Rescued by Ruby (2022)
I need more of these.
I need a shelter dog that becomes therapy dog.
I need a shelter dog that becomes a sled dog.
I need a shelter dog that becomes a guide dog.
I need 12 of these.
It's a hallmark movie with a great storyline, some heartwarming moments, and a sweet message.
This story is based on true life events. Ruby in real life is a sweet tri colored Australian shepherd/collie mix. She was returned 5 times before she was evaluated for detection work and she did really assist in finding a shelter volunteer's missing child.
There are stories like this out there. GIVE ME MORE WITH HUNKY OWNERS (Grant Gustin is a total heart throb in this movie as a wonderful family man with a knee crippling smile).
What more could you want?
The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window (2022)
I am deeply disturbed by this low rating.
To me, this is a satire cult classic waiting to happen. This is in line with the evil dead series, airplane, some of the greats.
If you're watching for a brilliant Nancy Drew on four class psychotropics comedy/satire, it's a TEN. If you only made it three episodes in and still think it's a drama/thriller-well yeah it's a 6 but you dopes didn't finish it.
Dokutâ Sutôn: Stone World (2019)
Scienceeeeee!!!!
You better get excited. To watch this show.
It's got mystery. It's got intrigue. It's got "sorcery"! And all the wonderful kitchiness we get from most animes.
Bright: Samurai Soul (2021)
Missed opportunity
This could have been good.
But honestly it just wasn't developed enough. I get the themes, the goals, where they were trying to go with it but just not enough dev. The animation could have been great but it needed editing, refining. Script could have been great but it needed-again, refining. It felt like SO much content was missing. Why make a movie that has a story that should be 1h40m into 1h20m?
It just felt incomplete. I get the push to be good enough and get content out fast but this movie was definitely a failed by-product of that philosophy.
Netflix serving up raw cake and expect us to be excited about it.
