Dark (2017)
if only the beginning was the end with just the one season.
The first season started off entertaining enough, it's fun guessing who is who and the visuals are decent, the mood and soundtrack all kind of dark and indie feeling. I felt like "damn, this is my kind of show." Well that illusion fades some fast let me tell you.
I remember thinking pretty heavy in to season 2 , who am i routing for ? I wanted to like someone but i really didn't care if anyone croaked or went missing, when Jonas was at the nuclear plant in the future and he just new how to use all the switches and the some how restore a plant in ruins and lower that orb tar portal like a professional nuclear physicist i was near done.
It started feeling like they didn't have a story really and just made up new parts the day of the shoot, once they travelled to another planet or dimension it was really toast! When i saw the eye patch guy now missing an arm i literally laughed out loud and what the hell did they do to the Noah character they gave him a heart and human compassion all of a sudden? What betrayal to the audience. So many holes in this story it's disturbing It just gets worse and worse in season three where you really see the over acting and must listen to the breath of the girl with bangs she literally is the whole season and once you notice her heavy breathing with every word every action, you will struggle to finish this series, Jonas endless tears with every conversation.. you think a man that travelled and saw that much would even have a feeling anymore? Come on you'd be a NUMB sob, it went from good to literally a punishment, even the music videos at the end start becoming painful but good cause you know the episode is finally going to be over, if the "end is the beginning"and i gotta sit through this again I'm gonna cancel Netflix
Listen in closing, i'm 40 ,i saw a lot of good tv growing up, xfiles tales from the crypt twilight zone Alfred Hitchcock ect ect, the list goes on and on i think the 10 rating across the map for this show just goes to show you the sea of literal crap that is really out there today for kids, it's not good tv it's
"content" made for streaming, lacks depth and thought and most importantly soul, now a days you even try just a little you have masterpiece in the eyes of none the wiser. If i could travel to the future id tell myself that the beginning is the end of this show and i'd just skip Dark altogether.
Gokseong (2016)
unbelievably good!
Hollywood needs to study this film. The acting was excellent the kid wasn't annoying like all kids are in recent years in hollywood horrors. The script was well thought out and had soul, the characters had depth and the dialog was imaginative and smart. The movie feels mature has twist and turns and keeps you guessing, the locations and nature is an ART, which is why i watched the movie 3 times. The rain, the mountainsm it's so visually pleasing. It's distributing and creepy it checks off all the boxes for a great horror. Hollywood cant even touch a film this well done.
Pet Sematary (2019)
typical Hollywood remake .
Why does every remake Hollywood does half to have long boring dialogue between parents and kids? Like am i watching fullhouse, it's not even interesting dialogue either it's so bad you could never watch this movie twice. Isn't this a horror movie? Why can't kids act anymore like they did in the 80's you can have children in movies and it not be a painful cringe fest, like the exorcist for example. These people don't know how to write good movies. This was trash for adults, so i don't know who this movie is for.
The Lunatic'ler (2016)
creepy clowns was at least accurate.
Creepy in a way i would say the writer had some damn dark fetish in real life. This movie was uncomfortable and bad, but not in a good horror way, but i will say i lasted the whole movie so it was at least watchable, it's so bad and weird its almost worth the watch. The acting is a total spectacle, does amazon the richest business in the world even watch what they choose to put on amazon prime? CLEARLY NOT. This movie is gross and im surprised they would want to act in it.
Devil's Island (2021)
Honestly this should of never been made, and i think would hurt an actors career.
No dialogue, no vision, no artistic originality, really no point, it is like they wanted to make a movie but had no script and just shot it as they went along, but even then i would imagine it would of came out better. I rarely think a movie is a waste of time but i felt like i could used this time to clean my house, or even self reflect in a dark quite room, can you imagine watching this movie twice!? Now that would be a true horror. I bet first year film students would pull off something more interesting and believable then this.
I Know What You Did Last Summer (2021)
7th heaven the tv series was better
I though this was going to be thriller or horror? To be fair i only watched the first episode and it wasn't easy to make it 50 minutes, the script dialogue was the worst and thinnest i have ever saw in recent memory, just total filler like they were making it up as they went along, this pilot episode was suppose to draw people in ? I just want my hour back, i literally hated everyone on the screen after about 20 minutes, i rather just turn off my tv and watch the black screen. Amazon keeps releasing amateur hour first draft stinkers this bad i might cancel my membership and just watch my old dvds. Total GARBAGE like seriously who was this for? Its not for adults and its not for kids? Pull this series quick before you lose respect.
