Stillwater (2021)
Matt is playing ugly good
Original, but sometimes unbelievable script, but who cares. Perfect cast. Great acting. I believed it. Stillwater runs deep. Loved Matt. I'm not kidding, no one can act that unsophisticated, ugly, but charming like Matt.

Your movie
This will haunt you for the rest of your life, so much beauty and creativity. Great actors. Great script. It's like one of those films you never want to see again because you're afraid to ruin it.
Why do I love it, we'll it's because Trier always manages to make movies about you. If not you-now then a past-you. You can so easily relate to the storyline and the characters. So when you leave the theaters you feel really good about yourself. It stays with you. I'm really glad that I saw this movie.
On the Rocks (2020)
No sharp edges
A well written story about a writer that thinks her husband is cheating on her. Her father, who cheated on her mother, bond in pursuing evidence against the husband.
It's a good story, and it picks up on stereotypical behaviors in the relationship between man and woman. But nothing interesting and new comes to light.
Good music. Good camera work. Great cast, but it feels a bit wasted. No challenges. No sharp edges. Nothing to get excited about. Love Bill, but not when he is acting to be Bill.

Best of Wirkola
How far can you push the script before it turns on you? I think W is hitting the mark on this one. Nice flow from bordering-boredom to slammer-splat. Nice acting. Best production value by W so far. Dark splatter humour at it's best.
