I paid money to see this
23 February 2024
Coming off of the Spider-Man franchise with across the spider verse, I had high expectations because I personally have superhero fatigue. And for whatever reason, Spider-Man has never Fallen into this category until this movie. This movie was a blatant cash grab with no real direction and I do not know why it was greenlight as far as it was no pay off no characters of reconciliation or understanding. In fact, it doesn't even feel like a music video. Forgettable.

.................... why was Dakota Johnson in this? Doesn't she want to be considered a serious Hollywood actor Clickbait? It's not even Clickbait. This is just a straight up disaster of a movie with no intelligent people in storyboarding.

Crazy emotional, very realistic
25 September 2023
The first thing I can say about this is that all praise to the actress who plays Beth. She is unbelievably good at pain. I don't know why she isn't more famous because one she's gorgeous too. She's a phenominal actress and three she's been in the industry for long enough. Other than that, every single person in this show gave a top-notch performance. The editing is top tier. I'm only on episode six so I haven't finished the first season yet, but I just had to add my review because this show is some thing that's going to stay with me for a while. It's gorgeous it's emotional it has David Tennant! There is not one disappointing thing about the series, and I want to say it feels a lot like the other miniseries sharp objects. But I think it's better.

Cute but confusing for the viewer

Thanks Review below

Magical Endearing Hard to get into Nice payoff Beautiful cgi Storytelling and actions clear and engaging Downfall is lots of magic and names all at Once. Hard to follow the intense line gage, might need two watches. Watch it twice to understand all the lore thrown at you, kind of like the movie Cloud Atlas (which I think is a great movie too that feels like this one in tone and pacing.) thanks.

............ Score is nice Actors yes

--___________

I do not like that the main characters are all alike, it's hard to distinguish... maybe one having a mustache would have broken up all the similarities....

I love horror, movies, and this one is masterful
24 August 2023
Really glad I found this recommendation on TikTok, it surprised me how good it was for a genre that I feel is overplayed. In terms of slasher films, this one has it all. I would rank it amongst Texas chainsaw, massacre with Jessica Biel, the original hostile, And I saw the devil those are my current favorite slasher films, so if you like those movies, definitely check out fresh. Honestly, the actors all did so amazing. But my favorite part of the film was the pacing. Every half hour something new happened. The ante was upped the story got more complex and there didn't feel like any wasted scenes or beats. Plus, the music selection is on fire. Really enjoyed the editing really enjoyed the cut a ways to describe the characters, emotions and feelings. The ending was really satisfying And funny.

Star Trek: Lower Decks (2020–2024)

It's a fun ride for all the what-ifs?
31 July 2023
The original series were all spectacular, with lore beyond imagination to build from. This show is different from the other star treks because it deals with the crew and their lives instead of the missions as a focus. I like this show because it's written in canon, so a lot of the stuff we see I've always wanted to see from the other ships and how they function. The sonic showers? So cool. The rank differences? I feel like this is the first time we get to see what it's like to live on starfleet command posts. It's not as funny as it tries to be, and the main character is annoying instead of being like-able, but the show has gumption and heart and arcing storylines.

Where it suffers, I believe, is editing. The fast paced sequences match the tone of the editing, but everything else is strapped of personality by being just as fast. It makes it feel like the actors are yelling all the time. The best voice actor is the green girl because she's the one who isn't constantly yelling. And the robot hamper. She also isn't yelling the entire time.

If you make it to the end, there's a really fantastic payoff. But a lot of the episodes were really overwhelming because of the constant yelling of the voice actors and the editing during downtime on the ship.

The animation nation is stellar, the sound design is also great.

A much faster paced version of the classic sailor moon
11 July 2023
Retconned to have more in common with the manga, more stylized and more about the magic of the world building. Trimmed the fat with the antagonist of each storyline, the whole saga fits better together and the pacing is done well. What lacks with this new remake is dialogue and side stories. There is no sister like relationship between Rei and Usagi. They don't bicker or compete for Darien's attention. The inter relationships of the sailor scouts don't matter as much as progressing the plot. I must say, Chibi Usa is a lot more tolerable than in the American cartoon. I really enjoyed this version, the more faithful adaptation and I can't wait to see what they change in cosmos.

Shrinking (2023– )
2/10
Not even Jason can save this show I'm sorry
15 May 2023
I love the actors, but not the script. It's not as clean as they wanted it to feel. The club lines comes from Harrison Ford, who is completely miscast. He feels tired in every scene, nothing snarky. The role was written for Stanley Tucci and he wasn't available. Jason is lovable as a shrink who is falling apart and turns into Sandra bullock from "Blind Side" by adopting his clients into his personal life. The predictable daughter is embarrassed by her father. The predictable shrink falls into predictable dilemma with absolutely predictable 1 hour endings. This show would have been better written if it had more real work believability and is Harrison wasn't so tired all the time.

Only halfway thru and it's 10 stars
24 April 2023
I haven't even gotten to the sad part of the documentary, which, because of time we know is where he dies. I am only halfway through him at his most victorious moment. I cannot comprehend a man that represents the nation the way Senna represents love and Faith and devotion to his country. This man was an inspiration, and I understand his fame, not just because of his beauty but because of his passion. It is remarkable. I apply any individual that wants to be inspired to watch this film because Senna was a hero. It was a man that listen to the will inside of him to be greater. I think we all aspire to see ourselves as people who can overcome, and this is what he represents.

Beautiful and underdeveloped
18 April 2023
Watching this movie is like watching a movie and pre-production that was Greenlit without any cinematographer actually hired. This movie is gorgeous definitely 100% shot on millimeter film because you can just tell the Grey's are just uniquely gray and the blacks have so much depth. What is movie locks and plot and character development, it makes up for in good pacing and editing and again the direction of cinnamon shout cinematography is beautiful. This is an easy watch for a big group of people I don't know why this wasn't a serious, because there is so much world building that just wasn't even touched upon.

Just a slow, boring movie
9 April 2023
Was Russian roulette really that popular, anywhere or ever? This film is.... Confusing. There doesn't seem to be a plot. The title deer hunter... doesn't have a single thing to do with the bloated runtime of this movie. It's a war story, but there's no narrative about where in the war this story is. One can argue that doesn't matter to the film, but the fact that the only thing keeping pace in this movie in regards to time or place is that darn silly game of Russian roulette. I have no idea why Merle Streep is in this movie. Her characters adds zero things to the narrative or plot. The scenes with the most heart are equally Confusing. I didn't connect with a single character.

Good movie but not a must watch anymore
2 April 2023
And the film would understand my sentiment, as that's literally the plot of the movie. Seriously this is a masterpiece on all fronts. Seriously entertaining, seriously riveting, and seriously well shot with a score to die for. Characters are engaging with depth. Movies today can't hold a candle to this cinematic masterpiece. But this is more of a journey in cinematic history than a riveting tale as this is the blueprint for all epic tales in cinema today. Not a slander. This movie is majestic. I don't even know what else to say. Beautiful for a time piece. True to the heart of the film and the message is still relevant.

Derry Girls (2018–2022)
7/10
An easy to binge series
27 March 2023
Sitcoms are about set up and execution. The derry girls have enough characters to have an endless amount of series. There isn't a real plot, or developmental story arc, there isn't a single lesson to learn or for the characters to learn, but watching these bold girls navigate teenage responsibilities is fun to watch. The adults are just as fun and interesting as their children. Most situations are based in reality, which makes this show even funnier. Everyone has met the derry girls in their own lives, or knows someone like them. I wish the episodes had more continuity, but the cause and effect set up doesn't disappoint.

Curb Your Enthusiasm (2000–2024)

A domesticated fantasy sitcom
28 January 2023
Larry David stars As Larry David in a comedy That puts a microphone in the mind of a bald asshole Who gets to live out his fantasies of telling people off. In real life, Larry David would be punched in the face for saying even 1/10 of the things that the characters in this universe put up with by being in Larry David's atmosphere. The situation comedy is unparalleled and the style of shooting, although it seems very avant-garde and cheap to make, Contains all the beats, climaxes, cause and reactions, that a full length movie would have. Each episode is wrapped up beautifully and poignant and provides commentary and viewpoint that is true to the narrative. I remember watching this when I was a kid and it went over my head and I didn't get any of the characters. Now that it's 20 years later, this is honestly brilliant. It is so funny and it is so easy to binge.

I was on that train too
22 January 2023
It's crazy because in 2013, I was on the same train probably not even close to this incident but I do remember it holding us up on our way back from New Year's in the city. I even remember all the news reports back in the day about this, and also the subsequent movie being released but I never saw it mainly because at that time, it wasn't marketed towards me. Now in 2023, I just sat down and watched Fruitvale Station. This is a highly engaging film that needs to be seen by more people. The acting, the obvious use of clairvoyant story boards, the fact that anybody who watches this movie is going to rewatch it immediately. Don't deprive yourself from this emotional and responsive film about being an American. Being a black American. Being poor and not giving up on yourself. Because we have to focus on the good points as well as what anybody who would be creating this film would know; there is no happy ending.

Not a single likeable character
26 December 2022
Maaaaaan every person in this story is self absorbed, self serving, with no character arc. I feel like the fiancé (man) is the worst. Sending out weddings invitations while telling another woman you're in love with her. Despicable. Terrible humans. I wouldn't want to be friends with any of these people.

As a script, the language was actually enticing and well written with dialogue that felt real and situations that are complicated. But the scenes had no emotional leverage, I think the problem is the soundtrack is lacking for emotional depth. There were so many scenes that were just talking and no sound reign besides people walking behind the scene. I think the movie would have been more emotional with a score for the beats.

Worst acting I've ever seen
5 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Some of the worst acting I've ever seen in a high budget film. How are there so many stars in this, people who have spent their entire lives in front of the camera and curating their performances, to end up with such a pile of poop? The scene where Jean kills Raven is unbearable I do not understand how it could be so atrocious. The acting is stale, the script doesn't make any sense, but most importantly, All the actors do not hold a sense of urgency in their scenes, and it feels like they were all sitting down for a table read. The rest of the movies I guess OK but man oh man I do not like Sophie Turner as Jean Gray. And there was exactly 0 chemistry, or maybe negative chemistry, between cyclops and Jean Gray.

This movie has aged like fine wine
2 December 2022
I believe that the first time I saw this movie, my expectations were so high because we had just gotten back into some good movies with this franchise. To have days of future past be so amazing and then this movie to act as it sequel, it makes more sense to watch them back to back without the three years in between. There was so much storyline to unpack, this is definitely the longest X-Men movie of them all, but they covered so much story and such a little time that I had to rewind a lot of the scenes just because I'd look away for 1 second and a major plot point would happen. The antagonist En Sabbah Nur It's honestly the most terrifying villain because not only can he destroy the earth, he has before. The entire time I was entertained but I also kept wondering why at night crawler was so crucial to the X-Men when he was obviously their newest member at that point. But I absolutely loved the story and I think that the writers and producers gave so much for the editors to work with. I think it kind of falls flat on the editing, I wish that the beats were a little tighter. But the acting was spot on and the humanity in this movie is so well represented.

My fave Tom cruise movie
26 November 2022
I'm a big fan of Tom Cruise and all of his franchise decisions. I don't know if this movie was meant to be a franchise, but it sure feels like it. Based off of a book series, very strong leads, amazing sound design and CGI. To me, this is peak Tom Cruise blockbuster entertainment. I remember when this came out, people were very confused and walked away from those not knowing exactly what they watched. I'm so glad that it's 10 years later and this movie is still amazing, hasn't aged poorly at all. Every second of this movie has plot points with character development and the entire movie is easy to listen to because the dialogue is always prominent in the scenes. 10 out of all the tons this is my favorite action movie.

Don't Worry Darling (I) (2022)

Wildly boring but fantastic wardrobe!
25 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
What can I say other than the characters were so bland, it was like eating chicken with no seasoning. Absolutely none of the characters had any depth at all. Chris Pine, Harry styles, Nick Kroll could have all been the same person And the story would've been stronger. It is incredible that there is a flashback sequence every 30 minutes in the film just in case you forgot what immediately just happened. It is also incredible that not a single climatic moment had any weight behind it, because the scenery the lighting and the wardrobe is absolutely stunning. So was looking at Florence, she was absolutely stunning. So much of a movie drag down and was unnecessary. All the climatic moments were spelled out by the characters, and they were very unnecessary long speeches where it was so obvious that there is contractual screen time for each character because of the B roll and reaction shots being placed in random speech scenes. It really is too bad that the writing wasn't stronger, because the movie was really beautiful to look at.

Happy Gilmore (1996)

A timepiece, and historically boundary pushing.
25 October 2022
Well I did not love the entire concept of the movie, it was engaging throughout. Bilmuri scenes did seem like a completely different timeline than the rest of the movie. I actually can't remember if Bill Murray interacted with anyone else from the plot in a cause-and-effect way. I can't believe he's the one who got the most famous from this. This is a character drama through and through. Come for Rodney King, stay for Adam Sandler. Entertaining throughout. Great for a movie to having a background as the audio is equalized and makes for great listening.

Not that funny now that it's an older movie tho.

True Lies (1994)

First time viewer in 2022
13 October 2022
Man I remember everyone making a huge deal about how foxy Jamie Lee Curtis was, and I know I get it while watching this movie. She's completely dazzling, obviously a sexy woman but she can act as well. Arnold is predictable but enjoyable, and the plot Is recycled but unique in the way that the chemistry and characters really get to shine. While this movie follows the formula for 90s action comedies, it makes enough sense for that tension to feel real. Really fun, over the top action scenes. Typical spy mechanics and under developed antagonists don't deflate the emotional attachment to the main characters.

This review is about Christian bale mostly
5 October 2022
Sooooo I need to know if anyone else saw what I saw.... When I was a kid, I was obsessed with Newsies and I think Christian Bale used his newsies character for Gor!!!! The way he talks and moves, just like a Newsies dancing boy. It has me rolling the entire movie more than the plot and weird pacing. Enjoyable movie, didn't make any sense at all, the best part was seeing the gods at Olympus and how Natalie Portman looks her age!!!! She a gorgeous woman and I adore that she didn't have a beauty filter on her face the entire movie. 7/10 the last line of the movie made no sense. "Love and thunder" was not an appropriate title for this film.

Raw emotional damage, pure energy
1 June 2022
High concept, faced paced and thrilling are accurate words for Everything, everywhere all at Once. This movie feels like CRANK with Jason Stratham; once the plot begins, the viewer better hold on. A roller coaster of emotions, but none so powerful as the climax. It's easy to relate to every single one of the characters. This movie will enlighten the audience whether the movie's message is revealed or not. Amazing acting from the leads, with undeniably humorous moments. Absolutely worth a watch and post discussion with friends and family.

Kept my attention, but pure fantasy
27 May 2022
Love the idea of the film, that the main character doesn't know who to trust. But the movie brings up more questions than it can answer. By the end of the movie, what is happening is still quite vague. Entertaining but ultimately panders to the same audience that would like the "Now You See Me" franchise.

To see if you can watch the whole thing without covering your eyes. The "aha" moment wasn't a meaningful reveal. Old people being horny is a weird plot.
