The Devil All the Time (2020)
Welcome to the psychopath cinematic universe
For what this movie set out to do, it did it in flying colors. You know what the title of this movie is, so go in expecting that things will get heavy, messy, and violent.
The first half of the movie is slow, but it's not void of scenarios that sticks to you. This movie won't try to tell some grand message, and it's not supposed to. It documents a series of events, and presents a cast of characters who are extremely well acted and convincing.
Those who try to look for meaning into this film will either get disappointed as the message is pretty grim, or simply get offended. If you can't remember a movie that offends you, this movie is definitely worth a watch.
6 Underground (2019)
You know who directed this movie, right?
If you don't know Michael Bay and watched this movie, I'm so sorry. :)
Otherwise, if you have heard of this series of movies called Transformers and got the chance to watch any one of these movies in the past, you pretty much know what you're getting into. It's 97% action, 2% character, 1% plot, give or take.
Note that I am rating this in the "Michael Bay scale" that exist for mindless action flicks. The car chase was exciting and refreshing, the shots are beautifully composed, and the location exotic.
I typically hate the Transformers movies because they're supposed to be about Transformers but instead we get Michael Bay. In this movie it promises Michael Bay and delivered Michael Bay. This is maximum Bay and I had fun with it.
The Discovery (2017)
Worth A Look
Movie takes place in a fictional reality and depicts what constitutes as afterlife in that world. It contains concepts that are fun to ponder about, and there's just enough to engage me throughout the film. However, the movie does suffer from not having the clever execution that makes the reveal as rewarding as can be. Robert Redford stole the show with his performance, while others really hold no equal.
When a movie contradicts religious believe, it will rate no more than 5/10. So be your own judge. If you like Sci-Fi, The Discovery is definitely more fun to watch than a typical episode of Fringe.
