It will make you hungry!
First episode was a little over the top with yelling and super quick camera movements. A little off putting, but totally turns around and becomes enjoyable. Episode 4 had me crying laughing. It says it's not a comedy but does have subtle moments where you giggle. Lip is just an amazing actor however all the other actors blend really good. Each episode is like 30 mins so it's a quick binge. It will make you hungry cause the food looks amazing. Couple of surprise cameos, was nice nice to see. Overall, good watch and hopefully they make a season 2.
I Am Groot (2022)
Remember When?
Remember when Marvel was must see content? I do. I remember my family having talks about what we saw and discussing together. Like OMG, Wow! I can't wait until....
Remember getting excited to watch a Marvel movie the day it comes out? Telling friends and family, don't say anything about it until I watch it.
Remember, boy who cried wolf? Well, that's Marvel these days. Hyping up fans to only let us down or mislead. I watch because of what they stood for and what they brought to films. This is just turning into one massive joke and we are the punchline. I have a feeling fans are just going to stop staying current with the Marvel Universe.
This show is that... forgettable. Not funny. Marvel content that just says we don't care about fans and they seem to be ok with that. Watered down content made for who exactly? There are no spoilers for this show because it's not worth spoiling. I have a feeling that She-Hulk is going down the same road as Ms. Marvel, Thor Love and Thunder and this sad nonsense of a show. Marvel is dying and fans are taking note.
The Terminal List (2022)
Finally!!!
No agenda's... just a great series that tells a great revenge story. It seems odd to be excited about a good story but nowadays these shows just don't exist too often. You can actually watch the entire series and feel like you were entertained and not feel cringed because of some agenda that needs to be added. Characters were great. Story was easy to follow. Had a John Wick revenge type feel to it. Very binge watching as the story kept pulling you in for one more... if you are like me and I don't know, looking for entertainment when watching a series/movie and not feel judged, give this a go. You won't be disappointed.
The Umbrella Academy (2019)
Season 3?? Just not good
I gave this a 7 because I can't give season 1 & 2 a bad review. Season 3, really missed the mark. Having the Sparrow versus Umbrella brawl could have been amazing as a season long plot. Instead, they are saving the universe again. Most of the episodes just feel like filler episodes and it just never pays out in the end. This season started out with what you love, a dance off between both academies. Stupid fun with old and new characters but then it just died. No cool music fight scenes or any of the fun things that made this show great. I read the comics and Elliot Page is just a bad actor for this role. In addition, changing from Vanya to Victor was just confusing. Every time someone mentioned Victor, I had stop and think who the hell is Victor, oh yeah. It's just weird to change characters from a girl to a boy in a established show. It's like Wanda Maximoff (scarlet witch) changing her name to Wade and her telling the Avengers that she is now a boy. Like, why??? Just confusing as hell and doesn't add to the plot. If there is a season 4, I hope they go back to their roots.
Ms. Marvel (2022)
Need to be a movie, not a series
As a fan of Marvel, I watch whatever is created because I love Stan Lee's universe. I think they should have went a different route on this one and just made a movie. Tear out all this nonsensical content and get to the point. This could have worked as an 1 1/2 hour movie. Based on those ratings, it would have determined if a series was necessary. They did a great job with America Chavez in Dr. Strange. That's what should have happened with this character. Gives us a little to see what her powers can do. Then make a series. Based on America Chavez, I would watch a series because of her powers. This is just not strong enough to carry a series.
Survivor (2000)
Ugh, again???
I watched big brother and stomached through most of the season until all was left was the cookout. It was such a boring watch. I didn't care who won. I told myself that Survivor will make up for a disappointing Big Brother season. NOPE.
Survivor started out promising and then it turned into woke agenda again. Once the players started a black alliance, I was done. Survivor has had so many diverse winners and all stars that there is no need to create an alliance based on race.
CBS, you have now ruined two fun shows that were entertaining. Shows that you would look forward to and watch as a family. It's hard to watch a show where race is more important than the objective. This show was about turning on each other. There was alliances but they never lasted as the game progressed.
People want to be entertained. We want back stabbing and lying. We want to be a Monday morning quarterback and say what we would have done differently. Now it's so scripted that it's not about the viewers but to placate to an a specific audience that very few can relate.
The problem is, I love both of the shows. I will see what next season brings, but this year, I am just done.
