Amazingly Good Post Waltons Movie
12 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I watched this movie when it first originally aired on in NBC In 1982 after CBS cancelled the series. I have watched it almost every Mothers Day Weekend/in May the past several years. Why CBS could not do these movies who knows but according to Ask Judy YouTube series she stated NBC approached them about doing 3 movies. I am so glad they did. This one is my favorite movie of the 80s Waltons. Adding Richard Gilliand to The Waltons was casting gold. They should've added him earlier and maybe the series would've continued on CBS. Wonderful to have Ralph Waite back as John and a guest star appearance by Michael Learned. The plot was very emotional and tear jerking. Good writing. And wonderful acting by Judy Norton, Richard Gilliand and Eric Scott. Couple stories here the first one Mary Ellen and Jonsey finally tie the knot.only to see them go through a trial in their early married days. The other storyline regards Ben's mother in law butting her nose into his little family. Both stories are powerful. The conclusions for both are satisfying. It is definitely worth a watch. I may be in the minority but I like the catchy opening theme. Maybe NBC should've picked up the series. I think with Richard Gillian and Morgan Stevens this series could've gone on a little longer.

Father Brown (2013– )

Lacks Excitement of Previous Seasons
18 March 2024
Father Brown is a series that started airing approximately 11 years ago and stars Mark Williams as a priest who solves mysteries kinda like Father Dowling in the USA. I think is is typical of series as they age. Father Brown is on Season 11. With the absence of Ms. McCarthy, Bunny and Sid, this series it not near as interesting. The new characters Ms. Devine and Mrs. Palmer just don't cut it. I wonder if it will get canceled after this season. If they want to revive this series bring back Ms. McCarthy as a regular and make either Bunny or Lady Felicia a series regular again. I think it would give this series a big revitalization if they make John Light's character Flambeau a series regular.

Agree Best of 3 TV Reunion Movies from 80s
27 November 2023
I agree with the other poster that this is the best of the three 1980s made for TV reunion movies after the series was canceled. I actually prefer this one to the Walton Thanksgiving in 1993. I think this Thanksgiving movie was a good send-off and served as a fine series finale for The Waltons. I love Jonesy and I so wish they would have brought him back in the made for TV movies of the 90s. I was so happy to see Ralph Waite reprise his role. It would have been nice if Michael Learned would have but from what I understand she was busy filming the TV series nurse for CBS at the time. However I thoroughly enjoy this reunion movie and highly recommend it.

Harry Wild (2022– )

Relatively Good Series
29 July 2023
Harry Wild is a new British mystery that airs on Acorn streaming. Jane Seymour plays a retired professor who becomes a private investigator after retirement. It is a little bit like Murder She Wrote with Angela Lansbury. I tuned in to this because I certainly enjoyed Jane Seymour in the Dear Prudence detective movie on the Hallmark Channel. This is a relatively good series with good plot lines and good writing. The acting is very good. The episodes are very interesting. A couple of things I do not like about the show is first of all the profanity. I could do without the profanity in this series and I'm sure many others who watch this feel the same way. The series has also made the character Harry out to basically be an alcoholic even though they do not outright say it it is strongly implied by how much she drinks in the series. I'm finishing season 1 and have enjoyed it except for the items above I will wait to see if I will watch season 2. I really hope they will take out the profanity next season. The series would be just as good without the profanity. Murder She Wrote with Angela Lansbury rarely used profanity and it was excellent. I hope that Harry Wild will take note and do the same. The profanity is what led me to give this series a review of 6 instead of 9.

One of my favorite movies
13 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Love this movie. Remember watching this as a teen and still enjoy it as an adult. Will watch occasionally to this day. Great actors in this movie. I would have like to have known at the end if she eventually regains her sight.

Disappointing
4 September 2021
This movie was disappointing. To me it was not nearly as good as the previous movies. Agree with other reviewers Aurora is just too nosy. Plus where is Peter Benson's Arthur? He adds alot to the movies and his absence was evident. I think it may be time for Aurora Teagarden Mysteries to retire unless the next one is back to par with the previous ones and Peter Benson returns.
